Why Marine One Was Making All That Commotion Near the Vice President’s Residence

One of the top trending topics on Twitter this afternoon was Marine One. The spike in interest in the presidential helicopters was due to some heavy flight traffic by them around the Vice President’s Residence at the Naval Observatory, which is located about three miles to the northwest of the White House. The movements were so noticeable that NBC’s Michael Benboss tweeted about it, which catapulted the Twittersphere into wild theory and conspiracy manufacturing mode. Considering the unprecedented events of the last week on Capitol Hill, this is hardly surprising. So, I wrote a tweet thread on the topic that tried to explain what folks were seeing. Although the explanations are far less entertaining than what some may hope, many seemed to appreciate the commentary and background, so I thought I would adapt it and do a formal post on the matter.

There are two major possibilities here to point out, and both of them being accurate simultaneously is actually more probable than not. Keep in mind that none of this is definitive, but it should go a long way in helping to explain what folks were likely seeing, and calm some nerves in the process. . .

Part of HMX-1’s role in COG operations includes quickly snatching POTUS and the VP and whisking them away to highly secure remote facilities were a major threat to emerge. This highly challenging action has to occur in a manner of minutes. This is partially why HMX-1 has a heavily guarded forward operating location at Naval Support Facility Anacostia, which is located just three miles from the White House. The unit is otherwise based 30 miles south of the Capital in Quantico, Virginia. With all this in mind, practice is important, especially considering the state of play in the Capital at this time. In fact, one could argue it is more critical now than at any time in recent memory. . .

The practice of primarily using the motorcade to get the Vice President where he needs to go, and especially from his residence to the White House and the Old Executive Building, is among the most obvious security changes that should happen, and we can only hope that it has. The alternative to the motorcade’s armored vehicle procession is using HMX-1’s White Tops. This would result in a sudden spike in helicopter activity at the Vice President’s residence. It may demand some additional training for HMX-1 crews in order to support the new transportation regime over the coming days. U.S. Internet Provider To Block Twitter, Facebook; Facebook Removing All Content That Mentions ‘Stop the Steal’ Ahead of Inauguration Day

By The Blaze. Twitter and Facebook just got a digital glove to their faces. . .

In the wake of Twitter and Facebook banning President Donald Trump following the U.S. Capitol siege that leftists — and some conservatives — say Trump incited, an internet provider in Idaho says it’s blocking Twitter and Facebook for customers who request it, KREM-TV reported.

The station said Your T1 WIFI provides internet services to North Idaho and the Spokane, Washington, area — and that it got calls from customers about both social media sites. . .

At first the internet provider said it would block Facebook and Twitter outright unless customers specifically asked Your T1 WIFI to allow Twitter and Facebook to be viewed — but KREM said the internet provider changed its approach Monday and said Twitter and Facebook would be blocked only for those who request such an action. Facebook Removing All Content That Mentions ‘Stop the Steal’ Ahead of Inauguration Day

By The Epoch Times. Facebook announced on Monday it is removing all content that contains the phrase “stop the steal” ahead of President-elect Joe Biden’s Inauguration Day on Jan. 20.

The company issued a statement saying it was removing content containing the phrase that was used by supporters of President Donald Trump to question the integrity of the 2020 general election. Trump supporters held multiple rallies across the country called “Stop the Steal” following the Nov. 3 election.

The social media company said that the move is an attempt to remove content that “could incite further violence during these next few weeks.” Content will be removed under the company’s Coordinating Harm policy.

“We’ve been allowing robust conversations related to the election outcome and that will continue,” Facebook officials Guy Rosen and Monika Bickert said in a statement. (Read more from “Twitter Shares Tumble More Than 10% After Site Permanently Bans Trump” HERE)

Computer Repairman Who Brought Forward Hunter Biden’s Laptop Files Lawsuit

The Delaware computer repairman who stepped forward earlier this year with information about nefarious information on a laptop that both the DOJ and the FBI confirmed belonged to Hunter Biden, on Tuesday filed a $500 million lawsuit against Twitter.

According to the shop owner, John Paul Mac Isaac, Twitter’s suppression of the New York Post story about the laptop branded him as a “hacker.” The information found on the laptop is now part of a federal tax evasion probe, Attorney General William Barr revealed earlier this month.

The lawsuit, which was filed in Miami, was tossed out because of jurisdiction issues, the New York Post reported.

Mac Isaac is suing Twitter for defamation in US District Court, claiming the company decided to “communicate to the world that [Mac Isaac] is a hacker.”

But Miami federal Judge Beth Bloom quickly dismissed the case on Monday, ruling that “the Court lacks subject matter jurisdiction” because the suit says Mac Isaac is a citizen of Delaware and Twitter is incorporated there.

Twitter Refuses To Explain Why It Promoted a Chinese Company That Allegedly Tracks Minorities

Twitter refused to explain to the Daily Caller News Foundation why it is promoting a Chinese tech group that allegedly tracks Uigher Muslims.

The DCNF reached out to Twitter multiple times on Tuesday asking why Twitter promoted a Huawei Christmas tweet. A confidential Huawei “interoperability report” obtained by IPVM allegedly found that the Chinese technology companies Huawei and Megvii worked together to test software that would recognize Uigher Muslims and then alert the police.

The report was formerly public on Huawei’s website, though it was marked confidential, and the company deleted it after IPVM reached out for comment, according to IPVM.

Twitter declined to explain to the DCNF why it allowed the promotion of the Huawei tweet. (Read more from “Twitter Refuses To Explain Why It Promoted a Chinese Company That Allegedly Tracks Minorities” HERE)

Democrats Decided To Test How Effective Lincoln Project Viral Twitter Ads Were, and It Did Not Go Well

A left-wing political action group that tested the efficacy of the viral Twitter ads from the Lincoln Project were surprised to find that they weren’t effective at all.

The Lincoln Project, a super PAC composed of former Republican operatives who are anti-Trump, garnered millions of dollars of support from those on the left while earning scorn and derision from supporters of the president.
But when one of the top Democratic political PACs decided to test their viral Twitter ads, they discovered that the money had not been spent well. . .

Priorities USA wanted to see if something going viral on Twitter could be a substitute for ad testing that would show whether an ad is persuasive or not. Instead they found the opposite:

According to Nick Ahamed, Priorities’ analytics director, the correlation of Twitter metrics—likes and retweets—and persuasion was -0.3, “meaning that the better the ad did on Twitter, the less it persuaded battleground state voters.” The most viral of the Lincoln Project’s ads—a spot called Bounty, which was RTed 116,000 times and liked more than 210,000 times—turned out to be the least persuasive of those Priorities tested.

Twitter CEO: Company Was ‘Wrong’ to Censor Hunter Biden Story (VIDEO)

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey said on Tuesday that Twitter was “wrong” to censor the New York Post and its news stories on Hunter Biden, the son of former Vice President Joe Biden.

Dorsey appeared virtually on Capitol Hill to testify over his company’s enforcement actions against the news outlet, as well as on other issues related to social media censorship. Dorsey was called to testify in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee over why his social media company chose to censor news stories on the son of the Democratic nominee for president weeks away from an election.

“We were called here today because of an enforcement decision we made against the New York Post based on a policy we created in 2018 to prevent Twitter from being used to spread hacked materials. This resulted in us blocking people from sharing a New York Post article publicly or privately,” Dorsey said. “We made a quick interpretation using no other evidence that the materials in the article were obtained through hacking, and according to our policy, we blocked them from being spread. Upon further consideration, we admitted this action was wrong and corrected it within 24 hours.” . . .

The social media company censored the story, preventing anyone from tweeting or direct messaging the article’s URL. The platform also locked accounts that shared the article. Dorsey later admitted that his company’s actions, first taken without giving an explanation, were “not great,” but refused to unlock the Post’s Twitter account for weeks afterward, even after reversing course on their “hacked materials” justification for censoring the story.

Why Twitter Won’t Let People Share Sworn Court Documents Alleging Voter Fraud

If you thought Twitter’s censorship of reported Joe Biden family corruption or frequent flagging of the U.S. president’s tweets were isolated incidents, think again. Big Tech’s efforts to shield favored political figures and positions from scrutiny have only increased.

You and I can find ourselves branded with censorious labels even for sharing court documents containing sworn testimony, should the offending share touch any of a growing number of third rails. Today, the integrity of the 2020 presidential election is the greatest third rail of them all. . .

Twitter, on the other hand, is in no position to do so. Yet after my tweet started circulating widely, suddenly the purported non-publisher stepped in and made its own ruling: “This claim about election fraud is disputed.” . . .

But this argument about voter fraud is irrelevant to the tweet at hand. Twitter’s position has nothing to do with what an individual attests to in sworn testimony delivered to a state circuit court. Who is Twitter to be challenging these claims? Can it not handle any evidence that conflicts with its Official Narrative?

. . .Big Tech shows us that establishment cannot tolerate dissenting views from its prevailing orthodoxy, whether about the 2020 election, the Chinese coronavirus, climate change, or myriad other issues about which reasonable people of good faith can have completely conflicting views.

Social Media Giants Substantially Increase Censorship of Pro-Trump Postings

Twitter Censors 6 Trump Posts in 24 Hours

By Breitbart. Twitter has actively censored six of President Donald Trump’s posts over the 24 hours between Thursday midmorning and Friday. Twitter’s censorship can lower the engagement of a Trump tweet by more than 80 percent, according to one recent analysis of their performance.

Over the past 24 hours, social media platform Twitter has censored six of the President’s latest posts, and will likely censor more as the President raises doubts over voter fraud. Just yesterday Breitbart News reported that of President Trump’s 22 posts on Facebook and Twitter, 11 were censored by the Silicon Valley Masters of the Universe. Now, Jack Dorsey’s company has censored a further six tweets by the President, dramatically lowering their engagement.

Facebook Censorship: Platform Will ‘Temporarily Demote’ Posts That Share ‘Election Misinformation’

By Breitbart. Tech giant Facebook laid out its censorship plan on Thursday, stating it would begin demoting content that its “systems predict may be misinformation” relating to election fraud.

Forbes reports that Facebook has announced that it plans to demote content “our systems predict may be misinformation” relating to election fraud. A Facebook spokesperson told Forbes that the social media company is “seeing more reports of inaccurate claims about the election” and “while many of these claims have low engagement on our platform, we are taking additional temporary steps.”

The spokesperson told Forbes that Facebook would be taking a number of actions including “demotions for content on Facebook and Instagram that our systems predict may be misinformation, including debunked claims about voting” and “limiting the distribution of Live videos that may relate to the election on Facebook.” (Read more from “Facebook Censorship: Platform Will ‘Temporarily Demote’ Posts That Share ‘Election Misinformation’” HERE)

Liberal Pressure Groups Urge Twitter to Ban Trump

By Breitbart. As votes continue to be counted in the 2020 presidential election, liberal pressure groups are demanding that Twitter ban the account of President Donald Trump. . .

Via the Hill:

The Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law and the watchdog group Common Cause issued a joint request Thursday for Twitter to temporarily suspend President Trump’s account over the spread of disinformation about the election.

The groups sent a joint letter to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey calling for Trump’s account to be suspended over “repeated violations” of the platform’s Civic Integrity Policy.

Democrats Urge Twitter to Suspend Trump Until Ballots Counted

Democratic lawmakers want Twitter to suspend President Trump’s account until all the ballots have been counted in the 2020 presidential election.

Virginia Rep. Gerry Connolly said on Twitter that Trump’s claim that he has won Pennsylvania, Georgia and North Carolina before counting is finished is “pure disinformation,” Fox Business reported.

“Suspend his account, @Twitter,” Connolly wrote. “Valid votes are being counted. This is America, not Russia.”

Rhode Island Rep. David Cicilline called Trump’s tweet Wednesday “a threat to our democracy.”

Politico reported Democratic vice presidential nominee Sen. Kamala Harris previously called for Twitter to block the president. (Read more from “Democrats Urge Twitter to Suspend Trump Until Ballots Counted” HERE)

Twitter Will Slap a Warning Label on Tweets Claiming Election Results Before They’re Officially Declared

Social media giant Twitter previewed on Monday a warning label that it would place on tweets that announce the results of the election before official sources declare the results.

Calling all Americans to take back our constitutional freedoms
The policy is meant to undermine the spread of misinformation about election results at a time when President Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden are warning their supporters about false election results.

“We may label Tweets, starting on election night, that make claims about election results before they’re officially called. We’ll be prioritizing the presidential election and other highly contested races where there may be significant issues with misleading information,” read a statement from Twitter. . .

Other accounts eligible for the warning label are those in the U.S. that have more than 100,000 followers, or tweets that have “significant engagement,” which they define as having more than 25K likes or 25K quote tweets and retweets.

Twitter laid out the official sources of election results upon which they would rely to employ labeling. These include state election official results, and news outlets like Fox News, ABC News, the Associated Press, CNN News and NBC News.
