Loco in MOCO: The Newest Illegal Alien Arrested for Rape in Montgomery County Had Criminal History, Could Have Been Deported

Another day, another alleged rape in sanctuary Montgomery County, Maryland, that was 100 percent avoidable if our laws were actually enforced.

My colleague, Nate Madden, wrote about yet another illegal alien rape suspect arrested in Montgomery County, Maryland. Oluwakayode Adewole Adebusuyi, 26, is accused of raping a woman in Silver Spring on August 24.

But that’s not the full story. According to Maryland court records, Adebusuyi was arrested almost exactly one year ago on similar rape and assault charges. He was charged with three counts of sexual assault, kidnapping, and one count of second-degree assault on August 28, 2018, in Montgomery County, according to Maryland court records. However, local media is reporting that the victim did not want to pursue charges, so the county dropped the case.

Sadly, this happens all the time throughout the country as more and more violent criminals get released back on the streets. But this is where his immigration status makes all the difference. How on earth can someone who is here illegally get arrested on rape charges – whether he is convicted or not – and not be immediately turned over to ICE? How is it that a citizenship question is not standard during arrest? I am asked all the time if I’m a citizen of the United States when interacting with much less consequential functions of government and the private sector. Our laws are designed to ensure no illegal alien can be shielded from detection, much less one who actually comes into law enforcement custody on rape charges. By definition, that means that this alleged subsequent rape was 100 percent avoidable.

It’s truly hard to imagine a more profound display of anarchy that needlessly endangers public safety than states refusing to abide by an unquestionable federal power in order to shield other countries’ sex offenders and serious criminals from detection. In August, ICE arrested a convicted child sex offender who was released multiple times by Boulder County, Colorado. Oregon has also let out criminal aliens charged with child sex offenses, against ICE detainers. Mecklenberg County, North Carolina, has released numerous violent offenders, including Oscar Pacheco-Leonardo, who was arrested on first-degree rape of a minor. In total, sanctuary jurisdictions in the Tarheel State released nearly 500 criminal aliens over the past 10 months in violation of ICE detainers.

The bottom line is that with the increasingly lenient criminal justice system, there are six ways from Sunday for even the worst offenders to escape justice. This is where immigration policing is so important, because we shouldn’t have to be on the hook for repeat crimes by illegal aliens. They should be removed from the country upon their first arrest. Local law enforcement that is constantly dealing with repeat offenders should relish the opportunity to get rid of other countries’ criminals.

In this particular case, in addition to the August 2018 arrest on rape charges, Adebusuyi had his driver’s license suspended in Fairfax County, Virginia, another sanctuary jurisdiction, last January after numerous driving infractions. He was also charged last year with credit card larceny and attempted identity theft. How can so many illegal aliens be known to law enforcement and not be deported? This is pure anarchy.

Furthermore, the fact that local law enforcement says he worked for various ride-share companies raises other unsettling questions. How was a man like this able to get a job, especially with a suspended driver’s license on his record?

Trump would be wise to make a budget fight over defunding sanctuary cities. There are endless examples for him to harness that are much greater and more compelling than what Democrats are using to push gun control. They cannot point to a single law that would have prevented any of these mass shootings. On the other hand, simply enforcing existing immigration law would ensure that the first crime committed by an illegal alien in this country is the last one. That’s a heck of a lot of lives saved. ‘Angel Mom’ Booed While Testifying About Son Killed by Illegal Alien

Last week, Boston mother Maureen Maloney was booed while testifying about the death of her son Matthew Denice, who was killed in 2011 by a drunk-driving illegal with a criminal history. Maloney was testifying at the State House in opposition to a bill seeking to grant driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants.

“At the start of her testimony, Maloney held up a photo of Matthew and recalled how he was killed by an illegal immigrant drunk behind the wheel. About halfway into her 3 minutes of testimony, a man behind Maloney booed the grieving mother,” the Boston Herald reported.

“It just made me more determined,” Maloney told the outlet. “I don’t want other people to lose their lives like Matthew did. I don’t want other families to go through the heartache that my family deals with. And that’s where I get the strength and the stamina to keep doing this.”

This was not the first time the “Angel Mom” has been booed while discussing the tragic death of her son. “A few years ago, Maloney spoke out against a similar proposal, and a senator had given her his additional three minutes to testify. When Maloney went over the three minutes, she said people in the audience began booing and hollering that her time was up,” the Herald reported. . .

After Beto’s Vulgar Rant, DNC Warns Candidates Not to Swear

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) sent a letter to qualifying campaigns ahead of its third presidential primary debate, warning the Democratic presidential candidates not to use vulgar language while on the debate stage.

“We wanted to take this opportunity to remind you that, as the debate will air on the ABC broadcast network, we are governed by Federal Communication Commission indecency rules,” the DNC wrote in a letter obtained by Axios. “We will not be broadcasting on any delay, so there will be no opportunity to edit out foul language. Candidates should therefore avoid cursing or expletives in accordance with federal law and FCC guidelines.”

The letter comes as former Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-TX) has been receiving attention for the uptick in curse words that he has been espousing while on the campaign trail.

The failed Texas U.S. Senate candidate first made headlines with his vulgar language while conceding the statewide race to Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) as part of the 2018 midterm election cycle.

“All of you showing the country how you do this — I am so f***ing proud of you guys,” O’Rourke told the crowd in November. While he received wild cheers at the time, he later swore that he would no longer curse after announcing his bid for the presidency.

Trump’s Primary Challengers Hit Another Roadblock

I know it may not seem like it, but President Trump is facing primary challenges. It’s ridiculous. They’re not going to be successful. But hey, it’s a free country, and if former GOP Gov. Bill Weld, who ran on the Libertarian ticket last year and pretty much encouraged people to vote for Hillary, and Rep. Joe Walsh want to be the dunce cap crew this cycle—then let them. Trump has aptly called these people the “three stooges.” They’re not going to win. President Trump has solid approval ratings among Republican Party members. We have a nominee. We don’t need to waste time depleting money and more importantly, time, on this silly contest. This isn’t Carter in 1980. Let’s get a grip.

And these three are no-names. There’s no money, no exposure, no national constituency with these three would-be challengers. Joe Walsh, Weld, and Sanford cannot win a national election. We already have the war chest filled, the infrastructure set, and the base juiced to re-elect Donald Trump; enough of this circus. The party isn’t stupid. They know this is ridiculous. There is a GOP consensus candidate on who should be the nominee in 2020, and that person is President Donald J. Trump. Arizona recently joined states that are nixing their primary contests because…well, they’re not necessary this year. And this isn’t unprecedented either. The Arizona Republican Party officially canceled its 2020 presidential primary contest on Monday, joining several other state Republican parties.

State Republican Party Chairwoman Kelli Ward confirmed the party’s decision in a letter to Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs obtained by The Hill.

Support For Gun Control Declines After Texas Shooting

We’re still reeling from a rather violent spate of mass shootings. El Paso, Texas Dayton, Ohio, and Odessa, Texas each saw some lunatic commit senseless acts of violence. Still, mass shootings are still rare. Violent crime is still down. And rifles still commit the smallest share of gun deaths. It’s well below 500. And yes, it’s a numbers game. It shouldn’t be, but the anti-gun Left decided to combine homicides with suicides to inflate the numbers and manufacture a narrative that the U.S. is a shooting gallery. It’s not. And neither are our schools, which have never been safer.

Firearms reporter Stephen Gutowski of The Washington Free Beacon wrote today that despite these shootings gun control is trending downward, though expanding background checks remains high (via Free Beacon):

Polls from Quinnipiac University and an ABC News/Washington Post partnership asked about the gun control debate in America and specific gun control proposals. Both polls showed a general downward trend in support for new gun control measures even in the immediate aftermath of mass shootings in Texas and Ohio.

Neither poll found heightened enthusiasm for any gun control proposal which had been polled more than twice. Instead, they found support for gun control policies either relatively stable or declining, though still substantial.

The September 5 ABC/Washington Post poll found support for “a nationwide ban on the sale” of undefined “assault weapons” fell 6 points from last April. It now sits at 56 percent support, up 9 points from its low in 2015 but a full 24 points down from its high point in 1994, when the federal assault weapons ban went into effect. The August 29 Quinnipiac University poll had similar results on an identically worded question with support dropping 3 points to 60 percent since May 22, 2019, and down 7 points from its highest level on February 20, 2018.

To Prevent Mass Shootings, Trump Looks into ‘Controversial’ Proposal

By Daily Wire. The Trump White House is looking into a cutting edge but “controversial” proposal that seeks to prevent mass shootings prompted by mental illness.

With studies finding that about a quarter of mass shooters have been diagnosed with some form of mental illness, Trump has repeatedly pointed to psychological as well as ideological causes behind many mass shootings. In his speech following the horrific shootings in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, Trump outlined a series of steps his administration is promoting to address the growing problem, including “reform[ing] our mental health laws to better identify mentally disturbed individuals who may commit acts of violence, and mak[ing] sure those people not only get treatment, but when necessary, involuntary confinement.” He added, “Mental illness and hatred pulls the trigger, not the gun.”

One of the new ways of proactively addressing the issue that the administration is considering involves the development of a new research agency and the use of a technology that will help detect those suffering from mental illness who may pose a risk to themselves or others.

“The White House is considering a controversial proposal to study whether mass shootings could be prevented by monitoring mentally ill people for small changes that might foretell violence,” The Washington Post reported Monday.

The proposal, presented by former NBC Chairman and long-time Trump associate Bob Wright, seeks to create a new agency called HARPA to “come up with out-of-the-box ways to tackle health problems,” the Post reports. Ex-DNC Official: Trump’s Position on Gun Control Is Unclear, He Has Backed Away from Changes in past

By Fox News. As House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority leader Chuck Schumer wait for President Trump to make a move on gun control legislation, former DNC communications director Mo Elleithee said Monday the commander-in-chief has appeared ambivalent on the issue.

Elleithee told Dana Perino on “Daily Briefing” that “the president has sort of danced with this a little bit in the past, only to back away.”

He added that Trump held a “meeting with a bipartisan group of senators saying he was in favor of background checks” — but then “pulled back after talking to the National Rifle Association.”

Calling the moment “critical,” Sen. Chuck Schumer and Speaker Nancy Pelosi sent the president a letter Sunday urging him to expand background checks and use his influence to sway Republicans in the Senate who blocked the bill passed by the House earlier this year. Church Vandalized After Opposing Drag Queen Story Hour

A Los Angeles area church was vandalized over the weekend after opposing city-run events where men dressed in drag read books to children at public libraries.

A pastor of the South Bay Pentecostal Church said he believes “there is no doubt” the crime was committed against the house of worship for their opposition to “Drag Queen Storytime,” according to ABC 10 News San Diego. . .

“Sure enough, at every corner there were phrases, hateful words, and graffiti on the walls of our church,” said pastor Amado Huizar. The messages were reportedly “associated with Satan,” according to the ABC affiliate.

“Huizar said the church’s surveillance system captured two men parking their sedan in the church parking lot at around 3:00 a.m. Sunday and walking toward the building,” the report detailed. “Fifteen minutes later, they are seen jumping back into the car with what looked to be spray cans in their hands.” . . .

“The Chula Vista Public Library said this is a reflection of our community. Last week, the Duke of York made an appearance at a ceremony marking the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Bruges. During the outing, a Sky News journalist ambushed the dad of two with a question related to Jeffrey Epstein’s scandal.

“Prince Andrew, will you cooperate with lawyers in America?” the journalist asked. However, Prince Andrew didn’t say anything even though it was evident that he actually heard the question.

A photo of Prince Andrew from his recent outing was also published online by Express. In the snap, it is evident that Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip’s third child has lost a considerable amount of weight.

And the once handsome “playboy prince” also looks stressed. Prince Andrew’s eyebags are also quite bigger than before. Sarah Ferguson’s ex-husband must be stressing over the possibility of being interviewed regarding Epstein. MIT Media Lab chief out after ‘deeply disturbing’ link to Jeffrey Epstein

By USA Today. The head of the the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s embattled Media Lab has resigned and the school has opened an investigation into “deeply disturbing” links between the lab and disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, MIT’s president has announced.

The fallout comes three weeks after another senior lab employee said he would resign in protest over revelations lab director Joi Ito took money from Epstein, who apparently committed suicide in jail last month.

Ito, who also taught at the prestigious school, resigned Saturday, hours after an article in The New Yorker detailed how the lab accepted gifts from Epstein despite being listed as “disqualified” in MIT’s official donor database. The article said the lab listed Epstein’s contributions as anonymous and avoided disclosing to the school the full extent of his involvement.

MIT President L. Rafael Reif issued a statement calling the accusations “extremely serious” and said MIT’s general counsel was hiring a prominent law firm to conduct an investigation “as swiftly as possible.”

Last week, Ito disclosed that he had received $1.2 million from Epstein for investment funds Ito controlled in addition to a $525,000 donation to the lab. The New Yorker said Epstein also secured at least $7.5 million in donations, including $2 million from Microsoft founder Bill Gates and $5.5 million from Leon Black, a wealthy equities manager and chairman of the Museum of Modern Art. Study: Fewer People Are Getting Married. the Reason Why Is Stunning

Let’s turn, then, to the large brains at Cornell University to enlighten us as to why.

Their new study, tantalizingly entitled Mismatches In the Marriage Market, tried to examine what might lie behind the trend toward more people living non-married lives. . .

Yet that same Pew Research poll cited another important aspect:

About seven-in-ten adults (71 percent) said it was very important for a man to be able to support a family financially to be a good husband or partner, while just 32 percent said the same for a woman to be a good wife or partner.

Mismatches in the Marriage Market

By Wiley Online Library. . .This study identifies recent marriages from the 2008 to 2012 and 2013 to 2017 cumulative 5‐year files of the American Community Survey. Data imputation methods provide estimates of the sociodemographic characteristics of unmarried women’s potential (or synthetic) spouses who resemble the husbands of otherwise comparable married women. These estimates are compared with the actual distribution of unmarried men at the national, state, and local area levels to identify marriage market imbalances. . .

These synthetic husbands have an average income that is about 58% higher than the actual unmarried men that are currently available to unmarried women. They also are 30% more likely to be employed (90% vs. 70%) and 19% more likely to have a college degree (30% vs. 25%). Racial and ethnic minorities, especially Black women, face serious shortages of potential marital partners, as do low socioeconomic status and high socioeconomic status unmarried women, both at the national and subnational levels. . .

This study reveals large deficits in the supply of potential male spouses. One implication is that the unmarried may remain unmarried or marry less well‐suited partners.
