States Advance ‘Born Alive’ Abortion Restrictions

Two GOP- led state legislatures have advanced legislation that tightens restrictions on abortion with new “born alive” provisions that have enough support to override Democratic opposition.

The legislation in both states is similar to other “born alive” bills in state legislatures throughout the country that seek to protect fetuses from being aborted. Montana’s laws will take effect July 1; North Carolina’s bills are yet to pass the state legislature, though are likely to do so because Republicans hold a veto-proof majority.

In Montana, Republican Gov. Greg Gianforte signed five bills on Wednesday that would impose abortion restrictions. House Bill 544, the first bill signed, restricts Medicaid funding for abortion to only those procedures required to protect the life of the mother or if the pregnancy is the result of rape or incest, and only to such procedures performed by a physician. House Bill 862 bans public funding for any abortion in the state except those meeting these requirements.

House Bill 625, known as the “Infant Safety and Care Act,” is legislation that requires doctors to preserve the life of a child born following an attempted abortion, similar to a measure that Montana voters rejected in 2022. It mirrors several “born alive” bills passed by other Republican-led states and one passed by the current GOP-led U.S. House of Representatives. Female Lifeguard Applicant Who Identifies as Male Exposes ‘Bare Breasts’ in Front of ‘Several Dozen Children’ at City Pool

A transgender lifeguard applicant — a female who identifies as male — exposed “bare breasts” in front of “several dozen children” at a pool in Jacksonville, Florida, last week, WJAX-TV reported. . .

The station said the incident occurred at Cecil Aquatic Center during a group tryout for the lifeguard position and that the city received complaints.

Here’s a statement from the city about what happened, WJAX said:

This incident happened Thursday of last week at Cecil Pool. A transgender person, a female who identifies as male, removed their shirt exposing their bare breasts, and completed a portion of the training with 20 other trainees. While we cannot confirm the age of the individuals participating in the training, JaxParks recruits lifeguards starting at age 15. This occurred within view of several dozen children and their parents sharing the same pool at the same time.

Bud Light’s Sales Keep Plummeting After Partnering With Transgender Influencer Dylan Mulvaney

Bud Light’s sales have tanked in the month since it announced its partnership with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney.

In-store sales of the beer brand fell more than 26% in the week ended April 22, alcoholic beverage industry consultant Bump Williams told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

That’s after sales declined by 21% the week before and 11% before that, signaling the trend is only getting worse for parent company Anheuser-Busch ahead of the lucrative summer season.

“Bud Light is in serious trouble this year,” Mr. Williams told the newspaper. “I think it runs the risk of losing that No. 1 position at the end of calendar year 2023 to Modelo Especial.”

Mom Says She Realized Her Biological Daughter Was Trans Because She Liked Vegetables (VIDEO)

A Louisiana mother said in a House Health and Welfare Committee hearing on Tuesday that she knew that her biological daughter was transgender due to her liking vegetables.

The mother testified to the committee during discussions on House Bill 463, which would create the “Save Adolescents from Experimentation Act” and prohibit “certain procedures to alter the sex of a minor child.”

She said she knew that her biological daughter was a boy because her “food choices were odd. They were always like green vegetables, raw green vegetables.” The mother said she had taken her child to specialists and neurologists, and there were also brain scans to figure out why the child could not sleep.

She continued to say that her child’s patterns as a child and eating vegetables boosted testosterone, and they were “just methods of his body trying to become who he was meant to be.” The mother added that her child’s “brain does not match his physiology.”

Detransitioner Chloe Cole, who is known for her work fighting against sex change surgeries for minors, also spoke at the hearing. She spoke about her experience transitioning as a 13-year-old girl and called transitioning the “worst medical scandal in American history.”

Child Gender Clinic Trained Teachers to Help Transition Elementary School Kids

A representative of a child gender clinic trained teachers from two Pennsylvania school districts in 2019 and 2021 to help facilitate elementary school children’s gender transitions, according to documents obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation.

An employee of the Gender and Sexuality Development Program at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) met with faculty from Pennsbury School District and Council Rock School District, advising them on how to support students, including one in kindergarten, attempting to change their gender, according to documents obtained through a public records request. CHOP’s gender clinic has previously come under fire for referring kids as young as 14 years old for cross-sex surgeries, such as mastectomies or breast construction.

In 2021, Samantha King, the manager of education initiatives at CHOP’s gender clinic, met with elementary school staff at Pennsbury School District to discuss how to support an incoming kindergartner whom they referred to as transgender. Additionally, in 2019, King presented a PowerPoint to a handful of teachers from schools within Council Rock School District on helping gender-transitioning students in the district.

CHOP’s gender clinic provides children with medical interventions such as puberty blockers, which it prescribes to children as young as eight, according to statements and documents reviewed by the DCNF. In 2021, the clinic’s co-founders, Dr. Linda Hawkins and Dr. Nadia Dowshen, promoted “top surgery,” such as mastectomies or breast construction, for children. Children’s Hospital Offers Consultations on Transgender Treatments to Kids Younger Than 10

Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, a children’s hospital affiliated with Oregon Health & Science University, offers consultations on transgender treatments to children younger than 10, the Daily Caller has learned.

Doernbecher’s Gender Clinic offers patients up to 18 years of age consultations with puberty specialists and experts on hormone therapy, as well as a “gender-affirming environment,” according to their website.

The hospital notes that it follows the recommended guidelines for transgender-identified youth from the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH). WPATH, a leading advocate of child sex changes, recently pushed to remove any minimum age requirement to undergo sex change surgeries or cross-sex hormone therapy. WPATH also set standards of care for those with a “eunuch” gender identity in 2022, recommending orchiectomy, the removal of testicles, as a treatment option.

“Medical treatment usually doesn’t begin until puberty. This is commonly age 10 or 11. We are happy to meet with you and your child before that, though,” the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital’s website notes.

The hospital says it may recommend sex change surgeries for teens “before leaving for college.” The hospital also recommends puberty blockers as a way to give “adolescents time to explore their gender,” according to its website. Health Dept. Sits on Records Showing Two Babies Born Alive After Abortions, Three Women Dead

Indiana abortion records The Federalist obtained this week indicate that in 2022 three women died after abortion procedures and two babies were born alive after chemical abortions. They also suggest Indiana abortionists failed to report four abortions on girls aged 15 and younger, as legally required. One of the minors not referred for a state abuse investigation after her abortion, a violation of state law, was just 13 years old, the records say.

The Indiana Department of Health receives legally mandated Terminated Pregnancy Reports on each abortion committed in the state. More than 100 of these from January to November 2022 indicate that abortion facilities in the state may have committed crimes and health violations, according to recordkeeping from Voices for Life, a Hoosier pro-life organization.

IDH has shut down no abortion facilities since January 2022, however, even facilities where records show women died after abortions. As for the 22 abortionists named in these numerous recent reports indicating potential medical malfeasance, “I am not aware of any doctors who have lost their licenses,” Voices for Life Executive Director Melanie Garcia Lyon told The Federalist Wednesday.

IDH communications personnel did not respond to any questions about these records from The Federalist. . .

Indiana’s Republican governor and Republican-dominated legislature are poised to increase taxpayer funding for the health department by 2,000 percent this week, from $7 million a year to more than $150 million. IDH also pushed Indiana families into lockdown and covid testing chaos across two school years despite early-available evidence children were at low risk from Covid-19 exposure. Gov. Greg Abbott Does Not Seem Concerned That He’s Funding a Texas University Lab That Worked to Censor Conservatives

Texas Governor Greg Abbott declined to answer repeated questions from the Daily Caller News Foundation on whether he believes it is appropriate for taxpayer funds to support a Texas university’s project that worked to censor conservatives.

The University of Texas at Austin houses the Global Disinformation Lab, established in 2020 to research a “broad spectrum of information, misinformation, and disinformation via digital media.” The lab recently partnered with the Global Disinformation Index (GDI), which works to blacklist conservative news sites from ad exchanges, according to documents obtained by the Washington Examiner, for a research report released in December 2022.

Researchers from the UT Austin lab analyzed 69 news websites between June and October, finding conservative websites — including the New York Post, Reason, RealClearPolitics, The Daily Wire, The Blaze, OANN, The American Conservative, The Federalist, Newsmax and The American Spectator — most at risk for disinformation, according to the review. Meanwhile, liberal-leaning websites like The Washington Post, BuzzFeed News and The New York Times were rated “low” risk.

The Daily Caller News Foundation reached out to Governor Abbot’s office on seven occasions over the course of a week, asking his opinion on taxpayer funds going to the lab’s projects, as the university receives 24% of its funding from state and county support. Communications director Renae Eze provided a statement highlighting Abbott’s freedom of speech initiatives but did not address the question.

“The University of Texas is not currently partnering with the UK-based index and will not in the future,” Eze said. “Here in Texas, Governor Abbott has long-championed freedom of speech for Texans and Americans. In the last two legislative sessions, the Governor has fought for and signed legislation into law protecting Texans from wrongful censorship on social media platforms and protecting free speech on Texas’ college campuses. And just last month, Governor Abbott helped facilitate a pivotal agreement between Newsmax and DIRECTV to protect the right of conservative voices and viewpoints to be heard.” (Read more from “Gov. Trans Runner Beat 14K Women in London Marathon after Running NYC as a Man

A transgender runner is under fire for crediting “girl power” for beating nearly 14,000 others in the female category of the London Marathon — just months after racing in New York as a man.

Sports bra-wearing racer Glenique Frank — who ran the New York Marathon on Nov. 6 as Glen Frank — went viral after stopping to talk to a BBC reporter covering the UK race Sunday.

“London is the best!” the 52-year-old runner said of [his] 17th marathon, which last year included Tokyo and Chicago and will include all of the “six majors,” including Berlin and then Boston.

“Girl power!” Frank said of [his] marathon efforts while flexing [his] bulging biceps above rainbow-colored armbands.

Elementary Teacher Accused of Possessing Child Porn

An Atlanta-area teacher is facing multiple counts of possessing child pornography after investigators received a tip from the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children.

On April 14, someone from Washington state contacted the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children regarding the possible online sexual exploitation of a child by a teacher at Poole’s Mill Elementary School in Cumming, Georgia, about 40 miles northeast of the state capital. NCMEC then alerted the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit.

An investigation into the NCMEC tip led police to 38-year-old James Andrew “Drew” Cecil, who had been teaching fourth grade at Poole’s Mill Elementary for about two years. He also previously spent five years as a teacher and volleyball coach at North Forsyth High School in the same district.

Cecil was arrested last Friday without incident. He has been charged with nine counts of possession of child pornography and one count of sexual exploitation of a child. He was booked into Forsyth County Jail and assessed a bond of $55,200. He has likely been released on bond, as his name no longer appears on jail records.
