Donald Trump: ‘China Must Be Very Happy’ Democrats Using Coronavirus to ‘Screw up’ Election; Mike Pompeo: AG Barr Will Determine Whether to Postpone the Election

By Breitbart. President Donald Trump said Friday that China was likely delighted Democrats were trying to implement mail-in voting in the 2020 election, which he said would lead to a “catastrophic” result.

“They’re using the China virus, China must be very happy about it, because they hit us with a virus and now they screw up an election like you will never see,” Trump said about the Democrats.

The president spoke to reporters at the White House after hosting leaders of the National Association of Police Organizations on Friday to discuss law enforcement.

Trump previewed a disruptive Election Day on November 3, noting that it would take several days or even weeks to count all the ballots.

“It’s going to be a very, very sad day for this country,” Trump said. (Read more from “Donald Trump: ‘China Must Be Very Happy’ Democrats Using Coronavirus to ‘Screw up’ Election” HERE)

Mike Pompeo: AG Barr Will Determine Whether to Postpone the Election

By Law and Crime. President Donald Trump‘s baseless Thursday morning question about postponing the 2020 general election has been given new life. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo suggested the final decision on any such postponement hinges upon whether Attorney General Bill Barr and others at the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) can find a legal justification to change the date. . .

“You are one of the most highly trained and accomplished lawyers who are part of this administration,” Kaine summarized, “Can a president delay a presidential election?”

To which Pompeo replied:

In the end, the Department of Justice, and others, will make that legal determination. We all should want–I know you do, too, Senator Kaine–want to make sure to have an election that everyone is confident in.

. . .

“It should happen lawfully,” Pompeo said–the end of his thoughts on the matter. (Read more from “Mike Pompeo: AG Barr Will Determine Whether to Postpone the Election” HERE)

Trump Doubles Down, Warns November Will Bring ‘Greatest Election Disaster in History’

By Fox News. President Trump doubled down Friday on his warnings surrounding expanded mail-in ballots, declaring November will bring the “greatest election disaster in history” a day after he controversially suggested delaying the vote.

“They think they’re going to send hundreds of millions of ballots all over the United States and it’s gonna come out,” he told reporters at the White House following a meeting with members from the National Association of Police Organizations. “You won’t know the election result for week months, maybe years after. Maybe you’ll never know the election result. That’s what I’m concerned with – it’ll be fixed. It’ll be rigged. People oughta get smart.”

He suggested people vote in person or submit absentee ballots.

“This is going to be the greatest election disaster in history,” he continued on Friday. “And by the way, you guys like to talk to about Russia and China and other places? They’ll be able to forge ballots, they’ll forge them. They’ll do whatever they have to do.” (Read more from “Trump Doubles Down, Warns November Will Bring ‘Greatest Election Disaster in History'” HERE)

NIH Makes ‘Shrine’ to Dr. Fauci, Pelosi Praises Him; Takeaways From Fauci’s COVID-19 Testimony

By Breitbart. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) created a “shrine” to honor Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, according to a report on Friday.

Politico’s Playbook reported on Friday that people turned the areas by the NIH elevators into a “shrine” to honor Fauci[.]

The report follows as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) told White House chief of staff Mark Meadows and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin that coronavirus task force coordinator Deborah Birx was spreading misinformation.

“Deborah Birx is the worst,” Pelosi told Meadows and Mnuchin. “Wow, what horrible hands you’re in.”

However, she praised Fauci, saying he “came to his sense, and is now a hero.” (Read more from “NIH Makes ‘Shrine’ to Dr. Fauci” HERE)

Fauci appears more optimistic about vaccine prospects

Fauci, who heads the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said he was “cautiously optimistic” a vaccine would be approved by the end of the year, and widely distributed throughout 2021. . .

Teenager Arrested in Connection to Twitter Hack Targeting Barack Obama, Elon Musk, and Others

A 17-year-old from Tampa was arrested along with two men on Friday in connection to a breach of Twitter that took place earlier in July.

The FBI and the Justice Department believed Graham Ivan Clark was responsible for hacking the accounts of former President Barack Obama, presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, Elon Musk, and several other prominent users to push a Bitcoin scam.

Mason Sheppard of Bognor Regis in the United Kingdom and Nima Fazeli of Orlando, Florida, were also charged, according to the DOJ. Sheppard was charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud, conspiracy to commit money laundering, and the intentional access of a protected computer. Fazeli was charged with aiding and abetting the intentional access of a protected computer.

Authorities said Clark was the “mastermind” of the hack. The teenager raked in more than $100,000 in bitcoin in one day with the scam, according to the Hillsborough State Attorney’s Office. . .

Authorities believe Clark targeted Twitter employees “with access to internal systems and tools” on July 16 to gain access to the accounts of celebrities and politicians. Clark was given several charges, including one count of organized fraud, 17 counts of communications fraud, 10 counts of fraudulent use of personal information, and one count of access to a computer or electronic device without authority. AG Barr’s Testimony May Have Revealed Another Obama-Biden Scandal

Yesterday, Attorney General William Barr testified before the House Judiciary Committee on a wide range of topics spanning from the violent riots in Portland to the Supreme Court’s illegal immigrants decision. However, beyond the fact that Democrat members of the House Judiciary Committee had rehearsed pushing the “I reclaim my time” parliamentary mute button, Americans learned scant new information from Barr’s Tuesday testimony.

The rare exception came during an exchange with the ranking Republican on the committee, Jim Jordan, when Barr told the Ohio Republican he had tasked U.S. Attorney John Bash of Texas with investigating the high number of unmasking requests that took place during the Obama administration.

Jordan, who along with Republican Devin Nunes has long pushed for answers to the SpyGate scandal, queried the attorney general about the unmasking of Michael Flynn by some 39 officials in the Obama administration from November 8, 2016 to January 31, 2017. Former Acting Director of National Intelligence Ric Grenell made public the names of those officials two months ago when he declassified a memorandum identifying them. That list included “former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) director John Brennan, former DNI James Clapper, former White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough, and former Vice President Joe Biden.”

Would 39 separate individuals seeking to unmask the identity of Flynn between Trump’s election and the end of January be a “normal number?” Jordan asked. “Historically, that seems to be a high number,” Barr noted, adding “the other question you have to ask is why was this after the election.”

Jordan continued by noting that of those 39 Obama officials, seven people at the Treasury Department unmasked Flynn’s name. Is this an issue Durham is looking into, the ranking member asked, referring to Connecticut U.S. Attorney John Durham, whom Barr has tasked with investigating the targeting of the Trump campaign. Crime-Ridden Seattle Moves to Abolish ENTIRE Police Force

Well, it may be time to deploy the military to Seattle after all because what local lawmakers are doing is nothing short of allowing the city to be engulfed in violence and anarchy. They’re moving to abolish the police. It’s not defunding. It’s a total dissolution. Non-profit programs and “community-led activities” will replace policing. Why? Well, according to the resolution, the Seattle Police Department perpetuates racism and violence. Oh, yes, and it’s a vehicle of white supremacy. It’s typical ‘woke’ nonsense, and it’s a cancer that’s killing America.

Queen of Vote Fraud, Lisa Murkowski, Hammers Trump for Suggesting Presidential Election May Need to be Delayed, Insists Congress Keeps Elections “Safe and Secure”

By Breitbart. President Donald Trump on Thursday predicted the 2020 election would be the “most inaccurate and fraudulent” in history, and even suggested delaying it as Democrats continue promoting vote by mail during the coronavirus pandemic.

“Delay the Election until people can properly, securely and safely vote???” he asked on Twitter.

The president repeated mail-in voting was proving to be a “catastrophic disaster.”

“With Universal Mail-In Voting (not Absentee Voting, which is good), 2020 will be the most INACCURATE & FRAUDULENT Election in history,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “It will be a great embarrassment to the USA.”

The president also suggested mail-in voting would open up the 2020 election to foreign influence.

Queen of Vote Fraud, Lisa Murkowski, Derides Trump, Says Congress Has Been Ensuring “Safe and Secure Elections”

By Newsweek. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and other top Republicans flatly rejected President Donald Trump’s suggestion Thursday that the November elections should be delayed[.] . . .

Trump cannot simply “delay the election,” as he implied, because it would require congressional action. The date is set by an 1845 law and would require a constitutional amendment to postpone past December. And the president’s assertions about vote-by-mail fraud are unfounded, given the little evidence in the past few decades.

Senator Lindsey Graham, a Trump confidant, said that while he feels the president’s concerns about mail-in voting are “valid,” he believes “delaying is not the right answer.”

Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) also derided Trump’s claim. “There is absolutely no reason to delay this election, and it is not going to happen,” she wrote on Twitter. “It’s incumbent on us to ensure safe and secure elections, and that’s exactly what the Congress has been doing.” (Read more from “McConnell, Republicans Split with Trump, Say the Election Can’t Be Delayed” HERE)

Flynn Update: Full DC Appeals Court Reinstates Case Against Retired General

An appeals court has agreed to take up the case against retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, which the Justice Department is attempting to dismiss.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit issued an order on Thursday that states that oral arguments for the en banc review by the full appeals court are scheduled for Aug. 11, after a three-judge appeals court panel agreed with the Trump administration and Flynn’s legal team, ordering the district court to allow DOJ lawyers to drop the charges. The order vacates the one dealt by the smaller panel last month.

Judge Emmet Sullivan, who is overseeing the Flynn case, had filed a petition for a rehearing of the case against President Trump’s former national security adviser by the full appeals court.

Flynn, a target of the special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation, pleaded guilty in December 2017 to lying to FBI investigators about his December 2016 conversations with a Russian envoy, but after changing legal teams, Flynn began to claim he was innocent and had been set up by the FBI. After Attorney General William Barr appointed U.S. Attorney Jeffrey Jensen to review the Flynn case, who has unearthed a host of new documents deemed exculpatory by Flynn’s lawyers, the Justice Department engaged in an effort to get the case dropped.

The order Thursday extends the timeline of the legal fight closer to the November election. It may put more pressure on Trump, who told reporters this month he hopes Flynn is “going to be able to win it,” to consider a pardon for his former adviser.

Hurricane Center: Americans Should Start Preparing for Major Storm

The U.S. should prepare for “impacts from winds, heavy rainfall and storm surge” as Tropical Storm Isaias heads along its forecasted path toward the East Coast, the U.S. National Hurricane Center warned Thursday.

The storm, as of Thursday afternoon, was battering Puerto Rico with sustained winds of up to 60 mph and was about 85 miles southeast of Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic.

“There is a risk of impacts from winds, heavy rainfall, and storm surge along portions of the U.S. East Coast beginning this weekend in Florida and spreading northward to the Carolinas and southern mid-Atlantic states early next week,” the Hurricane Center said in an advisory, adding that “tropical storm or hurricane watches could be issued for portions of South Florida later today.”

Isaias will “produce heavy rains and potentially life-threatening flash flooding and mudslides across Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, northern Haiti, the Turks and Caicos, and the Bahamas” while making its way toward the U.S. . .

The storm so far has knocked out power to more than 400,000 clients across Puerto Rico and left about 150,000 customers without water, according to government officials. Widespread flooding and some small landslides also were reported there. (Read more from “Hurricane Center: Americans Should Start Preparing for Major Storm” HERE)

GOP Lawmakers Push Resolution Supporting Nation’s Law Enforcement Officers; Actor Tyler Perry: ‘We Need MORE Police’ (VIDEO)

By Fox News. Rep. Ken Buck, R-Colo., is introducing a resolution to express support for the nation’s law enforcement and reject efforts to defund the police.

“Democrat mayors and governors are allowing anarchists to burn our cities to the ground,” Buck said in a statement to Fox News. “The least we can do is offer our nation’s law enforcement officers our sincerest thanks and appreciation for their sacrifice to serve our communities regardless of the political winds of the day. Defunding the police will only make our cities less safe.”

A number of cities, such as Los Angeles and New York, have moved to divert massive amounts of money from law enforcement. Cities like Berkeley and San Francisco have moved to stop cops from conducting traffic stops. . .

Buck’s resolution currently has more than 20 cosigners. William Johnson, the executive director of the National Association of Police Organizations (NAPO), endorsed the legislation in a letter of support of it.

“With this resolution, you are standing up and acknowledging the dedicated and ethical services of the men and women in law enforcement. Today, officers are working in an untenable environment,” Johnson wrote. (Read more from “GOP Lawmakers Push Resolution Supporting Nation’s Law Enforcement Officers” HERE)

Actor Tyler Perry: ‘We Need MORE Police’

By The Hill. Actor and director Tyler Perry said Wednesday night that he does not support “taking money from the police department,” with the media mogul adding that he believes “we need more police” amid calls to defund departments nationwide.

“You gotta understand this: I am not for taking money from the police department. I think we need more police,” Perry said told CNN’s Anderson Cooper.

“My studio is in a neighborhood where I think we need police. But we don’t need police that are undertrained,” he added. Perry’s studio, one of the largest in the world, is located in Atlanta, at the former Fort McPherson Army base.

“I think we need the police. I know that I need the police. I have several that work for me here at the studio,” the 50-year-old star said. “We need them. But we need them reformed. We need them trained well, we need the right structure.”

Google Admits It’s Trying to Monopolize the Ad Market; Conservatives List Allegations of Big Tech Bias

By The Federalist. . .CEOs from Facebook, Amazon, Apple, and Google each sat before members of Congress who grilled the California captains of the tech industry over a wide range of issues from conservative censorship online to privacy concerns, but targeted their questioning with animosity against the companies’ apparent monopolization in a rare scene of bipartisanship in an era of historic polarization.

Google for example, was questioned over its phasing out of third-party tracking cookies by 2022 while Apple was criticized for removing parental control apps after introducing its own “screen time” feature.

At one point, North Dakota Republican Rep. Kelly Armstrong criticized Google CEO Sundar Pichai for the company’s threats to de-platform The Federalist over content on the website’s comment sections, despite its ownership of YouTube which is notorious for its nefarious comments. . .

“There were threats of demonetizing The Federalist and numerous other complaints of viewpoints and aggression,” Armstrong said. “It’s a legitimate question as to whether Google’s market power insulates it from loss of revenue normally associated with offending half the people who use your product. I also think it’s a legitimate question to ask if other attempts to regulate your industries have worked.” (Read more from “Google Admits It’s Trying to Monopolize the Ad Market” HERE)

Conservatives List Allegations of Big Tech Bias Amid Tense Hearing Appearance

By Fox News. House Republicans took tech CEOs to task over allegations that their companies intentionally blocked or otherwise censored conservative ideas. . .

Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., also piled on the tech giants, asking Zuckerberg why he fired Facebook exec Palmer Luckey after Luckey gave $10,000 to an organization opposing Hillary Clinton in 2016.

“When you fire people as a consequence of their politics, do you think that impacts the culture and perhaps empowers some of the content moderators to also treat people worse as a consequence of their politics?” Gaetz asked. Zuckerberg denied that he did this.

Later in the day, Jordan told Fox News’ Tucker Carlson what could happen to the tech companies if they engage in censorship.

“You got to work on Section 230, we’re looking at that,” Jordan said, referring to the law that says platforms such as Facebook and Twitter are not publishers and thus cannot be sued for statements other people make on their sites.
