Married Teacher Charged With Repeatedly Raping Student After Preaching About Consent

A married middle school teacher – who once posted about “helping kids understand consent” – was charged with raping a 14-year-old student in her car, prosecutors announced.

Melissa Rockensies, 32, was arrested Wednesday morning on allegations she had carried on a sick relationship with the boy at Corona Arts & Sciences Academy in New York City, where she was once the dean.

“These disturbing allegations represent an abuse of authority and a betrayal of the trust students and parents place in their schools,” Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said in a statement.

Rockensies was one of the victim’s summer school teachers and counselors when the alleged illicit relationship began, according to the criminal complaint.

The mother of three allegedly used her Instagram account to have “sexually related conversations” with the boy beginning in June 2022, the complaint says. (Read more from “Married Teacher Charged With Repeatedly Raping Student After Preaching About Consent” HERE)

Alex Murdaugh Will Plead Guilty to Stealing Millions From Disabled Clients Before Double Murder

Double-murderer Alex Murdaugh will plead guilty to stealing nearly $8 million from his disabled clients — marking the first time he’ll admit in court to committing a crime.

The disgraced South Carolina attorney — who is serving two life sentences for killing his wife and son — is set to change his “not guilty” plea during a Sept. 21 hearing for the federal case to avoid going to trial, according to court records filed Thursday.

It is not clear whether Murdaugh, 55, will be offered an agreement to drop any of the dozens of charges he faces, which include money laundering, wire fraud, bank fraud, conspiracy to commit wire fraud and bank fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud.

Each charge carries at least a maximum of 20 years in prison. Some have a maximum 30-year sentence.

The allegations served as a major crutch in the March case against Murdaugh for murdering his wife Maggie and son Paul on their colossal 1,772-acre South Carolina hunting farm in June 2021. Biden Looks to Cash In on Trump’s Booking: ‘A Great Day to Give to My Campaign’

. . .At the moment former President Donald Trump was being booked, fingerprinted and photographed at an Atlanta jail, President Biden was fundraising for no reason whatever.

“Apropos of nothing,” wrote Mr. Biden’s official account on X, the social-media platform previously known as Twitter. “I think today’s a great day to give to my campaign.”

The tweet, which included a link to Act Blue to “donate to the Biden-Harris campaign to fight back against MAGA Republicans” was sent at 7:30 p.m.

At that moment, cable-news networks were following Mr. Trump’s travel to and from Fulton County Jail to be processed in his fourth indictment, for trying to overturn Georgia’s 2020 presidential election result. ‘Another Dark Day’: Republicans Condemn Trump Arrest on Fulton County Charges

Republicans condemned the arrest of former President Donald Trump on charges related to his efforts to challenge the results of the 2020 election in Georgia.

Trump turned himself in at the Fulton County Jail to be booked after a grand jury indicted him Aug. 14, charging Trump and other associates, including Rudy Giuliani and attorneys Jenna Ellis, John Eastman and Sidney Powell. Trump is also facing two indictments from special counsel Jack Smith, who secured a four-count indictment of Trump relating to the 2020 election after he previously secured a 37-count indictment against Trump in June.

“Today is another dark day in U.S. history,” Republican Rep. Byron Donalds of Georgia tweeted. “A day when We The People & the world, will witness the continued weaponization of the justice system against a political opponent, former POTUS, & leading candidate for the upcoming presidential election. This is a travesty of justice.”

“91 charges is what dictators do,” former acting Director of National Intelligence Ric Grenell posted. “Joe Biden has unleashed a blow back like never before. Trump 2024 – save our country from the corrupted elites.” (Read more from “‘Another Dark Day’: Republicans Condemn Trump Arrest on Fulton County Charges” HERE)

Pentagon Shuts Down Theory About Plane Crash That ‘Likely’ Killed Putin Foe Prigozhin

U.S. officials said they believe Wagner mercenary group chief Yevgeny Prigozhin was likely killed in a plane crash Wednesday, as theories continue to swirl that the Russian government was involved in his death.

Speaking with reporters on Thursday, Pentagon Press Secretary Air Force Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder said the U.S. would not comment on whether Prigozhin’s death was part of a deliberate assassination.

“First of all, our initial assessment is that it’s likely Prigozhin was killed,” he said. “We don’t have any information to indicate, right now, the press reporting, stating that there was some type of surface-to-air missile that took down the plane. But, we assess that information to be inaccurate.”

Prigozhin was killed Wednesday in a plane crash that left 10 people dead outside of Moscow, state media reported. The business jet was traveling from the Russian capital to St. Petersburg when it went down in the Tver region, according to the TASS news agency. Donald Trump After Fulton County Arrest: This Is a ‘Travesty of Justice’

By Breitbart. Former President Donald Trump spoke to reporters shortly after surrendering into custody and being booked by Fulton County Sheriff’s Office. He declared that “What has taken place here is a travesty of justice.”

“I really believe this is a very sad day for America. This should never happen. You should be able to challenge an election. The election was a rigged election, the stolen election, and I should have every right to do that,” Trump told reporters.

Trump was booked on his fourth indictment in five months on Thursday after a Fulton County, Georgia, grand jury handed down a 98-page, 41-count indictment against Trump and 18 others.

Trump compared his situation to that of Democrats like Hillary Clinton and Georgia’s Stacey Abrams, who previously questioned the legitimacy of elections, yet never faced criminal prosecution. (Read more from “Donald Trump After Fulton County Arrest: This Is a ‘Travesty of Justice’” HERE)

DOJ Prosecutor Who Allegedly Refused to Charge Hunter Biden Made His Career Going After Financial Crimes

Biden-appointed D.C. U.S. Attorney Matthew Graves, who allegedly refused to charge Hunter Biden for failing to pay his taxes, made his career in the Department of Justice (DOJ) by going after financial crimes and corruption.

President Joe Biden nominated Graves to be the D.C. U.S. attorney in July 2021. Graves was confirmed in October 2021 after working in the private sector and as an assistant U.S. attorney in nation’s capital, where he handled cases against financial criminals and corrupt individuals, according to his official bio

In a questionnaire to the Senate Judiciary Committee, Graves listed the top 10 most significant cases he worked on, with four of his top five cases involving financial crime or corruption.

Graves’ top case, United States v. Commerzbank, was a settlement with the DOJ and German banking titan Commerzbank for its role in moving $263 million from sanctioned Iranian and Sudanese individuals through the U.S. financial system, Graves said. His second-ranked case was a similar sanctions avoidance scheme carried out by Crédit Agricole subsidiaries in Geneva, Switzerland, on behalf of entities in Sudan, Burma, Iran and Cuba.

The third case on Graves’ list was a corruption prosecution against former Democratic Illinois Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., who used large amounts of campaign funds for personal expenses and subsequently submitted “false and misleading” Federal Election Commission (FEC) reports. Graves’ fifth-ranked case was a prosecution against an individual who committed securities fraud as part of a years-long Ponzi scheme. There’s Another Election Coming, so COVID Surges Again?

The undue influences on the 2020 presidential election already have been documented: Mark Zuckerberg’s $400 million handout to election officials who often used it to recruit leftist voters. And the FBI’s interference when it falsely told media groups to censor accurate reporting about the Biden family’s international business schemes because it was Russian disinformation, when it wasn’t.

But the rampage of COVID-19 across the country also had an impact. Voting rules were changed, vote-counting procedures changed. voting periods extended until sometimes weeks after election day and more.

Now that the 2024 election is coming into view, it seems that COVID is surging again.

“Mandates are coming back just in time for the 2024 election cycle,” conservative Collin Rugg posted online. “What impeccable timing!”

A report at Just the News noted Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk cited new COVID restrictions are “just in time for Democrats to reinforce the importance of mass mail-in ballots.” (Read more from “There’s Another Election Coming, so COVID Surges Again?” HERE)

Jason Miller Predicts Debate Was ‘Death of Ron DeSantis’s Campaign’

Former President Donald Trump’s senior adviser Jason Miller claimed the first GOP primary debate would bring the end of Gov. Ron DeSantis’s (R-FL) presidential run. . .

“I heard someone earlier on the panel say Desanctimonious did OK. That’s not right,” Miller said on Meet the Press Wednesday. “We saw the death of Ron DeSantis’s campaign tonight as Vivek Ramaswamy leap-frogged him into second place. DeSantis, it didn’t do good enough for him to tread water. He had to have a breakout moment, and Ramaswamy completely outshone him. I knew President Trump wasn’t going to be there tonight. I didn’t know Ron DeSantis was going to skip the debate as well.” . . .

“President Trump looks like a genius by skipping the pig pile tonight,” Miller said. (Read more from “Jason Miller Predicts Debate Was ‘Death of Ron DeSantis’s Campaign’” HERE)

Ramaswamy Tops DeSantis as Best Performer in First Republican Debate: Poll

Entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy narrowly topped Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as the best-performing candidate in Wednesday’s Republican debate, according to a poll commissioned exclusively for The Post.

The post-debate survey of 1,800 people by Leger found that 23% of self-identified GOP voters said Ramaswamy won the debate and 21% said DeSantis emerged victorious. . .

“I think it’s interesting in the sense that you had one of the early front-runners, DeSantis, doing reasonably well, but you’ve also got a bit of an upstart coming in playing a bit of the outsider card,” Leger Executive Vice President Andrew Enns told The Post on Thursday evening.

The shadow of former President Donald Trump, however, looms large.

Of Republicans surveyed, 61% want to see the 77-year-old as the GOP nominee, nearly seven times the support given the next-highest polling contender, DeSantis (9%). (Read more from “Ramaswamy Tops DeSantis as Best Performer in First Republican Debate: Poll” HERE)
