U.S. On pace for ANOTHER Record Month in Illegal Immigration

After the new record numbers of family units coming to the border almost every month this fiscal year, some might have thought the crisis would have maxed out in April and the numbers would begin decreasing. But preliminary data from Customs and Border Protection (CBP) apprehensions so far in May show that numbers continue to skyrocket.

According to preliminary weekly data used internally by CBP and given to CR by a Border Patrol agent who must remain anonymous because he is not authorized to speak to the press, 71,834 illegal aliens were apprehended between points of entry in the state of Texas from May 1 to May 28. That works out to a daily pace of 2,565.5 per day or a flow of 936,408 annually – just in the state of Texas alone. One has to go back to fiscal year 2006 to find this level of annual apprehensions in all four border states combined.

This ensures that May will now crush April’s unfathomable numbers. The same internal, preliminary CBP data for April shows that 60,476 illegals were apprehended in Texas during an equivalent 28-day period from April 3 through April 30. That means that illegal immigration into Texas likely increased roughly 18.8 percent in May over April.

Overall, in April, almost 99,000 illegal immigrants were caught between points of entry at the entire southwestern border, in addition to roughly 10,000 inadmissible immigrants at points of entry. Given that approximately 60 percent of the aliens have been coming in through Texas and Texas’ numbers increased almost 19 percent in May, it’s likely that when the final numbers are tallied for the entire border, May will easily set another overall record. Axios is reporting that 75,000 families have arrived, absolutely blowing out the record 58,000 in April.

On Wednesday, a record 1,036 illegal immigrants came in one large group at El Paso, which is the most of any single group coming in at once. Clearly, the situation is getting worse, not better.

While the overwhelming majority of the illegal aliens hailed from the three northern triangle countries in Central America, there were also a number of people from other Latin American countries and even other parts of the world. There were 1,045 from Brazil, 1,787 from Cuba, 1,118 from Ecuador, and 1,301 from Nicaragua. This suggests that a number of people in other countries relatively close to the smuggling routes are catching on to the de facto open border for those coming in with a child.

There were also illegal aliens caught from countries of possible terror concern, including 67 from Bangladesh and 40 from Uzbekistan. Special interest aliens (SIAs) usually pay smugglers much more to get smuggled in while agents are tied down with Central American family units, so it’s very likely that the apprehension rate for those from countries of particular concern is lower.

Yesterday, Politico reported that the president would be announcing a shutoff of asylum for those who could have claimed asylum in Mexico or other countries. When reading the Immigration and Nationality Act and the UN treaty on refugees, it’s striking how they are all written in singular language referencing individuals claiming asylum. Nothing in our laws would ever define a mass cartel smuggling operation accounting for a significant percentage of a country’s population as asylum. It’s an invasion. Whether the president is prepared to treat it as such is yet to be determined, but the clock is ticking on his legacy. In 2015, when Trump referred to the border situation as making America a “dumping ground,” we were apprehending 38,000 illegal aliens per month. Now, we are seeing twice that number just in Texas alone. (For more from the author of “U.S. On pace for ANOTHER Record Month in Illegal Immigration” please click HERE)

Trump Admin Announces Rollback of Obamacare Reg That Defined Sex as Gender Identity

The Trump administration announced plans to roll back an Obamacare non-discrimination regulation that redefined discrimination “on the basis of sex” to include both gender identity and the termination of pregnancy, i.e. abortion.

In a Friday morning press call, Office of Civil Rights Director Roger Severino at the Department of Health and Human Services told reporters that the agency would move forward on reform of a rule enforcing section 1557 of Obamacare. The current regulation in question was issued during the waning months of the Obama administration in 2016, but blocked by federal judges before it could take effect.

“Plaintiffs will be forced to either violate their religious beliefs or maintain their current policies, which seem to be in direct conflict with the rule and risk the severe consequences of enforcement,” federal Judge Reed O’Connor wrote at the time.

To date, Severino explained Friday, the department during the previous and current administrations has been enjoined from enacting the Obama-era rule and now plans to replace it, bringing the department’s official enforcement mechanisms back in line with the original intent of the legislation passed by Congress.

“When Congress prohibited sex discrimination, it did so according to the plain meaning of the term, and we are making our regulations conform,” Severino explained in a statement.

“The American people want vigorous protection of civil rights and faithfulness to the text of the laws passed by their representatives,” the statement continues. “The proposed rule would accomplish both goals.”

The administration also claims that the announced rule change would come with the added benefit of saving the American taxpayer over $3 billion per year in regulatory compliance costs alone. An HHS fact sheet explains that the costs come from a part of the 2016 regulation that requires that “every significant publication in healthcare larger than a postcard sent to a member of the public” has to include a notice of non-discrimination and another notice translated into at least 15 different foreign languages.

The added postage and paper cost for those notices adds up, Severino says, but the notices have proven ineffective at their intended purpose of ensuring that people who speak other languages are more informed about health care policy.

“As a child of Hispanic immigrants, I know how vitally important it is that people receive quality healthcare services regardless of the language they speak, and this proposal grants providers the needed flexibility for achieving that goal,” Severino’s statement says, adding, “The American people are tired of unnecessary regulations getting in the way of access to affordable healthcare.”

Elsewhere in the administration, the Department of Housing and Urban Development also announced a rule change that would eliminate an Obama-era regulation transgender mandate requiring HUD homeless shelters to accommodate people based on gender identity rather than sex.

Democratic efforts to redefine sex discrimination to include gender identity and abortion protections didn’t end with the Obama administration; they’ve simply moved their fight from the executive branch to the legislative.

The Democrat-controlled House recently passed the “Equality Act,” which seeks to rewrite the definition of sex discrimination in federal civil rights law; it would also create a “a universal right to abortion, up until birth,” according to one Republican congresswoman. Judge Blocks ‘Heartbeat’ Abortion Law

A federal judge has temporarily blocked a Mississippi law that bans abortions once a fetal heartbeat can be detected, usually at the sixth or seventh week of pregnancy.

The law was scheduled to go into effect July 1.

“Here we go again,” wrote U.S. District Judge Carlton W. Reeves, an Obama-era appointee, in his opinion. “Mississippi has passed another law banning abortions prior to viability.” . . .

Reeves continued:

This Court previously found the 15-week ban to be an unconstitutional violation of substantive due process because the Supreme Court has repeatedly held that women have the right to choose an abortion prior to viability, and a fetus is not viable at 15 weeks lmp. If a fetus is not viable at 15 weeks lmp, it is not viable at 6 weeks lmp.

Companies Pledge Boycott of Georgia Over ‘Heartbeat’ Abortion Law

Three film industry companies thus far say they will no longer shoot in Georgia unless the state’s new “Heartbeat” abortion law is repealed.

David Simon’s Blown Deadline Productions, Killer Films CEO Christine Vachon, and Mark Duplass have vowed to boycott the state, noted Hollywood Reporter.

The three production companies, however, appear to be in the minority when Georgia is considered the “number one filming location in the world,” as Georgia Film, Music and Digital Entertainment Office’s deputy commissioner reported. . .

The report continued on what occurred after Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) signed the bill into law Tuesday:

[O]n Tuesday afternoon, there was near silence on social media from those who signed actress Alyssa Milano’s March 28 letter threatening that boycott. On Instagram and Twitter, pro-female voices in Hollywood were more likely posting about last night’s Met Gala or Jessica Chastain’s criticism of the portrayal of rape in “Game of Thrones,” than Georgia’s abortion rights.

Dem Rep Defends Shocking Remarks, Adds Trump Jr Should Have Been Aborted

Democratic Alabama State Rep. John Rogers went viral on Thursday for making some awful remarks about abortion.

“Some kids are unwanted, so you kill them now or you kill them later,” he stated while filibustering a pro-life bill in Alabama. “You bring them in the world unwanted, unloved, you send them to the electric chair. So, you kill them now or you kill them later.”

Just about everyone, including Donald Trump Jr., rebuked Rogers for his callousness. He concluded that what Rogers said was even worse than Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam’s infamous comments on babies who survive abortions.

How did Rogers respond? With another shocking remark.

Terrifying: This Is Now the Largest Religion in America

For the first time in history, atheists constitute the largest religious group in America. According to the General Social Survey, the number of Americans who have no religion has increased 266% over the past three decades and now account for 23.1% of the population, just barely edging out Catholics and Evangelicals as the nation’s dominant faith. Mainline Protestant churches have suffered the greatest collapse, declining 62.5% since 1982 and now comprising just 10.8% of the U.S. population.

As religiosity has declined, social ills have abounded. Nearly one in five American adults suffers from anxiety disorders, which now constitute the most common mental illness in the country. One in six Americans takes antidepressant drugs, a 65% surge over just 15 years. The problem is particularly acute among younger Americans. While depression diagnoses have increased 33% since 2013, that number is up 47% among Millennials and 63% among teenagers. Coincidentally, suicide rates among American teenagers have increased by 70% since 2006. American life expectancy declined again last year, as Americans continue to drug and kill themselves at record rates.

Social scientists have long since established the link between religiosity and life satisfaction. As social psychologist Sonja Lyubomirsky observes, people who attend religious services several times each week are nearly twice as likely as those who worship less than once a month to describe themselves as “very happy.” Such psychologists simply state the obvious: the belief that God loves you and that you will live with him in eternity offers greater consolation than the view of death as a dirt nap that stiffens you into worm food.

Religious people are also significantly more likely to engage in happy-making behaviors, such as getting and staying married. A study released in 2017 affirmed what countless others had already shown: married couples report higher life satisfaction than their single, divorced, and widowed neighbors. That satisfaction tends to last beyond the honeymoon and well into old age. (Read more from “Terrifying: This Is Now the Largest Religion in America” HERE)

Rep. Tlaib Endorses Boycott of Israeli University

When it comes to the Arab-Israeli conflict, Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., endorses boycott of Israel at all costs — even disregarding over 7,000 Arab college students at an Israeli university.

The newly elected congresswoman was photographed this week endorsing a boycott against a prestigious university in Israel. But this is not simply another Israeli university. The school that Rep. Tlaib is attempting to isolate has the highest proportion of Arab students in the entire country.

The University of Haifa has the largest percentage of Arab students in Israel: 41.1 percent of the 18,000 students enrolled there are Arabs, according to a 2017 Israeli government study. Rep. Tlaib is targeting a student population that contains over 7,000 Arabs.

Tlaib, an ethnic Arab whose parents grew up in territories controlled by the U.K. and later Jordan, identifies as a Palestinian national. She has fully endorsed a total boycott of the State of Israel. She has referred to the country as an apartheid state, claiming that the country suppresses religious and ethnic minorities. However, Israel’s Arab population is thriving. The government study shows that Arab-Israeli enrollment in the university system continues to break all-time highs year after year, and the number of Arabs students attending universities in Israel has grown over 79 percent since 2010.

Rep. Tlaib’s obsession with the world’s lone Jewish state became clear on her first day in Congress, when her staff replaced Israel with “Palestine” on a map in her office.

Her boycott against Israel is hardly the only evidence of the Michigan congresswoman’s Islamic supremacist bigotry. She has frequently advocated for radical groups and individuals on the campaign trail and during her time in Congress.

Tlaib’s personal associations show a disturbing trend. She has been photographed with supporters of U.S.-designated terrorist organizations in Hamas and Hezbollah. Moreover, she regularly keynotes fundraising events held by the Hamas-tied Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR). This weekend, she is scheduled to speak at a CAIR-Michigan fundraiser alongside a radical Imam who has described homosexuality as a “disease” and a “repugnant shameless sin” that should be punishable by death. Trump Grounds All Boeing 737 Flights, Along With Other Countries

On Wednesday, President Trump announced that the United States will ground all Boeing 737 Max 8 planes in the United States, joining the European Union, India, and China, among others, which have suspended flights by the airplane after the crash of an Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 Max 8 on Sunday that killed 157 people. Trump stated, “Those planes are grounded effective immediately. Safety is our paramount concern.” . . .

Last October, a Lion Air Boeing 737 MAX 8 flight was lost over the Java Sea, killing 189 people. After that incident, the FAA sent out an emergency airworthiness directive to carriers and pilots in training on the 737 MAX 8 “to disengage the aircraft’s automated controls if there are anomalies.”

As The Daily Wire reported on Tuesday, the European Union and India announced they were banning the Boeing 737 Max from flying over their airspace, according to the BBC. The United Kingdom and China had banned the airplane already; the FAA in the U.S. had said the plane was airworthy, although Southwest Airlines, which operates 34 Boeing 737 Max airplanes, the most of any in America, said passengers booked on any flight with that airplane will be permitted to change their reservations. American Airlines, which operates 24 of the planes, stated its “standard policies for changes still apply.”

India’s Ministry of Civil Aviation said the 737 would be grounded “immediately,” adding, “These planes will be grounded till appropriate modifications and safety measures are undertaken to ensure their safe operations.” The EU Aviation Safety Agency stated the flights would be banned “as a precautionary measure.” It also stated, “The accident investigation is currently ongoing, and it is too early to draw any conclusions as to the cause of the accident.” . . .

Boeing has described the 737 series, which includes the 737 Max 7, 737 Max 8, 737 Max9, and 737 Max 10. Each new edition features more seats, as the “most popular jet aircraft of all time.” The 737 Max 8 typically contains between 162-178 seats, with a maximum of 210. It has a range of 6,570 kilometers, or roughly 4082 miles. It is almost 130 feet long and has a wingspan of almost 118 feet. As with the other aforementioned planes, its engine is a LEAP-1B from CFM International. (Read more from “Trump Grounds All Boeing 737 Flights, Along With Other Countries” HERE)

Conservatives Outraged After Facebook Deletes Former Breitbart Editor’s Account

By The Hill. The deletion and subsequent restoration of the Facebook account of a former Breitbart editor sparked outrage from conservatives on Tuesday.

Raheem Kassam‏ tweeted early Tuesday that his account had been deleted. . .

Facebook said it had removed a page that violated its community standards for praise, and then accidentally removed the profiles of that page’s administrators.

It was not clear what page administered by Kassam was removed for violating Facebook’s community standards, or why it specifically was removed. . .

“How come it is only right wing/conservative accounts that get “removed in error” pending “investigations”?” Kassam tweeted after Facebook’s statement on his account was released. “And who watchers the watchers in this regard?” (Read more from “Conservatives Outraged After Facebook Deletes Former Breitbart Editor’s Account” HERE)

James O’Keefe Claims Proof Facebook Censored Conservatives

By Newsmax. James O’Keefe of Project Veritas says a former Facebook employee has proof the social media giant’s practices for limiting harassment and hate speech is designed to censor conservative accounts.

“It’s clear that Facebook is targeting the language of the right,” O’Keefe says in a video published to his site Wednesday. . .

“We fired this person a year ago for breaking multiple employment policies and using her contractor role at Facebook to perform a stunt for Project Veritas,” a [Facebook] spokesperson told The Verge. “Unsurprisingly, the claims she is making validate her agenda and ignore the processes we have in place to ensure Facebook remains a platform to give people a voice, regardless of their political ideology.” (Read more from “James O’Keefe Claims Proof Facebook Censored Conservatives” HERE)

Yes, Trump Anxiety Disorder Is a ‘Real’ Thing

. . .During normal times, therapists say, their sessions deal with familiar themes: relationships, self-esteem, everyday coping. Current events don’t usually invade. But numerous counselors said Trump and his convulsive effect on America’s national conversation are giving politics a prominence on the psychologist’s couch not seen since the months after 9/11—another moment in which events were frightening in a way that had widespread emotional consequences.

Empirical data bolster the anecdotal reports from practitioners. The American Psychiatric Association in a May survey found that 39 percent of people said their anxiety level had risen over the previous year—and 56 percent were either “extremely anxious” or “somewhat anxious about “the impact of politics on daily life.” A 2017 study found two-thirds of Americans’ see the nation’s future as a “very or somewhat significant source of stress.” . . .

Jennifer Panning, a psychologist from Evanston, Illinois, calls the phenomenon “Trump Anxiety Disorder.” She wrote a chapter on it in a collection by mental health experts called “The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump.” In an interview, she said the disorder is marked by such symptoms as “increased worry, obsessive thought patterns, muscle tension and obsessive preoccupation with the news.”

A study from the market research firm Galileo also found that, in the first 100 days after Trump’s election, 40 percent of people said they “can no longer have open and honest conversations with some friends or family members.” Nearly a quarter of respondents said their political views have hurt their personal relationships.
