FBI Reviewing Claims Against ‘Head-Twisting’ Abortionist

Allegations against a Texas abortionist by former employees that he killed infants who survived abortion by “slashing or twisting their necks” are being reviewed by the FBI, says a new report.

It was some six years ago that the pro-life activists at Operation Rescue released a report that included graphic images of dead victims and comments from former workers for Douglas Karpen.

They claimed he performed “illegal late-term abortions,” providing evidence “in the form of photos taken on their cell phones” at Karpen’s Houston abortion business. . .

Operation Rescue said it “later learned that grand jury was tainted by improper communications between then-District Attorney Devon Anderson and Karpen’s criminal defense attorney Chip Lewis, who were close family friends.” . . .

“The letter I received from the Department of Justice is encouraging. The photos depict wounds inflicted on those babies that could not have been done inside the womb. After having personally attended the Pennsylvania trial of Kermit Gosnell, who was convicted of murdering living babies after failed abortions, I knew we could never give up seeking prosecutions for Karpen’s similar crimes,” said Sullenger. “We are grateful for this new FBI investigation that has renewed our hope that Karpen may finally be brought to justice.” (Read more from “FBI Reviewing Claims Against ‘Head-Twisting’ Abortionist” HERE)

U2 Betrays Babies

Like a lot of generation Xers, I’m a huge U2 fan. They’re the closest thing my generation has to The Beatles. That’s why I was tremendously disappointed to see the popular band, which has Christian roots and whose lead singer even appeared on “Focus on the Family” a few years ago to share his faith, come out and urge voters in their native Ireland to repeal the nation’s pro-life law.

For a band that has been open about Christianity in song and deed, fighting for the downtrodden worldwide in numerous causes while infusing song lyrics with Christian themes and imagery over the years, it’s inexcusable for the band to urge Ireland to reject basic human rights for the most vulnerable among us — unborn children in the womb.

One of the band’s first hit songs, “Pride (In the Name of Love),” refers to Jesus Christ being “betrayed with a kiss.” Now the band has betrayed innocent children from their native country with a tweet in support of state-sponsored ritualistic killing. This has prompted some swift and harsh responses by their legions of pro-life fans who feel the band betrayed them as well.

Daniel Darling of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission for the Southern Baptist Convention put it this way: “After having poured out his voice for the vulnerable, [U2 frontman Bono] is turning his back on those precious souls who have no voice.”

Lest anyone think my associating the band with Christianity is another example of believers desperate for mainstream cultural acceptance so that they glom onto any celebrity who says something spiritual once, one website cited 79 specific Biblical/religious references in the band’s music catalogue. U2 also isn’t a case of some up-and-coming band whom people pinned some subtle religious hopes upon; the group just wrapped up the 30th anniversary tour of perhaps their greatest album, “The Joshua Tree,” in 2017.

Two of that album’s most famous songs are titled “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” and “Where the Streets Have No Name.” They have lyrics with explicit Scripture references like “I have spoken with the tongues of angels” (1 Corinthians 13:1) and been “beaten and blown by the wind” (James 1:6).

So this is not a band ignorant of the Word of God. Far from it. Given U2’s immense popularity as one of the most successful bands of all time, it could be argued the group has dropped more Bible verses than anyone not an explicit evangelist worldwide over the years. Therefore, I don’t think we should treat them as just another rock band that signs up for total depravity. We should treat them as Christ commands us to treat the brethren who have lost their way. I pray there is someone in their inner circle who can go to them. If not, perhaps clergy they hold themselves accountable to who will confront them.

I certainly haven’t wholly agreed with the band’s politics over the years, but this is an example of directly contradicting the Word of God they have used to inspire much of their best and most profitable music for decades. And since long before I became a believer, they shared the Scripture with me when I first fell in love with “The Joshua Tree” when I was 14 years old, now, as a believer, allow me to return the favor to them:

There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers. ~Proverbs 6:16-19

Web Comedy Series Wants to ‘Normalize’ Abortion by Making It Funny

. . .The “abortion comedy” comes from Roni Geva and Margaret Katch. The 7-part narrative using real women’s stories plays out at the same clinic . . .

“When we had our abortions, we looked to the media for stories to relate to and found a whole lot of nothing,” the show’s Facebook page says. “So we decided to change the narrative.” . . .

This comedy series on a macabre topic came about after Geva looked back on how “judgey” she once was toward a woman who had had many abortions. That reasoning only makes sense if you, like progressives, also believe that judging people is one of the seven deadly sins. Rigged: Google Bans Pro-Life Ads Ahead of Vote on Abortion Legalization

On Wednesday, Google announced its crackdown on pro-life ads on both their search engine site and YouTube ahead of Ireland’s vote on the legalization of abortion via the repeal of the country’s Eighth Amendment, which is set for May 25.

In a statement released by Google, the tech company claimed they were blocking all abortion-related ads to allegedly keep the “integrity” of the election. “Following our update around election integrity efforts globally, we have decided to pause all ads related to the Irish referendum on the Eighth Amendment,” reads the statement.

Pro-lifers, noting a recent drop in polling for the “Yes” vote, have accused Google of attempting to rig the election in favor of the repeal of the Eighth Amendment, thus legalizing abortion. “An emergency press conference was called by the Pro Life Campaign, Save the 8th and the Iona Institute, following the announcement,” reported Ireland’s Independent. “They claimed the decision to ban ads on Google had been taken ‘because one side in this referendum is terrified of losing and wants to prevent voters from being informed.'”

Pro-lifer John McGuirk called out Google for their apparently disingenuous statement regarding “election integrity.” “It is about concerns that the No side might win,” he protested . . .

Speaking of big money, power, and influence, George Soros is apparently behind the referendum. LifeNews reports that a leaked 2016 “document from American billionaire George Soros’s Open Society Foundations revealed plans to push Ireland and other pro-life countries to legalize abortion on demand.” Some of these donations were deemed illegal under the 1997 Electoral Act, though the receiving pro-abortion group refused to return the money. Wow: Israel Invents Awesome Gift for Pro-Life Movement

By The Daily Wire. Pro-lifers have been gaining ground in the war against abortion ever since women began viewing ultrasounds of their babies; now a new Israeli invention may signal another tremendous piece of ammunition against the murder of innocents: a device that would let women view an ultrasound of their babies on their smartphones . . .

Prof. Israel Meisner, head of the Obstetric Ultrasound Unit at Rabin Medical Center in Petah Tikva, pointed out, “The new development has one big advantage, which is the calming effect. Women sometimes don’t feel movement, call their doctor and are told to go to an emergency room. Here there’s the option to put a phone on her stomach and see her baby.” Meisner added, “To prevent misunderstandings: this is not an ultrasound to check for defects or pregnancy measurements. This is a device with the sole purpose of calming a woman down, to give her the chance to see her fetus, connect to it when she is stressed, and understand that it is looking okay.” (Read more from “Wow: Israel Invents Awesome Gift for Pro-Life Movement” HERE)

Israeli Device Would Let Pregnant Women Take Ultrasound Scans on Phone

By The Times of Israel. An Israeli startup is in the final stages of developing a revolutionary handheld ultrasound device that will allow pregnant women to check on the health of their baby using only a smartphone.

PulseNmore LTD. says its device can connect to any smartphone, displaying the images on its screen and sending them to the pregnant woman’s personal doctor for examination, Hadashot TV reported Tuesday.

The invention could revolutionize ultrasound tests and the frequency in which expectant mothers check on their unborn child, especially in Israel, where women undergo 6-8 tests on average, according to Prof. Israel Meisner, head of the Obstetric Ultrasound Unit at Rabin Medical Center in Petah Tikva.

“The new development has one big advantage, which is the calming effect,” Meisner told Hadashot. “Women sometimes don’t feel movement, call their doctor and are told to go to an emergency room. Here there’s the option to put a phone on her stomach and see her baby.” (Read more from “Israeli Device Would Let Pregnant Women Take Ultrasound Scans on Phone” HERE)

Doctors Told Mom 20 Times to Abort This Now Miraculously Healthy Baby

By The Daily Wire. . .While every baby, including and especially ones diagnosed with disabilities in the womb, deserves life from conception until natural death, it is important to highlight cases where doctors predicted a child would have crippling disabilities and advised their mother to abort them based on that diagnosis, only to have the child live on to prove them wrong.

According to LifeNews, Samantha Dukes of Scotland nearly aborted her son, Dexson, when doctors told her he would die immediately after birth from spina bifida, conjoined kidneys and a brain disorder.

For an estimated total of 20 times, the doctors pressured Dukes into aborting her son as a way to speed up the process. She refused and her son is now four years old and functioning.

“But even when I was 33 weeks pregnant, I was still being asked, ‘Are you sure you want to continue? it’s not too late,’” she remembered. “I was asked if I wanted one [an abortion] every time I had an appointment. I was told because he had no cerebellum in his brain he wouldn’t even be able to hold his head up, he’d be a vegetable.” (Read more from “Doctors Told Mom 20 Times to Abort This Now Miraculously Healthy Baby” HERE)

Doctors Told Mom 20 Times to Abort Baby with No Brain Who Wouldn’t Survive Birth, Now He’s Healthy

By Life Site News. . .On March 24, 2014, she gave birth to Dexson via cesarean section, according to the report. He underwent several surgeries during the first few weeks of life, but his mother said he was a fighter.

Four years later, Dexson can walk short distances on his own, and he attends preschool with other children in the community, his mother said.

His spina bifida does cause pain in his back and legs, and eventually, he will need another surgery on his spinal cord; but Dukes said he does not complain.

“You never hear him complain,” she said. “He’s such a happy little boy and I’m awfully proud to be his mum.

“He’s a wee miracle,” Dukes continued. “To look at him, you’d think there was nothing wrong with him. He’s an inspirational little boy.” (Read more from “Doctors Told Mom 20 Times to Abort Baby with No Brain Who Wouldn’t Survive Birth, Now He’s Healthy” HERE)

State Department: Killing Unborn Children Not a ‘Human Right’

By The Daily Wire. The U.S. State Department has removed the killing of unborn children — what leftists refer to as “abortion” — from its annual report on global human rights.

According to LifeSiteNews, “Ambassador Michael Kozak told reporters that abortion is not a human right and therefore ‘reproductive rights’ was no longer included in the report.”

The asinine idea that so-called “reproductive rights” should be listed as a human right alongside denunciations of genocide came from the topsy-turvy logic of the Obama administration. Kozak claims that the term “reproductive rights” was never intended to include abortion, but only acquired that meaning over the years. As an issue of U.S. policy, Kozak says abortion is too unsettled a question across the world to be included.

However, certain practices of abortion will still be included in the report on global human rights such as forced abortions and involuntary sterilization. (Read more from “State Department: Killing Unborn Children Not a ‘Human Right'” HERE)

Killing Unborn Children Not a Human Right, Says State Department

By Lifesite News. In presenting the annual U.S. report on global human rights, Ambassador Michael Kozak told reporters that abortion is not a human right and therefore “reproductive rights” was no longer included in the report.

“Reproductive rights” was a rather recent addition to the report, included by the Obama administration that, Kozak claims, never intended the term to include abortion. He said it only acquired that meaning in recent years through its use by partisans on both sides of the abortion debate. If this were true, the question arises as to why the term abortion is used under the “reproductive rights” section in the 2013 report on Ireland. Pro-lifers would point out that at least in general usage, the term has always included abortion. Kozak did correctly describe abortion as a largely unsettled question of national policy around the world.

Kozak said that forced abortions and involuntary sterilization would be considered violations of human rights. He said, “it is internationally recognized that somebody should force you to have an abortion or coerce you to be sterilized.”

Kozak said, “We’ve really gotten at it by flipping back to the original U.S. statutory language. It’s in places like China where in order to enforce their – now – two-child policy that there are reports of coerced abortion and involuntary sterilization [or] in North Korea, where the government also coerces [or] forces abortion – although sometimes that’s for political punishment rather than family planning.” (Read more from “Killing Unborn Children Not a Human Right, Says State Department” HERE)

Planned Parenthood Sues State Because They Don’t Want to Be Inspected

On March 25, Indiana Republican Gov. Eric Holcomb signed Senate Enrolled Act No. 340, which amended a previous law that stated, “The state department may inspect an abortion clinic at least one (1) time per calendar year” and replaced the word “may” with the word “shall.”

In addition, the law requires medical providers who treat women for complications arising from abortions to report detailed patient information to the state.

Less than a month later, Planned Parenthood and the ACLU have filed suit against the state, claiming the law “imposes unique and burdensome obligations” that are unconstitutional. The plaintiffs argue that the law is unconstitutional because it targets abortions and abortion providers and not other procedures or clinics.

Jane Henegar, executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Indiana, snapped, “Once again Indiana politicians are barging into the exam room with irrational demands and intrusive requirements.” The lawsuit claims many of the abortion complications listed by the law “are both extremely rare for abortions and are more likely to occur after other medical procedures.” . . .

Christie Gillespie, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky, echoed that the new law “is not about patient safety” while asserting abortion care “is already incredibly safe.” (Read more from “Planned Parenthood Sues State Because They Don’t Want to Be Inspected” HERE)

Council Bans Pro-Life Protests Outside an Abortion Clinic

The council in the borough of Ealing in West London has ruled that pro-life protesters must stay outside a “safe zone” around an abortion clinic. The motion passed the council unanimously . . .

The United Kingdom-based Catholic pro-life group, The Good Counsel Network, has protested outside a Marie Stopes abortion clinic in Ealing for years. Now the organization that runs that clinic has successfully petitioned the local government to keep them from doing so . . .

Clare McCullough, the director of The Good Counsel Network, told The Guardian, “The women we speak to are being offered a leaflet, offered help, and hundreds of women are accepting that vote. These are women who have no alternative but abortion – illegal immigrants, victims of domestic violence. We’re telling them there are alternatives if they want them.”

The ban will apply to all pro-life groups, not just The Good Counsel Network. For now, the ban appears to be limited to one Marie Stopes clinic in Ealing . . .

The Good Counsel Network insisted in a letter it sent to U.K. Home Secretary Amber Rudd that it does not intimidate women entering the clinic, show graphic images of abortion, or give inaccurate medical information, and that its actions are limited to handing out fliers and quietly praying from a distance. Conservative Writer FIRED for Endorsing Death Penalty for Abortion

The Atlantic has fired conservative writer Kevin Williamson after a past episode of his podcast resurfaced in which he called for women who have abortions to face the death penalty.

The Atlantic editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg made the announcement to staff in a memo Thursday, according to multiple media reports.

Williamson’s hiring last month had already drawn scrutiny over past tweets in which he stated that “the law should treat abortion like any other homicide” and that for punishment, “I have hanging more in mind.” Those tweets have since been deleted.

“The language he used in this podcast — and in my conversations with him in recent days — made it clear that the original tweet did, in fact, represent his carefully considered views,” Goldberg wrote in the memo.

“The tweet was not merely an impulsive, decontextualized, heat-of-the-moment post, as Kevin had explained it. Furthermore, the language used in the podcast was callous and violent. This runs contrary to The Atlantic’s tradition of respectful, well-reasoned debate, and to the values of our workplace.” (Read more from “Conservative Writer FIRED for Endorsing Death Penalty for Abortion” HERE)
