Bernie Loves to Cite Sweden, but Their Former PM Just Smacked Him Down

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) loves to cite Sweden as an example of the socialism he advocates for, but he likely didn’t appreciate the slap down he received from former Swedish prime minister over his love of communist Russia.

Carl Bildt tweeted a scathing sarcastic remark with a video of the Socialist Democrat.

“Bernie Sanders was lucky to be able to get to the Soviet Union in 1988 and praise all its stunning socialist achievements before the entire system and empire collapsed under the weight of its own spectacular failures,” Bildt tweeted. . .

“I think it’s also fair to point out that when we were in Moscow for example,” he said in the video, “I think most of the people here also were extremely impressed by their public transportation system, the stations themselves were absolutely beautiful, including many works of art, chandeliers that were very very beautiful. It was a very very effective system.

“Also I was impressed by the youth programs that they have, their palaces of culture for the young people,” he continued. “A whole variety of programs for the young people, and cultural programs which go far beyond what we do in this country.

Bernie Sanders Won’t ‘Condemn the Genocidal Dictator’ in Venezuela ‘Because He Believes in His Ideology’

Friday on the radio, LevinTV host Mark Levin explained why socialism and collectivism are so effective in winning over American hearts and minds, despite their pernicious effects on society.

Levin read from his book “Rediscovering Americanism” and discussed the political philosophy of Russian-British political theorist and philosopher Isaiah Berlin, who said that not enough concern is given to the political academics and intellectuals, whose ideas determine the future of politics and of humanity itself.

“In fact, ladies and gentlemen … there is no debate,” Levin said. “We never engage, except at a very superficial level. We never explain humanity, nature, individualism, freedom. ‘Who’s gonna pay for that? Who’s gonna pay for that?’ It’s a good question, but we’re not going to win hearts and souls and minds.”

Levin explained that Berlin found this both surprising and dangerous, since so many societies today have been significantly changed or violently upset by fanatical social and political ideas, which Berlin called “dangerous.”

“‘When ideas are neglected by those who ought to attend to them’ — that is, the citizen,” Levin read, “‘That is to say, those who have been trained to think critically about ideas, they sometimes acquire an unchecked momentum, and are irresistible, an irresistible power over multitudes of men and women that may grow too violent to be affected by rational criticism.” And so yesterday when I played Bernie Sanders saying, ‘Well, what we need is a vote, a fair election in Venezuela,’ and I was pointing out they’re beyond that. He will not condemn the genocidal dictator, because he believes in his ideology. Berlin would say that’s preposterous, Bernie Sanders. You’re taking about a vote, when the man is destroying his country.”

Listen:

“It’s not a question of governing yourself, it is the extent to which you can compel other people to do what you want them to do, so you can be all you can be. You see what I’m saying? ‘I want universal healthcare. I want free college. I want this, I want that.’ Well, you’re enslaving other people. You’re denying them their liberty. Maybe they don’t want it,” Levin said. (For more from the author of “Bernie Sanders Won’t ‘Condemn the Genocidal Dictator’ in Venezuela ‘Because He Believes in His Ideology'” please click HERE)

Bernie Sanders Admits His Real Motives for Running…Again

By Townhall. Democrats seem to think that if they continue running for president that maybe, just maybe, one day their hope will become a reality. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and his campaign team are running a social media campaign focused on why the senator is running for president.

Clearly, this is a jab at President Donald Trump. Let’s face it. Trump has a different leadership style than most. He says what everyone is thinking but no one has the courage to say. While his comments can come off as brash, he’s saying what needs to be said. And Democrats clearly don’t like that. . .

Almost everyone can get behind lowering the student loan debt. But very few would agree that college and universities should be tuition free. Here’s why:

When you have to pay for your education, you value it. You take it seriously. You study. You get good grades. You earn your degree. When it’s paid for, you have less invested, both monetarily and emotionally. Why would you care if you flunked a semester or flunked out of school? You didn’t pay for it. No sweat off your back. There’s nothing tangible to look at.

Vintage Bernie Footage Shows Now-Presidential Candidate Praising Breadlines, Communist Nations

By Fox News. Presidential hopeful Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., has never shied away from his embrace of a hard-left agenda, but the democratic socialist is facing renewed scrutiny over a catalog of comments he made in the 1980s praising the Soviet Union, offering advice to Nicaragua’s socialist government — and even saying breadlines in communist countries are a “good thing.”

Videos of those comments have recirculated online at a furious pace ever since Sanders jumped in the 2020 race Tuesday, this time as a putative front-runner rather than the underdog he played in 2016 against an establishment favorite. With his increased stature, and role in pulling the entire field to the left, has come a tougher look at his long record talking up socialist governments.

“It’s funny sometimes American journalists talk about how bad a country is because people are lining up for food. That’s a good thing,” he said in one vintage video unearthed by conservative activists. “In other countries, people don’t line up for food, rich people get the food and poor people starve to death.”

Bernie Sanders’ Entire Worldview Is Grotesquely Immoral and Evil

Sen. Bernie Sanders (Loonbag – VT) is best labeled as not merely a “democratic socialist,” as is voguish for the mini-Robespierres du jour. He is not even merely best described as a run-of-the-mill “socialist” — you know, your typical pothead college sophomore who hasn’t even taken an introductory macroeconomics course but just knows that true justice requires state seizure of the means of production. . .

Let us state this as explicitly as possible. In the 1980s, in the midst of a Reagan-Gorbachev détente that ultimately led to the dissolution of America’s existentially threatening superpower foe, the Marxist-Leninist Soviet Union, Bernie Sanders stood not with America — but with the Soviets. . .

Toward the end of the hellish Cold War, facing a hegemonic Soviet arch-nemesis whose only reason for not annihilating us via nuclear holocaust was the game theory-backed theory of “mutually assured destruction,” Bernie Sanders honeymooned with his second wife in the Soviet Union. Toward the end of the hellish Cold War, facing a hegemonic Soviet arch-nemesis whose only reason for not annihilating us via nuclear holocaust was the game theory-backed theory of “mutually assured destruction,” Bernie Sanders flew a hammer-and-sickle Soviet flag in his Vermont mayoral office. At the end of the hellish Cold War, facing a hegemonic Soviet arch-nemesis whose only reason for not annihilating us via nuclear holocaust was the game theory-backed theory of “mutually assured destruction,” Bernie Sanders willfully addressed a known front group for a political party whose members swear an oath of allegiance to that very hegemonic arch-nemesis.

As The Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh wrote yesterday, this can only be described as “morally deranged” behavior.

[Sanders] is not some stupid college student who champions communism because he has no idea what happened in the world prior to 2005. He lived through much of the 1900s and very well knows that it was a century bathed in the blood shed by communist governments. He knows that communism very recently killed 100 million people, and that it continues to add to the body count even today. Yet he advocates for communist policies and wishes to see the great evil of the 20th century reborn in the 21st. What else can we call this but morally deranged?

SHOCKER: Bernie Sanders Calls Ilhan Omar to Offer His Support

Sen. Bernie Sanders, who was born Jewish but who has attacked Israel for years, called anti-Semitic Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) on Tuesday to offer his support, reportedly saying, “We will stand by our Muslim brothers and sisters.”

As reported by Jewish Insider, and confirmed by The Daily Beast, Sanders spoke with Omar. The Daily Beast reported:

Omar’s office confirmed that the congresswoman spoke with Sanders—who is Jewish—but the conversation was off-record and so they could not go into further details about the contents of the discussion. A source familiar with the conversation confirmed to The Daily Beast that Sanders expressed support for Omar.

The Daily Beast noted that Jewish Insider had stated Sanders had discussed Omar’s anti-Semitic tweets on a conference call hosted by James Zogby. The Daily Beast added, “Zogby told The Daily Beast the call was off-record when contacted about the veracity of the reporting, but the source familiar with the lawmakers’ conversation confirmed the Jewish Insider story.” . . .

In 2017, Sanders referred to the “occupation” that Israel had foisted on the “Palestinian territories,” saying, “its daily restrictions on the political and civil liberties of the Palestinian people runs contrary to fundamental American values,” and adding, “Like our own country, the founding of Israel involved the displacement of hundreds of thousands of people already living there, the Palestinian people. Over 700,000 people were made refugees.” (Read more from “SHOCKER: Bernie Sanders Calls Ilhan Omar to Offer His Support” HERE)

Watch: Bernie Sanders Fakes Phone Call to Ignore Question About Fairfax #MeToo Accuser

The silence from Democrats on whether they believe Virginia Democrat Lt. Governor Justin Fairfax’s sexual assault accuser has been unreal, but Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., just took it to another level.

Sanders took a fake phone call to ignore a question from Daily Caller reporter Henry Rodgers about whether he believes Fairfax’s accuser.

Watch:

How do we know the phone call is fake? Pause the video around 13 seconds, and you can see his phone is open to the page of a contact, but is not taking a call. Nice.

Fairfax has forcefully denied the allegations from a woman named Vanessa Tyson, who claims Fairfax assaulted her at the 2004 DNC convention.

Last September, Sanders was quick to call for a “full investigation” into the accusations from Christine Blasey Ford against Justice Brett Kavanaugh. The rules must be different when Democrats are accused. (For more from the author of “Watch: Bernie Sanders Fakes Phone Call to Ignore Question About Fairfax #MeToo Accuser” please click HERE)

This Is How Much Climate Change Activist Sanders Spent on Air Travel in a Single Month

By Townhall. As one of the central issues of his 2016 presidential campaign, Sen. Bernie Sanders has referred to climate change as the “single greatest threat facing our planet.” It’s surprising, then, that the man so ostensibly concerned about burning fossil fuels spent nearly $300,000 on private air travel in just one month.

According to multiple reports, Sanders traveled to nine battleground states in October ahead of the midterm elections. (Read more from “This Is How Much Climate Change Activist Sanders Spent on Air Travel in a Single Month” HERE)

Bernie Sanders spent nearly $300G on private air travel in October: reports

By Fox News. Bernie Sanders is so concerned about climate change that he spent nearly $300,000 on private air travel in October so he could speak to audiences in nine battleground states prior to November’s midterm elections.

The independent U.S. senator from Vermont also used the opportunity to test the waters for a potential 2020 presidential run, according to reports.

Sanders’ 2018 campaign committee issued an Oct. 10 payment of $297,685 to New York-based Apollo Jets, a charter jet company used by retired sports stars Derek Jeter and Shaquille O’Neal, according to federal campaign reports obtained by VTDigger.org, a watchdog news site in Vermont.

“This expense was for transportation for the senator’s nine-day, nine-state tour to support Democratic candidates up and down the ballot ahead of Election Day,” said Arianna Jones, senior communications adviser for Friends of Bernie Sanders.

“This cost covered the entirety of the tour from Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, South Carolina, Colorado, Nevada, Arizona, California, and back to Vermont,” Jones continued. “The senator participated in 25 events.” (Read more from “This Is How Much Climate Change Activist Sanders Spent on Air Travel in a Single Month” HERE)

Bernie Sanders’s Outrageous Reason for Why Florida Democrats Lost This Year

If there is one thing we know about the far left, besides being totally wrong on policy, it’s that their memories have a shelf life of two seconds. Seriously, after what Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) said about the recent Florida elections, just discount anything this progressive wing has to say because we all know they have a one or two-track mind to explain why their campaigns end in disaster.

The autopsies are usually ‘candidate x wasn’t left wing enough.’ If it’s not that, it’s because of white people, or something. The latter is what Sanders thought was the reason why Andrew Gillum and incumbent Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson fell short Tuesday night. Gillum lost and has conceded. Nelson and Gov. Rick Scott, the Republican, are heading for a recount, which will end at noon on November 10. Scott leads Nelson by a little over 34,500 votes. Scott is going to win. And for Sanders, it’s because white people were scared of black people (via Daily Beast):

Democratic officials woke Wednesday morning searching for answers as to why the party was unable to win several marquee Senate and gubernatorial races the night before. But for Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) the explanation was simple. The candidates who underperformed weren’t progressive enough; those who didn’t shy away from progressivism were undone, in part, by “racist” attacks.

“I think you know there are a lot of white folks out there who are not necessarily racist who felt uncomfortable for the first time in their lives about whether or not they wanted to vote for an African-American,” Sanders told The Daily Beast, referencing the close contests involving Andrew Gillum in Florida and Stacey Abrams in Georgia. “I think next time around by the way it will be a lot easier for them to do that.”

Pro-Abortion Bernie Sanders: There Is Something Morally Wrong With the Country

Socialist Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders trashed America on Wednesday while downplaying the debate between the ideas behind socialism and capitalism.

Appearing on “CBS This Morning,” Sanders told co-host John Dickerson that he was not concerned that millennials are unable to name someone whom they think is the leader of the Democratic party. . .

Sanders continued by bashing America, claiming that there is something morally wrong with the country.

“But I will also say this, John, I think that there is growing resentment, not only among young people who in many cases are going to have a lower standard of living than their parents, I think that there is an understanding or something fundamentally immoral and wrong about a nation in which we have three people who own more wealth than the bottom half of the American people,” Sanders continued. “That does not make sense.”

At the very end of the segment, co-host Bianna Golodryga quickly interjected that many Americans want to know how Sanders plans to pay for all of his ideas but then ended the segment, saying, “We’ve run out of time, Senator.” (Read more from “Pro-Abortion Bernie Sanders: There Is Something Morally Wrong With the Country” HERE)

Bernie Sanders Just Got Caught in a Massive Flip-Flop

Independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders appears to have flip-flopped on whether the United States of America is a compassionate country.

Sanders on Friday slammed President Donald Trump’s administration for separating migrant children from their parents at the border, which Sanders said is contrary to America’s identity as “a nation of compassion and generosity.”

“This is America, a nation of compassion and generosity,” the socialist senator wrote on Twitter. “We will not allow Trump, Sessions or anyone else to continue a policy of ripping babies from the arms of their mothers. Together, we will defeat this inhumane and un-American action.”

But when former Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price described America as a “compassionate society” during his confirmation hearings in January 2017, Sanders insisted that Price was wrong.

“No, we are not a compassionate society in terms of poor and working people,” Sanders snapped. (Read more from “Bernie Sanders Just Got Caught in a Massive Flip-Flop” HERE)
