Mike Pence Endorses GOP Rival of Trump-Backed Candidate for Governor

Former Vice President Mike Pence on Monday endorsed Karrin Taylor Robson, who is running against Trump-backed, former TV news anchor Kari Lake in the GOP primary for Arizona governor.

The endorsement further escalated the public rift between Mr. Pence and his former boss, teeing up another high-profile intraparty showdown ahead of the Aug. 2 primary.

Ms. Robson, a real estate developer and former member of the Arizona Board of Regents, is “the best choice for Arizona’s future” who will “keep Arizona’s border secure and streets safe, empower parents and create great schools, and promote conservative values,” Mr. Pence said.

“I am honored to announce the endorsement of former Vice President @Mike_Pence,” Ms. Robson tweeted. “He has been a warrior for the sanctity of Life; limited government; law & order; opportunity for all; & the knowledge that our freedoms are granted by God. I’m proud to have him on my team.” (Read more from “Mike Pence Endorses GOP Rival of Trump-Backed Candidate for Governor” HERE)

Donald Trump Is Definitely Running in 2024

Former President Donald Trump’s third bid for the White House appears to be a matter of when, not if, according to multiple recent reports.

Politico recently reported that Trump has been discussing the timing of his announcement with “some of his wealthiest and highest-profile supporters” at recent dinners. The Washington Post recently reported that some of Trump’s closest advisers have been pushing him to abide by historic norms of announcing a presidential bid after the midterm election cycle to avoid blame if Republicans underperform, while others have been pushing for an earlier bid to scare off rivals amid signs of weakening support among Republican voters.

Trump is reportedly pushing for an earlier reveal, making him a bigger factor in the midterm elections.

He recently told New York magazine, “Well, in my own mind, I’ve already made that decision, so nothing factors in anymore. In my own mind, I’ve already made that decision.” (Read more from “Donald Trump Is Definitely Running in 2024” HERE)

War of Words: Musk Calls for Trump’s Political Exit; Trump Says He Could Have Made Musk ‘Drop to His Knees’

Trump Says He Could Have Made Musk ‘Drop to His Knees’

By Daily Beast. The war of words between former President Donald Trump and Elon Musk is intensifying—and getting weirder.

On Tuesday evening, Trump responded to a series of tweets the Tesla CEO had sent Monday encouraging Trump to end his political career. . .

No surprise that the former president didn’t take well to the slight. For his part, he took to his right-wing social media network Truth Social and assailed Musk, recalling one of the many times the Tesla CEO visited the White House during his administration.

“When Elon Musk came to the White House asking me for help on all of his many subsidized projects, whether it’s electric cars that don’t drive long enough, driverless cars that crash, or rocketships to nowhere, without which subsidies he’d be worthless,” Trump wrote, “and telling me how he was a big Trump fan and Republican, I could have said, ‘drop to your knees and beg,’ and he would have done it.”

For good measure, the ex-president appeared to revel in Tuesday’s other Musk news: Twitter is suing the moon-loving billionaire, alleging that he broke a contract to purchase the company.

Musk Calls for Trump’s Political Exit, Says DeSantis Would ‘Easily Win’ Against Biden in 2024

By Washington Times. Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk called for former President Donald Trump to quit politics, escalating a war of words between the influential billionaires with their eyes on dominating the social media marketplace.

“I don’t hate the man, but it’s time for Trump to hang up his hat & sail into the sunset,” Mr. Musk said on Twitter. “Dems should also call off the attack — don’t make it so that Trump’s only way to survive is to regain the presidency.”

Mr. Musk’s commentary was posted in response to a video of Mr. Trump’s remarks at a political rally in Alaska hammering Mr. Musk after he publicly sought to walk away from taking over Twitter.

Mr. Trump pitched the audience on his own social platform Truth Social and he said he previously told people Mr. Musk would not go through with the Twitter acquisition.

“You know he said the other day, ‘Oh, I’ve never voted for a Republican.’ I said, ‘I didn’t know that, he told me he voted for me,’” Mr. Trump said at the rally on Saturday. “So he’s another bull—— artist but he’s not going to be buying it.” (Read more from “Musk Calls for Trump’s Political Exit, Says DeSantis Would ‘Easily Win’ Against Biden in 2024” HERE)

Trump in Alaska: Lisa Murkowski ‘Worse than a Democrat’

By Breitbart. Former President Donald Trump went hard against Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski at a rally in her home state of Alaska on Saturday, denouncing her as being “worse than a Democrat.”

Campaigning for several candidates in the state, including Murkowski’s challenger Kelly Tshibaka, the former president said Murkowski was a “lousy senator” who hails from the Washington swamp, citing her opposition to Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court and her eventual confirmation of Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson.

“She’s a total creature of the Washington swamp but much worse than that and a tool of a corrupt establishment, the likes of which we’ve never seen. The fake news media loves her,” Trump said.

The former president also scolded Murkowski for voting for gun control legislation after the shootings in Buffalo, New York, and Uvalde, Texas.

“This is your precious chance to dump the horrific RINO Senator Lisa Murkowski, who’s worse than a Democrat. She’s worse than a Democrat,” Trump said. (Read more from “Trump in Alaska: Lisa Murkowski ‘Worse Than a Democrat’” HERE)

Trump Avoids Word ‘Vaccine’ at Alaska Rally After Boos Over It in Alabama

By Newsweek. Former President Donald Trump appeared to avoid saying the word “vaccine” during his rally in Alaska on Saturday after he was booed for encouraging his supporters to get vaccinated in past rallies.

He has often found himself at odds over the vaccine with segments of his voters. The former president has vocally supported the vaccine, touting it as one of his accomplishments during his presidential tenure. However, many of his own voters have expressed skepticism about the vaccine, which is shown to prevent severe illness from COVID-19.

Trump acknowledged the tension Saturday, when he skirted around using the word while simultaneously boasting about his efforts to get out a vaccine within the first year of the pandemic. His remarks illustrate the extent of how the vaccine, which received wide support from both major parties, have become politicized.

“We did so much in terms of therapeutics, and a word that I’m not allowed to mention—but I’m still proud of that word,” he said. “We did that in nine months, and it was supposed to take five years to 12 years and nobody else could’ve done it. But I’m not mentioning it in front of my own people.” (Read more from “Trump Avoids Word ‘Vaccine’ at Alaska Rally After Boos Over It in Alabama” HERE)

Cheney: ‘I Can Make Sure Trump Never Gets Anywhere Close to the Oval Office Again’ (VIDEO)

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) is cautioning the GOP if President Trump were to run for the White House again in 2024.

During an interview on ABC’s “This Week” with George Stephanopoulos, Cheney said that the Republican Party can’t survive if Trump wins the GOP nomination.

“I think that he can’t be the party nominee. And I don’t think the party would survive that… I believe in the party, and I believe in what the party can be and what the party can stand for. And I’m not ready to give that up,” Cheney said.

She went on to falsely claim that “millions of Republicans have been betrayed by Donald Trump,” saying that he has torn the country and the Republican Party apart.

Poll: Trump’s Lead on Biden Increases in Hypothetical Matchup

Former President Trump’s lead on President Joe Biden increased over the last month, an Emerson College Polling survey released Friday found.

Biden’s approval rating is underwater, down 13 percent as 40 percent approve and 53 percent disapprove of his job performance. However, that reflects a two-point uptick in approval since last month.

Despite that, the survey found former President Trump increasing his lead in a hypothetical match-up against Biden. According to the survey, 44 percent choose Trump in a hypothetical 2024 presidential matchup, compared to 39 percent who said the same for Biden. Another 12 percent indicated they would vote for someone else, and five percent remain unsure.

Trump’s five-point lead reflects an increase from May’s results:
