Former FBI Deputy Director Acknowledges Errors in Trump FISA Scandal

Andrew McCabe, the former FBI Deputy Director, admitted on Thursday that the bureau made “many mistakes” in its handling of Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) applications related to Carter Page, an aide to former President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign.

During a CNN interview, McCabe, who now serves as a CNN law enforcement analyst, defended FISA’s Section 702 while responding to Trump’s criticism of the program. Trump had called for the termination of FISA, alleging that it was used to spy on his campaign.

McCabe acknowledged the errors in the FISA application targeting Carter Page, stating that there were “many mistakes” in the process. He emphasized the distinction between Section 702 and the specific FISA application related to Page, which faced criticism for its reliance on an unverified dossier.

In 2018, McCabe was fired from the FBI by the Trump Department of Justice, just hours before his retirement, over allegations of “lack of candor” regarding disclosures to the media. McCabe filed a lawsuit contesting his firing, claiming it was politically motivated, and ultimately reached a settlement in 2021 that restored his pension and benefits.

The debate over FISA’s reauthorization has intensified in Congress, with some lawmakers pushing for reforms to protect the privacy of U.S. citizens. FBI Director Christopher Wray has defended Section 702 authorities as “critical” for national security, while House Speaker Mike Johnson argued that the proposed reforms would address past abuses.

Despite opposition from a bipartisan group of lawmakers, the House blocked consideration of a reauthorization bill for Section 702 just days before its expiration.

Was It an “Accident?” Intel Sources Claim Baltimore Bridge Collapse Was “Absolutely Brilliant Strategic Attack”; FBI Says No Foul Play

By The Gateway Pundit. Early this morning, the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, MD, collapsed after a cargo ship collided with a support column, causing the bridge to collapse. The Francis Scott Key Bridge is a significant commuter route carrying the Baltimore Beltway I-695 over the Patapsco River at the southern end of the Baltimore Harbor.

There are no official reports on casualties yet; however, there are unconfirmed cars in the water and reports of several construction workers unaccounted for. As of just before 5 a.m. EDT, rescue crews have not pulled anyone out of the water. A road crew was fixing potholes on the bridge at the time. Two people were rescued from the water. One was not injured; the other was seriously hurt and was hospitalized. Search efforts are underway for six others who are missing.

In the video below, the ship’s lights can be seen going off and then on again as it appears to pass by the support column. Suddenly and inexplicably, the lights on the cargo ship are turned back on as the ship appears to turn toward the support column and hits it head-on.

The entire span of the bridge immediately collapses IN FRONT of the ship. There have been no reported injuries to any crew members on the cargo ship.

There are many questions surrounding the crash, especially regarding the alleged power outages the cargo ship was experiencing only moments before the crash. The mainstream media continues to report that the curious collision was “an accident.”

No Indication of Terrorism in Baltimore Bridge Collapse, Says FBI

By Breitbart. There is no “credible indication” of terrorism involved in the demise of the Francis Scott Key Bridge after it snapped at around 01:30 local time Tuesday following a container ship crashing into it.

The landmark structure in the U.S. city of Baltimore collapsed into the Patapsco River in the aftermath; however, Maryland Gov. Wes Moore has made clear that “the preliminary investigation points to an accident. We haven’t seen any credible evidence of a terrorist attack.”

Senator: FBI Director ‘Confirmed to Me’ a Trafficking Network Exists That Smuggles ISIS-Linked People Into U.S.

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) said over the weekend that FBI Director Christopher Wray confirmed to him that a trafficking network exists that smuggles illegal aliens into the U.S. who have ties to ISIS.

Rubio made the remarks during a Sunday interview on ABC News’ “This Week” while discussing ISIS-K’s devastating terrorist attack in Moscow late last week, which killed well over a hundred people.

“ISIS-K, ISIS-Khorasan, is largely the Afghan-wing of ISIS,” Rubio said. “It’s reconstituted itself as we warned would happen when we had this disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan. One of the reasons why we didn’t want to withdraw precipitously is because you gave them operating space to reorganize themselves and plan externally. And since that time, they’ve attacked inside of Afghanistan.”

Rubio noted that ISIS-K was responsible for the deadly suicide blast that left 13 American service members dead at Kabul International Airport back in 2021 during President Joe Biden’s disastrous withdraw from the country. FBI Nabs Alleged MS-13 Senior Leader on Most Wanted List in Border City

A man accused of being a senior leader of the MS-13 gang, one of the largest criminal organizations, was captured by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), according to a CNN report.

Freddy Ivan Jandres-Parada was captured after four years at large, according to CNN. Jandres-Parada was reportedly accused of being a member of the gang’s board of directors, called the Ranfla Nacional, in Dec. 2020 by the Eastern District of New York’s federal prosecutors.

The FBI was “offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information” that would lead to his arrest, according to the bureau’s most wanted list.

“Freddy Ivan Jandres-Parada is wanted for his alleged involvement in the direction of MS-13 activity in the United States, Mexico, and El Salvador,” the FBI stated.

“Jandres-Parada has been charged with several terrorism offenses for his alleged role in ordering numerous acts of violence against civilians, law enforcement, and rival gang members, as well as drug distribution and extortion schemes worldwide,” the bureau added.

FBI Must Hand Over Nashville Christian School Shooter’s Manifesto

Ajudge recently ordered the Federal Bureau of Investigation to hand over the manifesto of the Covenant School shooter amid an ongoing lawsuit filed by local news outlet the Tennessee Star.

United States District Judge Aleta Trauger ordered the FBI to turn over the writings of the trans-identifying 28-year-old female who shot and killed three children and three adults at the Christian school in Nashville, Tennessee, on March 27, 2023. The suspect was shot dead at the scene by police.

Authorities have repeatedly refused to release the shooter’s manifesto to the public, prompting state-level lawsuits that are currently tied up in court.

Metropolitan Nashville Police seized the writings, which included a hand-drawn map of the school, from the shooter’s vehicle. According to the FBI, releasing the documents to the public “could reasonably be expected to interfere with enforcement proceedings.”

Following the tragedy, the Tennessee Star filed a public records request for the writings, which the FBI denied. Report: FBI Plans to Arrest Blaze Media Reporter Without Telling Him What Charges He’s Facing (UPDATE: he was arrested)

The FBI is expected to arrest a Blaze Media reporter on Friday for what appears to be his coverage of demonstrations at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, without informing him of what charges he’s facing.

On Tuesday, investigative reporter Steve Baker revealed that following months of delay, federal authorities informed his legal team there is a signed warrant for his arrest and that he is to self-surrender for “alleged J6 crimes” in Dallas, Texas, on Friday morning. Baker has been at the forefront of reporting on the more questionable aspects of the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.

According to Baker, he is to turn himself over to the FBI at 7 a.m. on Friday, at which point federal officials will “transport [him] to the Dallas courthouse, where [he] can meet [his] attorney at 9:30 am.” An unnamed federal prosecutor reportedly told Baker’s attorneys that he is to wear “shorts and sandals” during his surrender, representing an effort by the FBI and Department of Justice (DOJ) to give Baker “a dose of the personal humiliation treatment.”

A hearing before a federal magistrate is purportedly set to take place at 10 a.m. Baker was initially informed of the DOJ’s intention to charge him over his J6 reporting in December but was told by the FBI his self-surrender date would be “postponed until after Christmas,” according to Blaze News.

While the feds reportedly claimed they have no intention of detaining Baker and the charges against him are “non-violent misdemeanors,” the Blaze Media reporter nor his attorneys have been informed what specific counts he’s facing, signaling a potential violation of the Sixth Amendment, which guarantees individuals accused of a crime a right to “be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation.” Blaze News reported that “the powers that be won’t tell [Baker’s] attorney about the charges because they believe Baker will post them on social media.”

Democrats have been slavering over the indictment of Alexander Smirnov, the trusted FBI paid informant of 13 years standing who they have branded a Russian spy before he even goes to trial.

Hunter Biden used Smirnov as a crutch in his opening statement to the impeachment committee Wednesday, claiming “Smirnov… has made you dupes in carrying out a Russian disinformation campaign waged against my father.”

There’s barely a Democrat alive who doesn’t invoke Russia when the heat comes on. . .

Jamie Raskin rushed out of Hunter’ deposition hearing room after only an hour to cry “Smirnov,” who is so irrelevant he wasn’t even a witness to the impeachment inquiry since nobody knew who he was. ‘Extremely Alarming’ Election Threats Trigger Warning From FBI

An FBI official warned that state election systems are being targeted as the 2024 election approaches, describing them as “extremely alarming.”

“The threat environment, unfortunately, is very high,” said Tim Langan, executive assistant director for the Criminal, Cyber, Response, and Services Branch of the FBI during a Washington conference with secretaries of state, according to Stateline. “It is extremely alarming.”
Officials said that voter databases could be hacked via phishing or ransomware attacks. They also warned about the rising use of artificial intelligence (AI) that could be used to potentially trick voters, according to the report.

Eric Goldstein, the executive assistant director for cybersecurity at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), told the news outlet that there have been significant advancements that could allow China, North Korea, and Russia to target election systems. . .

Neither official provided any concrete examples in the report. But during the event, Kentucky Republican Secretary of State Michael Adams said last month that a bomb threat was called into the state capitol in Frankfort, saying that explosives would “make sure you all end up dead.” No bombs were found, and eight other state capitols received threats. FBI Warns of Potential Alliance Between MS-13 and Venezuelan Gang Amid Biden’s Border Crisis (VIDEO)

In a concerning development, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has expressed fears about a potential collaboration between El Salvador’s notorious MS-13 gang and Venezuela’s Tren de Aragua, posing a serious threat to the safety of New Yorkers. This alliance is believed to be fueled by the southern border and exploited by criminal elements taking advantage of President Joe Biden’s border policies.

Reports suggest that members of Tren de Aragua have capitalized on the lax border controls, resulting in a significant increase in their presence in New York City, particularly in the Bronx. The Venezuelan gang’s growth has been linked to the policies facilitating the release of thousands of illegal aliens into American cities every day.

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro’s lenient approach towards top leaders of Tren de Aragua, allowing them VIP-style treatment and even escape from prison, has added to law enforcement’s concerns. Hector Guerrero, the gang’s leader, is one such escapee believed to have entered the U.S. illegally.

The FBI is now apprehensive about the possibility of Tren de Aragua forming an alliance with the notorious MS-13 gang from El Salvador. This collaboration could lead to a surge in violent attacks, robbery sprees, and other criminal activities in the five boroughs of New York City.

Recent incidents, including the arrest of Franco Alexander Peraza Navas, a 30-year-old illegal alien from Venezuela, have highlighted the gang’s involvement in robberies, shoplifting, and a sophisticated scheme targeting New Yorkers’ cell phones to hack their bank accounts. Navas, considered a ringleader, was reportedly involved in criminal operations across multiple states.

The NYPD’s efforts to curb this criminal activity resulted in the arrest of seven Venezuelan illegal aliens for a cellphone robbery scheme and a 15-year-old illegal alien for shoplifting and shooting a female tourist in Times Square. Moreover, ongoing investigations involve tracking down more Venezuelan illegal aliens connected to an attack on officers in Manhattan.
