DOJ Delayed Hunter Biden Charges Ahead of Midterms to Not ‘Shoot Themselves in the Foot’: Whistleblower Docs

Federal prosecutors looking into tax fraud allegations against first son Hunter Biden made a point of delaying a charging decision in the case until after last year’s midterm elections to avoid “shooting themselves in the foot,” according to newly released whistleblower documents.

The revelation came from IRS supervisory agent Gary Shapley’s typed notes following a Sept. 22, 2022, meeting between investigators and prosecutors, during which the Delaware US Attorney’s Office and the Justice Department’s Tax Division “made the decision not to charge until after the election.”

“They said why should they shoot themselves in the foot by charging before,” Shapley wrote in his notes from that day.

The message was relayed to the investigative team by Assistant US Attorney Lesley Wolf, Shapley wrote in an affidavit dated Sept. 20, 2023. (Read more from “DOJ Delayed Hunter Biden Charges Ahead of Midterms to Not ‘Shoot Themselves in the Foot’: Whistleblower Docs” HERE)

New Texts Show Hunter Biden Complaining His Money Is ‘All Gone’ and Seeking Dad’s Help

Hunter Biden told his uncle James in December 2018 that he had run out of money and needed financial assistance from his father, according to new text messages revealed in IRS whistleblower documents.

The now-first son told James Biden that the millions of dollars he’d scooped from his business deals abroad was “all gone” and he could no longer afford school tuition for his three daughters or even basic living expenses.

“I can work when I’m in NYC all day every day for the next 3 months,” Hunter said in the Dec. 29, 2018, message to his uncle.

“But I can’t pay alimony w/o Dad or tuitions or for food and gas. Really it’s all gone.”

“I can go make it up in 15/20 days I’m sure, but he’s basically made it clear that he’s not paying alimony b/c Mom made clear that she won’t do it,” he added. (Read more from “New Texts Show Hunter Biden Complaining His Money Is ‘All Gone’ and Seeking Dad’s Help” HERE)

Hunter Biden Sues Rudy Giuliani Over Laptop

Hunter Biden on Tuesday filed a lawsuit against Rudy Giuliani alleging the former President Trump lawyer violated his privacy rights by illegally disseminating content from Biden’s infamous laptop.

The complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California states Giuliani is “primarily responsible” for the “total annihilation” of Biden’s digital privacy. It also names Robert Costello, a former federal prosecutor who previously represented Giuliani, as a defendant, Fox News has confirmed.

“For the past many months and even years, Defendants have dedicated an extraordinary amount of time and energy toward looking for, hacking into, tampering with, manipulating, copying, disseminating, and generally obsessing over data that they were given that was taken or stolen from Plaintiff’s devices or storage platforms, including what Defendants claim to have obtained from Plaintiff’s alleged ‘laptop’ computer,” Biden’s attorneys wrote in the complaint, claiming that the data was not even from a “laptop,” but from an “external drive.”

The contents of this “external drive” include pictures, videos, emails and other data that since their initial publication by the New York Post in 2020, have placed Biden in legal jeopardy and caused political problems for his father, President Biden. Comer Reveals Hunter Received Foreign Money at Joe’s Home

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) revealed that Hunter Biden received a substantial sum from Beijing in 2019, and the beneficiary address for the wire transfer was that of Joe Biden.

Hunter Biden received two wires in 2019, one for $10,000 on July 26 and one for $250,000 on Aug. 2. Joe Biden announced his candidacy for president on April 26 that year. The transfers are the most recent payments from China that Hunter Biden is found to have received, and they further contradict Joe Biden’s claim in 2020 that his family never received money from China.

“Bank records don’t lie but President Joe Biden does. In 2020, Joe Biden told Americans that his family never received money from China. We’ve already proved that to be a lie earlier this year, and now we know that two wires originating from Beijing listed Joe Biden’s Wilmington home as the beneficiary address when he was running for President of the United States. When Joe Biden was vice president, he spoke on the phone and had coffee with Jonathan Li in Beijing, and later wrote a college letter of recommendation for his children,” Comer said in a statement. Hunter Biden Digs Hole Even Deeper by Falsely Claiming Laptop Was ‘Hacked’

At least Hunter Biden now admits that the emails, pictures and documents are his. That’s progress.

It used to be that Hunter, while caviling about the invasion of his privacy, would not admit that the infamous laptop data actually belonged to him.

Now, in his latest round of vexatious litigation — this time, a lawsuit against 2020 Trump campaign lawyer Rudy Giuliani, as well as Robert Costello, Giuliani’s former lawyer and fellow former federal prosecutor — Team Biden’s position is marginally less incoherent.

Yes, Hunter now concedes, the data belong to him — the damning emails implicating his father, the president of the United States, in the lucrative Biden family influence-peddling business; the records of financial transactions and banking transfers supporting allegations that Hunter and his family, including his father, sold access to Joe Biden’s political influence; the sordid video images depicting the younger Biden’s rampant drug abuse and cavorting with prostitutes — which, along with the money-grabbing, provided rich veins of potential blackmail for hostile foreign regimes to tap.

Hunter’s claim that he was not the generator of this information was never remotely plausible. (Read more from “Hunter Biden Digs Hole Even Deeper by Falsely Claiming Laptop Was ‘Hacked’” HERE)

Most Voters Say Joe Biden Involved in Family Business

Recent polling compared to previous polling data shows a majority of voters consistently believe President Joe Biden was involved in his family’s business, contradicting Joe Biden’s long held position that he never spoke to Hunter Biden about business.

An NBC News survey recently asked 1,000 voters from September 15-19 how concerned they were about “Joe Biden’s possible awareness or involvement in the business dealings of his son, Hunter Biden, including alleged financial wrongdoing and corruption.”

Overall, 60 percent were concerned, while 39 percent were not concerned. Among those who were concerned, 45 percent ranked the concern as a major worry. Fifteen percent said their concern was moderate. Only nine percent said Joe Biden’s involvement was a minor concern. Twenty-eight percent said they had no real concerns. . .

As a consistent majority of Americans believe Joe Biden was involved in the family business, another 60 percent of voters believe Joe Biden is working to cover up his involvement in his family’s business deals with foreign adversaries, a Rasmussen Reports poll found in July. Forty-five percent said a coverup is very likely. Thirty-four percent said it is not likely, including 18 percent who believe it is not at all likely. IRS Whistleblower Was Removed From Hunter Biden Case After Rift With Top Prosecutor, IRS Officials Testify

IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley was removed from the Hunter Biden investigation in December 2022 after he feuded with Delaware U.S. Attorney and lead prosecutor on the case David Weiss, two IRS officials testified to the House Ways and Means Committee.

IRS officials Darren Waldon and Michael Batdorf testified separately before the committee in September and laid out how Weiss’ alleged frustration with Shapley resulted in the IRS agent being taken off the Hunter Biden case, according to transcripts obtained by the Daily Caller.

“I recall having discussions on December 22nd of 2022 about removing Gary Shapley’s investigative team from the investigation,” Batdorf said, page 73 of the transcript shows. He said Weiss and Waldon were on a phone call about removing Shapley and that he followed up with Waldon afterwards.

“I mean, the decision to remove Mr. Shapley was made by Darrell and I in December, when we knew there was an issue — potential issue going forward. We just had not expressed that. It was not official as far as we hadn’t told Gary, because there was no — there’s no investigative steps to be taken,” Batdorf continued. Bob Menendez Hires Hunter Biden’s Lawyer for Federal Corruption Case

Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) has hired the lawyer representing President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, after Menendez was indicted last week on federal corruption charges.

CNBC reported that Menendez hired Abbe Lowell to represent him in the case — the same lawyer that he hired in 2015 to represent him in a similar corruption case, although legal experts have said that the evidence in the current case is much stronger.

Lowell was hired by Hunter Biden after his plea deal fell apart in federal court last month which eventually led to prosecutors charging Hunter Biden on firearm-related charges.

The federal indictment was unsealed against Menendez on Friday, and it accused the senator and his wife of accepting bribes from three business people in exchange for actions that he took as chairman of the powerful Senate Foreign Relations Committee. According to the DOJ, the bribes were intended to protect the businessmen and to benefit Egypt. (Read more from “Bob Menendez Hires Hunter Biden’s Lawyer for Federal Corruption Case” HERE)

Garland Accidentally Admitted Biden DOJ Thwarted Weiss’s Hunter Investigation

U.S. Attorney, now Special Counsel, David Weiss did not have full charging authority during the bulk of his federal investigation into Hunter Biden, Attorney General Merrick Garland slyly admitted in his testimony to the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday.

Garland’s confession contradicts his previous under-oath insistence that Weiss possessed all of the authority he needed to properly charge President Joe Biden’s youngest son with various tax and gun crimes, some of which extended to other jurisdictions.

“You said [Weiss] had complete authority but he’d already been turned down. He wanted to bring an action in the District of Columbia and the U.S. attorney there said ‘no, you can’t.’ And then you go tell the United States Senate under oath that he has complete authority,” Chairman Jim Jordan explained during the hearing.

“No one had the authority to turn him down,” Garland claimed. One second later, Garland divulged that those U.S. attorneys in fact “could refuse to partner with him.”

Ignorant, Pathetic Merrick Garland Wilts on the Hot Seat Before Congress; The Biggest Takeaways From Garland’s Testimony About the Hunter Biden Case

By New York Post. You would think that an attorney general who has presided over the embarrassing debacle of the Hunter Biden investigation would express contrition, or maybe a little anger at the underlings who have shamed him, when he is hauled before a congressional committee to explain his failures. . .

The nation’s chief law enforcement officer has no special insight into the malfeasance unfolding under his nose.

He is just an oblivious bystander, unperturbed by the tyrannical turn the DOJ has taken under his leadership, persecuting his boss’ political enemies and coddling the crooked president’s crooked relatives.

Even though Garland used to be a judge, he makes no judgments at all.

He professes to have no view about US Attorney David Weiss’ farcical five-year “investigation” of the president’s 53-year-old son, Hunter. (Read more from “Ignorant, Pathetic Merrick Garland Wilts on the Hot Seat Before Congress” HERE)

The Biggest Takeaways From Merrick Garland’s Testimony About the Hunter Biden Case

By Daily Caller. Attorney General Merrick Garland testified before the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday and responded to numerous questions surrounding the ongoing Hunter Biden case. . .

Republican Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan pressed Garland on his previous testimony to Republican Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley that Weiss had complete authority. Jordan emphasized Graves’ decision not to “partner” with Weiss on bringing charges against Hunter Biden.

“I’m going to say again that no one had the authority to turn him down, they could refuse to partner with him,” Garland testified in response to Jordan. . .

Republican Louisiana Rep. Mike Johnson questioned Garland on whether his office requested an investigation into the whistleblower testimony.

“There are well-known processes for how whistleblowers make their claims. I am a strong proponent of whistleblowers and a strong defender. We have an inspector general, we have the office of professional responsibility. that is the way in which complaints from whistleblowers should be, and are, appropriately handled,” Garland said.
