Must-See Video: Woman Holds Suspected Arsonist at Gunpoint as Wildfires Rage; Washington Governor Gives Victims Maggot-Infested Apples; Marines, Friends Brave Oregon Wildfire, Help Save Man’s Home

By New York Post. An Oregon woman forced a suspected arsonist to the ground at gunpoint after she found him on her property with matches, dramatic video footage shows.

“What are you doing on my property? Did you light anything on fire?” Kat Cast shouts as she clutches a firearm, according to footage she posted on Facebook.

When the unidentified man responds that he was “just passing through,” she demands to know why he’s holding matches.

“I smoke,” he replies — to which Cast asks to see his cigarettes. The man then admits that he has none, and she holds him there until police arrive and haul him away in handcuffs.

The confrontation came as intense wildfires tear through the state and other parts of the West Coast — with smoke from the blazes reaching as far as Europe. (Read more from “Must-See Video: Woman Holds Suspected Arsonist at Gunpoint as Wildfires Rage” HERE)

Washington Gov. Jay Inslee gives maggot-infested apples to wildfire victims, regrets ‘mistake’

By Fox News. Washington state is known for its apples — but Gov. Jay Inslee didn’t apear to do the popular fruit any public-relations favors last week.

The Democrat, in an effort to bring comfort to communities in Eastern Washington devastated by recent wildfires, unknowingly and illegally gifted baskets of apples from his orchard in Olympia that were later found to be infested with apple maggot larvae, according to reports.

Thurston County, where Inslee lives, is an apple maggot quarantine area –meaning it was illegal for Inslee to bring homegrown apples from that area to a non-quarantine area like Douglas County, according to Q13 FOX in Seattle. . .

A basket of apples the governor gave to a retirement home in Omak, Wash., later tested positive for apple maggot larvae so officials were desperately trying to find the basket he left at a church in Omak, Wash., but no one knows where it went, according to the station. US Marines, friends brave Oregon wildfire, help save man’s home: report

By Fox News. A pair of U.S. Marines and their friends heading back from a road trip last week made a pit stop to save an Oregon man’s burning home during the state’s deadly wildfires.

The group was driving through what they described as “hell” near Estacada, Ore., on Labor Day, Sept. 7, when they spotted firefighters battling a fire. Video posted online shows at least one of the group members — wearing shorts — holding a sprinkler within feet of the blaze. . .

Louie Bec, one of the Marines in the video, said he noticed the large fires and just wanted to help.

“We saw a fire approaching a man’s house and firefighters were fighting another fire so we helped him,” he told Storyful. “I didn’t want to see that guy’s house go down.”

The official Twitter account of the U.S. Marine Corps appeared to get word out about their actions Wednesday night, posting the caption: “Facing Fire.”

Black Marine Vet Holds U.S. Flag Amid Portland Riots, Antifa Follows Him Home

For more than 50 nights, Gabriel Johnson, 48, a retired Marine, has been kept awake by the sounds of rioting and explosions taking place outside his window in Portland, Ore. After two months of living in fear, at 3 a.m. Sunday he had had enough, “at that point I [had] counted 82 explosions and just thought, you know, somebody has to do something.”

Living only a block away from the Mark O. Hatfield U.S. Courthouse in downtown Portland, which has become an epicenter of violence that has overtaken the city, Johnson marched into the chaos with his American flag in hand. . .

“I was being called the N-word by Black people. People were chasing me around with baseball bats,” Johnson told Fox News. . .

“Antifa has infiltrated Black Lives Matter,” Johnson said as he described a woman dressed in Black Lives Matter gear who showed him threatening footage of protesters following him back to his home, and letting him know they were keeping tabs on him. According to Johnson, this woman was also holding an Antifa pen and was communicating with others via walkie-talkie.

“These people have nothing to do with Black lives. Our Black community leaders need to stand up and lead because what’s happening is they’re letting a group of terrorists that don’t represent me use me, and that’s not right,” said Johnson. Militants Gang up on Elderly Man, Then One of Them — Apparently a Woman — Punches Him in Face (VIDEO)

A militant in Portland, Oregon — apparently a woman — was caught on video punching an elderly man in the face while an accompanying left-wing mob was harassing and ganging up on him. . .

Photojournalist Alex Milan Tracy posted video of the attack on Twitter early Monday morning and wrote that the victim reportedly said “f*** black lives” as he was surrounded behind the Justice Center, where rioters have been attacking police and destroying property seemingly on a nightly basis for some time.

There is no audible utterance of “f*** black lives” on the clip, however.

Instead it shows the man, sporting a white facial hair, arguing with leftist militants in the street. . .

When he catches up to his bike, the elderly man keeps arguing with the mob while the leftist militant who dragged his bike away walks right up and punches him in the face, staggering him backward.

Rioters Cost Portland Businesses Millions

Downtown businesses in Portland, Oregon, have sustained about $23 million in damages and lost customers because of violent nightly protests that have brought the city to its knees, authorities said Wednesday.

At a police briefing, Deputy Chief Chris Davis said the intensity of the violence by an “agitator corps” and the length of the protests that are now in their sixth week are unprecedented in Oregon’s largest city.

Davis made a sharp distinction between Black Lives Matter protesters, whom he said were not violent, and a smaller group of people he repeatedly called “agitators.” . . .

Protesters have demonstrated for 41 consecutive nights against racial injustice and police brutality following the police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis, and they are increasingly focusing their actions on federal properties, including Mark O. Hatfield Federal Courthouse in the heart of the downtown business district.

Authorities have declared riots several times and used tear gas to disperse demonstrators. A recently issued federal court order bans the police from using the tear gas unless a riot is declared, but critics have challenged the police on what constitutes a riot and who makes the decision to designate a protest as an unlawful event. County Issues Face Mask Order That Exempts Non-White People

Lincoln County, Oregon, has exempted non-white people from a new order requiring that face coverings be worn in public — to prevent racial profiling.

Health officials announced last week residents must wear face coverings in public settings where they may come within six feet of another individual who is not from the same household.

But people of color do not have to follow the new rule if they have “heightened concerns about racial profiling and harassment” over wearing the masks, officials said. . .

With mask requirements becoming more common, activists have raised concerns that the directives could put non-white people in danger.

“For many black people, deciding whether or not to wear a bandanna in public to protect themselves and others from contracting coronavirus is a lose-lose situation that can result in life-threatening consequences either way,” ReNika Moore, director of the ACLU’s Racial Justice Program, told CNN. WATCH: George Washington Statue Destroyed by Rioters; General Grant, Francis Scott Key, Others Torn Down Across U.S., Too

By New York Post. Protesters in Portland, Oregon, wrapped a statue of George Washington in an American flag, lit it on fire — then pulled it down Thursday night, according to a report.

The demonstrators toppled the towering bronze sculpture of the first US president — who owned slaves in the 1700s — during a protest on the eve of Juneteeth, a holiday celebrating the abolition of slavery, over the police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis, according to CBS affiliate KOIN-TV.

After the founding father’s statue came crashing down, vandals defaced it with graffiti, then left it face-down in Rose City Park before fleeing around 11 p.m., the station reported.

They spray-painted the words “F–K COPS” and “BIG FLOYD” on the statue’s base, according to footage posted on Twitter.

Portland police arrived later but it wasn’t immediately clear if any arrests were made, according to the station. (Read more from “George Washington Statue Destroyed by Rioters” HERE)

Business Owner Who Defiantly Reopened Says Child Protective Services Questioned Her Family

An Oregon business owner who reopened in defiance of Democratic Gov. Kate Brown’s lockdown order said Child Protective Services showed up at her house and questioned her children.

Lindsey Graham, owner of the Glamour Salon in Salem, vowed earlier this month to reopen her business despite the possible consequences of violating the stay-at-home order.

“I’m risking going to jail to do it. That’s how important it is to my family,” she said, according to KPTV-TV. “I’m deciding that it’s more important for me to feed my family and pay the bills that are going to keep our home and our family alive than take the risk to remain being shut down for an undisclosed amount of time.” . . .

“If you can possibly believe this, on May 7 Child Protective Services showed up at my home. They questioned my husband and I, they questioned my child without me present, they searched our home,” Graham said, KOIN-TV reported. . .

Graham will face more fines if she continues to operate her business — something she vowed to do. (Read more from “Business Owner Who Defiantly Reopened Says Child Protective Services Questioned Her Family” HERE)

Moving Goalposts: Oregon Governor Now Demanding COVID-19 Cases Drop BELOW Flu Levels to Reopen

If you think the coronavirus fascism will die with the flattening of the coronavirus curve, I have a wet market to sell you in Wuhan.

It’s becoming abundantly clear that the lockdown was not a temporary, unprecedented strategy to flatten the curve, but is a pretext to use a dramatically low threshold of risk to continue crushing liberty, the economy, and releasing criminals from prison. The tyrannical governors are essentially saying that in order to end any lockdown and even move towards targeted mitigation, we must test everyone every day before they are allowed to breathe, that there must be almost no cases of COVID-19 around (even if there are few deaths outside nursing homes), and that we must contact-trace and monitor society with a police state even after the virus has already reached tens of millions of people.

Oregon Governor Kate Brown announced this week that each county must submit a plan to reopen and must also show that its COVID-19 illnesses are less than the historic average of flu cases seen at this time of year.

This is a state that has just 115 deaths, 60% of which have been in senior living homes. Most of the recent deaths have been in nursing homes and similar facilities. Overall, 81% of all deaths were people with serious underlying conditions. We are literally talking about a handful of people outside nursing homes dying in the entire state, which by itself demonstrates that this has a very low fatality rate for most people, yet the governor is focused on the number of overall cases, which is enormous.

So now the goalposts have moved, from flattening the curve of hospitalizations to flattening the total cases and then to bringing them below flu levels.

Many governors are extending the lockdowns despite nearly all the recent deaths occurring in nursing homes. Governor Phil Murphy of New Jersey made it clear that the lockdown has no timeline “whether you like it or not.”

This demonstrates moving forward that the threshold for pushing these lockdowns will be remarkably low, with no understanding of or regard for the collateral damage. This will not be once-in-a-millennium phenomenon. Now that this epidemic, several weeks after the peak, is more or less confined to nursing homes and a few other vulnerable populations, it is on par, at this point, with many other epidemics that were barely noticed in the news, much less that caused a national shutdown.

But perhaps the biggest lie of the entire lockdown strategy is the premise that it has helped at all, especially as compared to commonsense mitigation, as opposed to doing nothing. Lockdowns and contact tracing only helped in countries that did it early on before the virus spread far and wide, and even most of the Asian countries didn’t shut down their economies, and some didn’t shut down the schools. Iceland, Israel, and Germany began their efforts very early, and the former two are small and homogenously healthy countries, as are most of the Nordic countries with good results. Plus, Israeli researchers now believe the lockdown was a mistake.

What America and most of the other large European countries did was the worst of all worlds. They did lockdown after the virus had already been spreading rapidly for weeks and even peaked in transmissions. It’s why one comprehensive study found “no evidence of any discontinuity in the growth rate, doubling time, and reproduction number trends” in lockdown countries in Europe. “Extrapolating pre-lockdown growth rate trends, we provide estimates of the death toll in the absence of any lockdown policies, and show that these strategies might not have saved any life in western Europe,” wrote the author.

One comprehensive study of Lombardy by Italian researchers of the first 5,830 laboratory-confirmed cases there found that the virus had already peaked in terms of transmissions and reproduction on February 20 – before any lockdown. The cake was already baked.

We are seeing the same thing in New York as Andrew Cuomo is “shocked” that most of the hospitalizations now are from people who already have been staying home. “If you notice, 18% of the people came from nursing homes, less than 1% came from jail or prison, 2% came from the homeless population, 2% from other congregate facilities, but 66% of the people were at home, which is shocking to us,” Cuomo said yesterday during his daily press conference.

“This is a surprise: Overwhelmingly, the people were at home,” he added. “We thought maybe they were taking public transportation, and we’ve taken special precautions on public transportation, but actually no, because these people were literally at home.”

You discovered reality, Sherlock!

What most of the European countries and America did was take a virus that had already been spreading to some degree for months, and earnestly for weeks, and locked everyone down together. Which is why most studies show family spread is the most common form of transmission.

As Dr. David Katz said during a Senate Homeland Security Committee remote hearing yesterday, “We may have closed the barn door after all of the horses were out.”

The only reason for a lockdown is if you are a poor country with not enough resources to handle the patients at once. While we were never overrun, we could have justified lockdown for a week or two to delay some of the hospitalizations. Other than that, no lives are saved in the long run at this late stage, and so many more are lost from the unfathomable and incalculable collateral damage.

Instead of a lockdown and testing the entire country, the contact tracing, virus testing, and restrictions must all be focused on nursing homes, where more than half the deaths have occurred and most of the new deaths are occurring. The rest of the population needs to follow a stratified risk assessment to determine the best way forward to achieve herd immunity.

It’s not that the governing elites don’t know this. They know exactly what they are doing. As Thomas Jefferson warned, “The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield and government to gain ground.” Lockdowns are the perfect strategy to permanently change the relationship between the citizen and the government, because they accomplish nothing but perpetuate a need for themselves. As Dr. Katz said at yesterday’s hearing, “The problem with an interdiction strategy that starts and ends with flattening the curve is that it can never stop.” (2:49:35)

And that is exactly what so many in politics want. (For more from the author of “Moving Goalposts: Oregon Governor Now Demanding COVID-19 Cases Drop Below Flu Levels to Reopen” please click HERE)

U.S. County Sets up a No Whites Wanted COVID-19 ‘Safe Space’

If you thought “we’re all in this together” battling COVID-19, Multnomah County, Ore., is here to set you straight. We’re not “in this together,” it turns out. . .

And now, in the era of COVID-19, Multnomah County Emergency Operations Equity Office has set up a “grounding space” for minorities to get away from “whiteness.”

The Emergency Operations Center Equity Officer is hosting a grounding space for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) employees to share, heal, connect, and get grounded in a space that is not dominated by whiteness.

. . .

Multnomah County defended its non-dominant “whiteness” space, telling Just the News,

“Multnomah County is acting lawfully,” Julie Sullivan-Springhetti, Multnomah County communications director, said in a statement to Just the News. “The space excludes no one. It is based on shared lived experience not identity. The same way our employee resource groups for veterans, parents, and people with a disability are based on life experience and not identity. All are welcome here.”

Lockdown Ads: Leaving Home Might Make You a Murderer (VIDEO); Lawyer Arrested for Allegedly Threatening Governor Over Lockdown

By The Federalist. Two ghoulish ads out of Oregon’s “Stay Home Save Lives” campaign aim to keep Oregonians compliant with Gov. Kate Brown’s coronavirus lockdown through falsehood, fear, and guilt.

A 60-second video titled “Accidental” has garnered more than 2.8 million views on YouTube, not including when it plays as an ad before other videos. By the alarming tone it strikes with its block-lettered assumptions overlaying somber black and white pictures, you’d think Oregon’s health authorities were begging citizens with a hankering for human flesh not to chew their neighbors. It opens with a question we apparently all should be asking ourselves daily: “Did you accidentally kill someone today?”

“You’re already extremely contagious” before COVID-19 symptoms manifest, it states, before claiming that every infected person will infect three more people, contributing to an exponential growth curve and leaving hospitals with more patients than they can treat. Lest the brain-munching zombies of Oregon forget the crucial question put to them 45 seconds ago, the pandemic iteration of “Have you stopped beating your wife yet?” soon follows: Do you want to kill someone today?

“Don’t accidentally kill someone,” it warns, as if reminding us not to stick our hands in a wood chipper. “Stay home. Save lives.”

Lawyer Arrested for Allegedly Threatening Kentucky Governor Over Lockdown

By New York Post. A Louisville lawyer was arrested after allegedly threatening the life of Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear while criticizing the state’s coronavirus quarantine measures.

James Troutman, 53, faces a misdemeanor charge of third-degree terroristic threatening over comments he made against the governor on Facebook under the account of “Greg Troutman,” which police traced back to the lawyer, according to the local outlet WDRB.

“Maybe some should ask Beshear in a press conference about his thoughts on William Goebel. For those of you who don’t know the history…it’s a good read…” Troutman posted on the site on April 15.

Goebel was Kentucky’s 34th governor who was fatally shot in an assassination a day before he was sworn into office in 1900. . .

Police arrested Troutman Tuesday. While questioning him, cops said Troutman offered a detailed history of Goebel’s assassination and expressed an intent to commit a crime “likely to result in death or serious physical injury to the Kentucky governor,” the outlet reported.
