By The Blaze. Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein (Calif.) said Thursday that China is “growing into a respectable nation” during a speech cautioning America against holding the communist country accountable for misleading the global community at the start of the coronavirus pandemic.

“We hold China as a potential trading partner, as a country that has pulled tens of millions of people out of poverty in a short period of time, and as a country growing into a respectable nation amongst other nations. I deeply believe that,” Feinstein said during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing.

The senator’s comments fly in the face of numerous reports indicating that the Chinese Communist Party engaged in a cover-up of the origins and dangers of the coronavirus in the crucial early days and weeks of the outbreak, often silencing doctors and journalists attempting to get the truth out. . .

Also, Feinstein’s comments come amid a flood of damning reports that portray human rights abuses carried out by the communist government, namely the mass detention and forced sterilization of Uighurs, a Muslim ethnic minority in China’s Xinjiang region. Rep. Jackie Walorski Demands Hearing on China’s ‘Espionage’ Into U.S. Vaccine

By New York Post. An Indiana congresswoman on Friday demanded a separate hearing on “Chinese espionage” into the US’s efforts to develop a vaccine – prompting a terse response from her colleague on the special coronavirus committee.

Republican Rep. Jackie Walorski made the request while questioning Dr. Anthony Fauci on China’s role in the spread of the virus during the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis hearing.

“I don’t know how in the world that we could stand there and say no, I don’t think China is a threat to a vaccine for this country when we just indicted two people,” Walorski said, referring to the recent arrest of two Chinese hackers charged with trying to steal COVID-19 vaccine research from government agencies and private companies.

“I think we need to investigate that answer on cybersecurity. Why can’t we have a hearing in here?” she asked, before demanding a “commitment” from Rep. Crime-Ridden Seattle Moves to Abolish ENTIRE Police Force

Well, it may be time to deploy the military to Seattle after all because what local lawmakers are doing is nothing short of allowing the city to be engulfed in violence and anarchy. They’re moving to abolish the police. It’s not defunding. It’s a total dissolution. Non-profit programs and “community-led activities” will replace policing. Why? Well, according to the resolution, the Seattle Police Department perpetuates racism and violence. Oh, yes, and it’s a vehicle of white supremacy. WATCH: ‘Peaceful Protesters’ Light Pig Head and American Flag on Fire in Portland Riots

By Townhall. Despite demonstrably false reporting from the leftist media, congressional Democrats, and late-night comedy hosts on HBO, Portland, Oregon has remained the scene of terror and destruction for more than two months.

On Thursday, activists took aim at the city Justice Center creating a horrific display involving a severed pig head wearing a policeman’s hat, sitting on an American flag. The deceased animal’s head and flag were both lit on fire. Andy Ngo of the Post Millennial reported from the Justice Center.

The display of violence meant to strike fear in the hearts of law enforcement officers in Portland was certainly not part of any peaceful protest. Police found an abandoned pet pig not far from that area in the earlier days of riots; they believed that was a first attempt to kill an animal in order to send a message to the police but the perpetrators abandoned their plan before they were able to carry it out.

Oregon Police in Portland Try to Quell Nightly Protests, Riots

By Fox News. Oregon State Police have taken over the role of guarding a courthouse in Portland after more than 60 nights of protests that at times turned into violent riots, and increasingly targeted the federal building.

Stepping up state and local officers’ presence was part of a deal between the Democratic governor and the Trump administration that aimed to draw down the number of U.S. agents during the unrest. . .

Portland police cleared out a park Thursday morning across from the Mark O. Hatfield Federal Courthouse that demonstrators have used as a staging ground, but reopened it shortly before dark.

Police said Thursday night’s demonstration near the courthouse was less violent, although people at times “lit small fires along sidewalks on surrounding blocks and attempted to light fires inside the fence at the federal courthouse.”

Under the deal announced by Gov. Kate Brown, federal agents sent by President Donald Trump began a phased withdrawal, with Oregon State Police taking over outside the building. But federal officials insist agents would remain on standby in case they’re needed.

Queen of Vote Fraud, Lisa Murkowski, Hammers Trump for Suggesting Presidential Election May Need to be Delayed, Insists Congress Keeps Elections “Safe and Secure”

By Breitbart. President Donald Trump on Thursday predicted the 2020 election would be the “most inaccurate and fraudulent” in history, and even suggested delaying it as Democrats continue promoting vote by mail during the coronavirus pandemic.

“Delay the Election until people can properly, securely and safely vote???” he asked on Twitter.

The president repeated mail-in voting was proving to be a “catastrophic disaster.”

“With Universal Mail-In Voting (not Absentee Voting, which is good), 2020 will be the most INACCURATE & FRAUDULENT Election in history,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “It will be a great embarrassment to the USA.”

The president also suggested mail-in voting would open up the 2020 election to foreign influence.

Queen of Vote Fraud, Lisa Murkowski, Derides Trump, Says Congress Has Been Ensuring “Safe and Secure Elections”

By Newsweek. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and other top Republicans flatly rejected President Donald Trump’s suggestion Thursday that the November elections should be delayed[.] . . .

Trump cannot simply “delay the election,” as he implied, because it would require congressional action. The date is set by an 1845 law and would require a constitutional amendment to postpone past December. And the president’s assertions about vote-by-mail fraud are unfounded, given the little evidence in the past few decades.

Senator Lindsey Graham, a Trump confidant, said that while he feels the president’s concerns about mail-in voting are “valid,” he believes “delaying is not the right answer.”

Flynn Update: Full DC Appeals Court Reinstates Case Against Retired General

An appeals court has agreed to take up the case against retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, which the Justice Department is attempting to dismiss.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit issued an order on Thursday that states that oral arguments for the en banc review by the full appeals court are scheduled for Aug. 11, after a three-judge appeals court panel agreed with the Trump administration and Flynn’s legal team, ordering the district court to allow DOJ lawyers to drop the charges. The order vacates the one dealt by the smaller panel last month.

Judge Emmet Sullivan, who is overseeing the Flynn case, had filed a petition for a rehearing of the case against President Trump’s former national security adviser by the full appeals court.

Flynn, a target of the special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation, pleaded guilty in December 2017 to lying to FBI investigators about his December 2016 conversations with a Russian envoy, but after changing legal teams, Flynn began to claim he was innocent and had been set up by the FBI. After Attorney General William Barr appointed U.S. Attorney Jeffrey Jensen to review the Flynn case, who has unearthed a host of new documents deemed exculpatory by Flynn’s lawyers, the Justice Department engaged in an effort to get the case dropped.

The order Thursday extends the timeline of the legal fight closer to the November election. It may put more pressure on Trump, who told reporters this month he hopes Flynn is “going to be able to win it,” to consider a pardon for his former adviser.

$15,000 Gold Price? Experts Give Forecasts (VIDEO)

Gold prices have hit all-time highs, but industry heavyweights Jim Rickards, best-selling author, and Peter Schiff, CEO of Euro Pacific Capital, both think that the rally is far from over.

Rickards’ analysis points the gold price to $15,000 by 2025.

“I would put [gold at $15,000 an ounce before 2025,” Rickards told Kitco News. “If you just take the average of the prior bull markets: 1971 to 1980, nine years, 2200%, 1999 to 2011, a twelve-year bull market, about 700%. Just take the average, you don’t have to go to the higher of the two or extrapolate, if you just take the average of the two you would say the next bull market is going to be a little over 10 years and it’s going to go up 1500%,” he said.

10,000 Child Deaths per Month Due to COVID-Linked Mass Hunger

By Life Site News. Over 10,000 children are now dying each month due to the economic disruption that COVID-19 restrictions have imposed in Latin America, Southern Asia, and sub-Saharan African communities.

In those regions, families are faced with a stark future without enough food, according to a study published in The Lancet.

“The unprecedented global social and economic crisis triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic poses grave risks to the nutritional status and survival of young children in low-income and middle-income countries,” according to the medical journal. “Of particular concern is an expected increase in child malnutrition, including wasting, due to steep declines in household incomes, changes in the availability and affordability of nutritious foods, and interruptions to health, nutrition, and social protection services.”

“It’s been seven months since the first COVID-19 cases were reported and it is increasingly clear that the repercussions of the pandemic are causing more harm to children than the disease itself,” said UNICEF Executive Director Henrietta Fore in a press release. Virus-Linked Hunger Tied to 10,000 Child Deaths Each Month

By Associated Press. . .All around the world, the coronavirus and its restrictions are pushing already hungry communities over the edge, cutting off meager farms from markets and isolating villages from food and medical aid. Virus-linked hunger is leading to the deaths of 10,000 more children a month over the first year of the pandemic, according to an urgent call to action from the United Nations shared with The Associated Press ahead of its publication in the Lancet medical journal.

Further, more than 550,000 additional children each month are being struck by what is called wasting, according to the U.N. — malnutrition that manifests in spindly limbs and distended bellies. Over a year, that’s up 6.7 million from last year’s total of 47 million. Wasting and stunting can permanently damage children physically and mentally, transforming individual tragedies into a generational catastrophe.

Biden’s Terrifying Promise: To Undo ALL Trump Pro-Life Policies If Elected

Biden dedicated one section of his Agenda for Women to “Reproductive Health,” which is generally a reference to abortion. The former vice president under President Barack Obama said he “will work to codify Roe v. Wade, and his Justice Department will do everything in its power to stop the rash of state laws that so blatantly violate Roe v. Wade.” . . .

Joe Biden said he wanted to repeal the Hyde Amendment by reissuing “guidance specifying that states cannot refuse Medicaid funding for Planned Parenthood and other providers and reverse the Trump Administration’s rule preventing these organizations from obtaining Title X funds.” . . .

As a lifelong Catholic, I follow the basic truths of my faith, which teaches that abortion is a sin. Joe Biden is a pretend Catholic. . .

Hurricane Center: Americans Should Start Preparing for Major Storm

The U.S. should prepare for “impacts from winds, heavy rainfall and storm surge” as Tropical Storm Isaias heads along its forecasted path toward the East Coast, the U.S. National Hurricane Center warned Thursday.

The storm, as of Thursday afternoon, was battering Puerto Rico with sustained winds of up to 60 mph and was about 85 miles southeast of Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic.

“There is a risk of impacts from winds, heavy rainfall, and storm surge along portions of the U.S. East Coast beginning this weekend in Florida and spreading northward to the Carolinas and southern mid-Atlantic states early next week,” the Hurricane Center said in an advisory, adding that “tropical storm or hurricane watches could be issued for portions of South Florida later today.”

Isaias will “produce heavy rains and potentially life-threatening flash flooding and mudslides across Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, northern Haiti, the Turks and Caicos, and the Bahamas” while making its way toward the U.S. . .

The storm so far has knocked out power to more than 400,000 clients across Puerto Rico and left about 150,000 customers without water, according to government officials. GOP Lawmakers Push Resolution Supporting Nation’s Law Enforcement Officers; Actor Tyler Perry: ‘We Need MORE Police’ (VIDEO)

By Fox News. Rep. Ken Buck, R-Colo., is introducing a resolution to express support for the nation’s law enforcement and reject efforts to defund the police.

“Democrat mayors and governors are allowing anarchists to burn our cities to the ground,” Buck said in a statement to Fox News. “The least we can do is offer our nation’s law enforcement officers our sincerest thanks and appreciation for their sacrifice to serve our communities regardless of the political winds of the day. Defunding the police will only make our cities less safe.”

A number of cities, such as Los Angeles and New York, have moved to divert massive amounts of money from law enforcement. Cities like Berkeley and San Francisco have moved to stop cops from conducting traffic stops. . .

Buck’s resolution currently has more than 20 cosigners. William Johnson, the executive director of the National Association of Police Organizations (NAPO), endorsed the legislation in a letter of support of it.

“With this resolution, you are standing up and acknowledging the dedicated and ethical services of the men and women in law enforcement. Actor Tyler Perry: ‘We Need MORE Police’

By The Hill. Actor and director Tyler Perry said Wednesday night that he does not support “taking money from the police department,” with the media mogul adding that he believes “we need more police” amid calls to defund departments nationwide.

“You gotta understand this: I am not for taking money from the police department. I think we need more police,” Perry said told CNN’s Anderson Cooper.

“My studio is in a neighborhood where I think we need police. But we don’t need police that are undertrained,” he added. Perry’s studio, one of the largest in the world, is located in Atlanta, at the former Fort McPherson Army base.

“I think we need the police. I know that I need the police. I have several that work for me here at the studio,” the 50-year-old star said. “We need them. But we need them reformed. We need them trained well, we need the right structure.”
