Best-Selling Book Claims That Great Britain Was Originally a Black Nation

“The very first Britons were black” and “every single British person comes from a migrant”. What’s more, “Britain has been a mostly white country for a lot less time than it has been a mostly black country”. These are some of the claims made in a new children’s book entitled ‘Brilliant Black British History’. (The book, incidentally, is published by Bloomsbury – which cancelled Nigel Biggar’s meticulous work on the British Empire because of concerns about “public feeling”.)

You might be tempted to dismiss such claims as the eccentric writings of a single, black-British author with no real influence. Yet the book is already a number one best seller – having received plaudits from numerous black public figures, as well as the Guardian newspaper.

But it doesn’t stop there. The very same claims are being peddled by an organisation no less influential than the BBC. A 2021 children’s video titled ‘Been Here From the Start’ – which recently went viral on social media – portrays a black actor dressed as a caveman singing lines such as, “for 10,000 British years some Brits have looked like me.”

And in fact, this isn’t even the first BBC video showcasing ancient Britain as a land inhabited by black people. An educational cartoon titled ‘Life in Iron Age Britain’, which forms part of the 2016 ‘Story of Britain’ series, features a blacksmith of unmistakably black appearance. Another video from the same series portrays one of the nobles present at the signing of Magna Carta as a black man. DeSantis Outlines Major Shift He’d Make in U.S. Military

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said during a radio interview this week that he envisions, as president, dramatically scaling up the size of the U.S. Navy to prevent war with communist China.

DeSantis made the remarks while talking to Hugh Hewitt on Wednesday about a variety of issues, including what he is looking for in a vice presidential running mate and an attorney general nominee.

While discussing the threat that China poses to the U.S., DeSantis said that it was important to have “a whole of society approach to fending off the CCP.”

“This is our top threat. This decade will be the decisive decade,” he said. “This is a military confrontation, perhaps, a technological, economic, cultural, all of those things. We need to be, have national policy geared towards fending off the CCP. And I think that Washington’s policy, the D.C. kind of smart tank, they’ve had all bark and very little bite with respect to China. I think on the current course, China will surpass us as we get into the next decade.” (Read more from “DeSantis Outlines Major Shift He’d Make in U.S. Military” HERE)

Pelosi Evicted From Her Private Office in the Capitol by Interim House Speaker

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., was evicted from her private Capitol office by the new speaker pro-tempore.

Fox News Digital confirmed that House Speaker pro-tempore Patrick McHenry, R-N.C., gave the order to Pelosi to vacate her Capitol hideaway by Wednesday.

McHenry is a close ally to now-former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., who was ousted from his role on Tuesday.

McHenry’s eviction order was one of the congressman’s first acts as the top House lawmaker. (Read more from “Pelosi Evicted From Her Private Office in the Capitol by Interim House Speaker” HERE)

McCarthy Ousted as Speaker, No Plans to Run Again

Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) will not seek to regain the Speaker’s gavel, he announced Tuesday night hours after losing a motion to vacate the chair.

McCarthy spoke and took questions for 45 minutes after announcing his intentions to step down to his GOP colleagues in a closed-door meeting.

“I believe I can continue to fight, maybe in a different manner,” McCarthy told a packed Capitol room outside the Speaker’s office. “I will not run for Speaker again, I’ll have the conference pick somebody else.”

The former Speaker spoke whimsically at times about his long journey to the speakership and expressed no regrets over the choices he made in the days leading up to Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) filing the motion to vacate that ended his tenure.

“Doing the right thing isn’t always easy, but it is necessary,” he said, smiling. “I don’t regret standing up for choosing governing over grievance.” (Read more from “McCarthy Ousted as Speaker, No Plans to Run Again” HERE)

Top Hunter Biden Prosecutor Appeared to Violate DOJ Policy by Sending Letters to Congress, Emails Show

Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss, special counsel in the ongoing Hunter Biden case, appeared to violate Department of Justice (DOJ) policy by writing letters to Congress on behalf of Attorney General Merrick Garland, internal emails show.

The DOJ instructed Weiss in May 2022 that he was not allowed to respond to Congressional inquiries about the Hunter Biden case and must defer to the DOJ Office of Legislative Affairs (OLA), internal DOJ emails obtained by the Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project demonstrate. The emails were first reported Tuesday by The Federalist.

“Consistent with my conversation with [redacted] last night, we are supposed to forward this and any other correspondence to OLA. Per DOJ policy, only OLA can respond on behalf of the Department to a request from the legislative branch,” Shannon Hanson, an official in the Delaware U.S. Attorney’s office, emailed Weiss on May 25, 2022.

“David: I would like to forward this to [redacted]. If you would also want us to respond as an office, letting the Senators know that we have forwarded the information to OLA, I recommend we do so through [redacted] cced here. Please let me know how you wish to proceed,” she added. (Read more from “Top Hunter Biden Prosecutor Appeared to Violate DOJ Policy by Sending Letters to Congress, Emails Show” HERE)

‘Shouldn’t Be in the GOP’: House Republicans Slam Matt Gaetz, Others Who Voted Out Kevin McCarthy

Several House Republicans slammed Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz and other conservatives for voting to oust Speaker Kevin McCarthy on Tuesday.

The House voted 216 to 210 adopting the motion to vacate the speaker filed by Gaetz after McCarthy led the chamber in passing a 47-day continuing resolution to avoid a government shutdown over the weekend. Republican Reps. Don Bacon of Nebraska, Dan Crenshaw of Texas, Mike Collins of Georgia and Derrick Van Orden of Wisconsin, who all voted against the motion, criticized the eight GOP members who voted with Democrats to remove McCarthy from the speakership.

“I’d love to have (Gaetz) out of the conference,” Bacon told CNN’s Annie Grayer following the vote. “He shouldn’t be in the GOP Party.”

Rep. Kelly Armstrong of North Dakota, who also voted against McCarthy’s ouster, told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer that he expects there will be an effort to expel Gaetz, as well.

“If you’re voting with every single Democrat in the House to oust a Republican Speaker, it’s not about winning for your constituents. It’s not about winning for conservatives. Based on all the fundraising emails we are seeing, it’s only about personal attention,” Crenshaw wrote in a tweet. “There are people who fight for you, and people who fight for your attention. Big difference.” (Read more from “‘Shouldn’t Be in the GOP’: House Republicans Slam Matt Gaetz, Others Who Voted Out Kevin McCarthy” HERE)

Republicans Lead Democrats on Americans’ ‘Most Important’ Issue: Poll

The Republican Party is more trusted than the Democratic Party to solve voters’ “Most Important Problem,” according to a new poll.

The results are from a Gallup poll taken from September 1-23 that shows Republicans with a solid edge over Democrats on issues such as economic policy and national security. The poll also showed that roughly 6-in-10 Americans disapprove of President Joe Biden’s performance, and roughly 8-in-10 disapprove of Congress’ performance.

In addition to leads on big issues, the Republican Party has a sizable lead on whatever voters consider to be the “most important” problem facing the country, according to Gallup.

“Forty-four percent say the Republican Party is better, while 36% name the Democratic Party and the rest say the parties are the same or have no preference. This is at a time when the economy, government/poor leadership and immigration lead Americans’ open-ended responses when asked to name the most important problem facing the country,” Gallup reported.

The poll showed the Republican Party leads Democrats on economic matters 53% to 39%, the largest edge Republicans have had on the issue since 1991. Republicans are also preferred by Americans to handle national security issues over Democrats 57% to 35%. Cardinals up in Arms Over Pope’s Remarks About LGBT Blessings, Ordination of Women

A group of cardinals is concerned about the development of Catholic doctrine ahead of the upcoming Synod on Synodality.

Cardinals Raymond Burke, Walter Brandmüller, Joseph Zen Ze-kiun, Juan Sandoval Íñiguez and Robert Sarah submitted a set of dubia, formal requests to the pope and Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith for clarification on doctrine, in July.

The dubia requested clarification on five specific issues the cardinals believe have lacked clarity from the Holy See: the inability to reinterpret divine revelation, the inadmissibility of blessings for same-sex couples, the hierarchical authority of bishops, the ordination of women to the priesthood and the necessity for repentance for sacramental absolution.

Dubia are typically answered with simple yes or no responses, but Pope Francis answered the list of topics in long form in the same month. (Read more from “Cardinals up in Arms Over Pope’s Remarks About LGBT Blessings, Ordination of Women” HERE)

Report: Biden Administration ‘Scrambling’ to Assure Allies That Ukraine Aid Will Continue

The Biden administration is “scrambling” to try to assure U.S. allies that American aid to Ukraine will continue despite growing Republican opposition to it, according to a report.

Four sources told Axios that President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken plan to call several of their counterparts in Europe and will hold a conference call with leaders of the G7 countries and several other European allies.

A European diplomat told the outlet that the Biden administration told allies it is working on an agreement with Congress to allow continued military aid to Ukraine.

The outreach began Sunday after Congress passed a short-term funding measure that was stripped of any funding for Ukraine. Biden had signed the measure into law, calling it “good news” since it kept the government funded, and said he fully expected McCarthy to “keep his commitment to the people of Ukraine and secure passage of the support needed to help Ukraine at this critical moment.” Biden also said that he had “just made” a deal with McCarthy about continuing Ukraine funding. Jamaal Bowman: I Pulled the Fire Alarm Because…Republicans Are Nazis?

Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) has tried and so far largely failed to explain or justify his decision to pull a fire alarm in a Capitol Hill office building as Congress rushed to avert a federal government shutdown. Now, his desperation to put an end to criticism and push back on punishment for his conduct from House Republicans has taken a predictable but pathetic turn. . .

So scrambling to take the heat off of himself, Bowman’s office suggested Democrats in Congress asked about the situation choose from a list of “suggested talking points” to back up their colleague-under-fire ranging from the literally unbelievable to the utterly absurd. . .

Here’s a sampling of what Bowman wants his colleagues to say about Bowman’s apparent caught-on-tape breach of DC and federal laws:

. . .

“I believe Congressman Bowman when he says this was an accident. Republicans need to instead focus their energy on the Nazi members of their party before anything else.”

“There are multiple insurrectionist supporters in Congress and more who supported a coup and support Trumpʼs Big Lie. Thatʼs what they should be focused on. Instead their focus on Rep. Bowman is an attempt to minimize January 6th.”
