Former Obama Campaign Manager: Dem Nominee Is Going to Be ‘Broke and Tired’

President Barack Obama’s 2008 campaign manager, David Plouffe, is working with Acronym, a progressive organization that plans to spend $75 million on digital advertising in key battleground states, The New York Times reported. It turns out the left is increasingly concerned about President Donald Trump’s lead in battleground states, which is why the group is focusing on Arizona, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

“The gun on this general election does not start when we have a nominee; it started months ago,” Plouffe told The Times. “If the things that need to happen don’t happen in these battleground states between now and May or June, our nominee will never have time to catch up.”

Acronym wants to raise as much money as possible so that the Democratic nominee is in a decent position to take Trump on in the general election. According to Plouffe, this is about the Democrats playing catch-up with Trump and the Republican National Committee.

“Our nominee is going to be broke, tired, have to pull together the party and turn around on a dime and run a completely different race for a completely different audience,” Plouffe said. “There is an enormous amount of danger between now and then. If the hole is too steep to dig out of, they’re not going to win.” (Read more from “Former Obama Campaign Manager: Dem Nominee Is Going to Be ‘Broke and Tired'” HERE)

SHOCK: New Poll Has Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden Tied for First Place

A new Harvard-Harris national poll has former Vice President Joe Biden running a substantial lead ahead of his closest rivals, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA). . .

33% selected Biden, 18% selected Sanders, and 15% selected Warren. No other candidate came close to double digits. 8% were “not sure.”

When independents were added to the Democratic group, the numbers shifted, but the positions remained the same. 25% for Biden, 15% for Sanders, and 12% for Warren. 14% were “not sure.” . . .

Here’s where things get interesting – the survey asked respondents to choose a candidate if the pool were expanded to include Hillary Clinton, Michael Bloomberg, and John Kerry.

Once these candidates are added to the mix, the race changes dramatically. Biden still leads with 19% of the Democratic vote, but Clinton comes in second with 18%. Warren falls to 13%, and Sanders to 12%. (Read more from “Shock: New Poll Has Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden Tied for First Place” HERE)

REPORT: Dick’s Sporting Goods CEO Testing 2020 Run

Ed Stack, the CEO of Dick’s Sporting Goods and a longtime Republican donor, is testing the waters for a possible third-party presidential bid that could scramble the dynamics of the 2020 general election.

Various messages were presented to a focus group in southern Wisconsin this week centering on the billionaire businessman, along with possible three-way match-ups against Donald Trump and Joe Biden or Elizabeth Warren.

The focus group, according to a source who took part in the testing, ran through varying themes involving Stack and heavily focused on his example of “showing leadership” by halting the sale of assault-style rifles at all of Dick’s Sporting Goods stores in the wake of the high school massacre in Parkland, Fla. . .

The message testing told a different story. Those in the group were shown several short videos of other candidates including Biden, Warren and former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz — a fellow billionaire who explored a presidential bid as an independent before announcing in September that he would not run — but viewed eight or nine videos that included Stack messaging, according to a focus group participant. Ironic Twist: Democrats’ Impeachment Probe Interfering in Ongoing Presidential Race

By Breitbart. The House Democrats’ impeachment inquiry into whether President Donald Trump attempted to influence the looming 2020 elections may interfere with the outcome of the presidential race in an ironic twist.

In other words, the Democrats are doing what they accuse Trump of trying to do: interfering in the ongoing presidential race. House Democrats launched the impeachment inquiry on September 24, months before the American public goes to the polls to elect the next president in November 2020.

Until the American public votes in November 2020, it will remain unclear whether the Democrats’ impeachment effort will hurt or benefit Trump. The impeachment probe, however, is already having an impact on the ongoing 2020 presidential election, potentially changing the minds of some voters.

Mainstream media outlets have acknowledged that impeachment could have collateral effects linked to the 2020 elections.

“Impeachment could drastically affect the 2020 election,” MSNBC conceded on September 25, a day after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) announced the impeachment probe. (Read more from “Ironic Twist: Democrats’ Impeachment Probe Interfering in Ongoing Presidential Race” HERE)

How the Impeachment Inquiry Could Affect the 2020 U.S. Election

By Quartz. . .Because 2020 is an election year, both sides will manage proceedings with an eye to the November poll. It is possible the house will vote before the end of the year: the decision to impeach Bill Clinton for lying under oath was made in the last three months of 1998.

Clinton was cleared by the Senate by the following February, so it is also possible the Senate will hold its own proceedings before most of the presidential primaries commence. It takes two-thirds of the Senate to remove a president from office, which has never happened.

While several Republican house representatives have expressed concern about the president’s behavior, the overwhelming majority of Republican politicians are either supporting him or remaining silent. . .

At the moment, Elizabeth Warren challenges Biden’s lead in the polls, with Bernie Sanders the only other candidate consistently supported by more than 10% of Democrats. None of the others in a crowded field—12 have qualified to take part in the next televised Democratic debate—have much support, and they will start to drop out once the primary season begins in February 2020.

If Biden continues to lose support, there is room for someone to emerge as the moderate front-runner, given that both Warren and Sanders represent the more radical instincts of the party. This is presumably why so many candidates are determined to continue campaigning, even when some of them rarely muster 2% in the polls. Delusional? Hillary ‘Considering’ Entering 2020 Primary (VIDEO)

On the radio program Tuesday, Glenn Beck lamented the notion that twice-failed Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton might actually be considering another run in 2020.

According to The Associated Press, a top aide on Clinton’s 2016 campaign has predicted that the former secretary of state “will be out on the trail in 2020,” and the New York Times reported Monday that Clinton said she “would consider entering the primary,” if she saw “an opening.”

General Motors Employee Just Gave 2020 Democrats a Big Warning

Democrats say they’re the champions for the middle and working class. Beware of those evil Republicans; they’ll screw you over. For years, that’s been the playbook. And for the most part, it worked. Obama ran with that and won two elections. Mitt Romney was the perfect foil for this messaging attack, as many looked at Mitt and viewed him as the person who would fire you not hire you. The Obama ads slicing his time at Bain Capital resonated with the working-class areas of Ohio. . .

Yet, as the 2020 Democratic field vies for who can be the looniest of the loony bin, the professional, snobby, and over-educated elite that infest the party is starting to show. It’s quite simple. For liberals, if you’re not college-educated, you’re trash who shouldn’t be acknowledged or listened to because what could you possibly know, right? That has seeped into this cycle. Only the comfy, privileged liberal elites can think that “Medicare For All” is a good idea. Giving illegal aliens health care is a popular proposal, and decriminalizing border crossings is a tenet of inclusivity. Forced “Medicare For All” means the end of private insurance. No one likes giving illegals welfare, and open borders are not tenable. The Left’s intense hatred of fracking, which has created jobs, supercharged local economies, and has led the country to become more energy independent is also seen as another middle finger to the working class. Talk smart about jobs and the economy—they’ll listen. These folks are not die-hard Republicans. They’ve voted for Democrats before and they’re winnable for either party, but the Left’s left-wing thrust is forcing these folks into the GOP fold. One General Motors worker voiced his concerns in September, noting that Democrats really don’t know any working-class people and that their agenda, especially on health care, puts union workers’ plans on the chopping block. For all the fear tactics about the GOP taking away people’s health care, we have Democrats who want to do just that (via Detroit Times):

Matt Moorhead, a General Motors Co. employee who recently transferred to the Lansing Grand River Assembly Plant from the idling Lordstown plant in Ohio, said the health care under the current UAW contract “allows a freedom that a lot of people in society don’t have.”

“It scares me that (some Democratic candidates) don’t know working-class people,” said the 47-year-old self-described liberal who voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016. “It scares me that Democrats turn people away by some of the things they say… My fear is they will lose votes from working-class families who are union.

Government-run health care isn’t the way to do it,” Moorhead continued. “There are systems that run better. There needs to be government involvement, but there also needs be a free market, as well.”

Squad, Assemble: AOC, Omar, Tlaib All Endorse Bernie

In a significant boon to Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign, the three most prominent members of the so-called ‘Squad’ are endorsing his 2020 bid, choosing the Vermont Socialist over front-running leftist Elizabeth Warren. Word of the trio of endorsements from hard-left House progressives leaked out late Tuesday, starting with this scoop about an upcoming Sanders rally in New York City, featuring Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez. . .

Shortly after the AOC news broke, we learned that this was a package deal:

The conventional wisdom is that this development is a boon to both Sanders and Joe Biden, which makes sense. Bernie has been by and large stagnant in much of the national polling, hovering between 15 and 20 percent support since May. Then the 78-year-old announced that he’d suffered a heart attack, prompting him to say that he planned on scaling back his campaign schedule, before quickly reversing himself. Despite his strong fundraising, was Bernie 2020 about to collapse? The united support of the major ‘Squad’ figures, who are popular among the left-wing base, comes at an opportune moment for Team Sanders. It’s a shot in the arm, an injection of youth and energy, and a sign that Bernie will have vocal proponents in his corner as the campaign plays out. Trump on Way to Easy Win in 2020, According to Historically Accurate Election Model

. . .According to one model that has been historically accurate, President Trump appears to be on his way to to an easy victory.

Moody’s Analytics uses three different economic models to predict the outcome of political races: “how consumers feel about their own financial situation, the gains the stock market has achieved during Trump’s tenure, and the prospects for unemployment,” CNBC reports. “The modeling has been highly accurate going back to the 1980 election, missing only once.”

“If the economy a year from now is the same as it is today, or roughly so, then the power of incumbency is strong and Trump’s election odds are very good, particularly if Democrats aren’t enthusiastic and don’t get out to vote,” said Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody’s Analytics. “It’s about turnout.” . . .

“Our ‘pocket¬book’ model is the most economically driven of the three. If voters were to vote primarily on the basis of their pocketbooks, the president would steamroll the competition,” the report says. “This shows the importance that prevailing economic sentiment at the household level could hold in the next election.”

Under the stock market model, Trump would win with a 289-249 vote. The unemployment model gives Trump a 332-206 win. Using all three models combined, Trump wins 324-214. (Read more from “Trump on Way to Easy Win in 2020, According to Historically Accurate Election Model” HERE)

WATCH: What Happened to This Trump Supporter at a Rally Perfectly Captures the Left in 2020

By Townhall. Okay—we all know the Left hates Trump, but they may hate his supporters even more. The president’s rally in Minneapolis was dotted with left-wing thugs who harassed and assaulted Trump supporters because having a view that isn’t to the left of Lenin is intolerable to these clowns. We’re all Nazis in the eyes of these people. They’ve become totally unhinged by the 2016 election and this incident last night toward one Trump supporter, who was being interviewed by Vice News, perfectly captures how extreme liberals have become: he was spat on.

The supporter, Dave Carlson, wasn’t angry. He took it in stride. The host was visibly shocked by the action. Another man is seen apologizing for the incident. Another individual, while not a supporter of the president, also came up to Carlson to say what happened to him was not appropriate, but added that his MAGA hat was also “disrespectful as f**k.”

Protester Spits in Trump Supporter’s Face Before Rally in Minneapolis

By Fox News. man wearing a red “MAGA” hat was surprisingly calm after someone appeared to spit on his face during an interview before President Trump’s Thursday rally.

David Carlson was outside the Minneapolis rally when the incident occurred. Vice News correspondent Elizabeth Landers asked him a question when an unnamed protester sullied his face with saliva, according to the outlet.

After the spit hit his face, Landers’ jaw dropped. “Oh nice,” Carlson responded in a sarcastic tone before laughing and wiping it off his face. . .

Carlson said he was “fine” and a man walked up to him to say sorry that it had happened to him. Someone else followed, claiming that the incident wasn’t representative of how people really felt. (Read more from “Protester Spits in Trump Supporter’s Face Before Rally in Minneapolis” HERE)

State Poll Shows This Dem on Top – and She’s Not in the Race

Former first lady Michelle Obama repeatedly has stated there’s “zero chance” she would run for president in 2020 — but a new poll in New Hampshire, the state holding the first primary in the race for the White House, suggested that if Obama changed her mind, she would enter the race as the front-runner.

The Boston Herald-Franklin Pierce University survey, released on Monday, indicated a three-way tie for the top spot in New Hampshire — with Sen. Elizabeth Warren at 25 percent support, former Vice President Joe Biden at 24 percent, and Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont at 22 percent.

But, if Obama hypothetically jumped into the race, the poll suggested she would grab 26 percent support of likely Democratic primary voters in the Granite State, with Warren and Biden at 20 percent and Sanders at 15 percent. . .

“There are so many ways to improve this country and build a better world, and I keep doing plenty of them, from working with young people to helping families lead healthier lives. But sitting behind the desk in the Oval Office will never be one of them. It’s just not for me,” she told Amtrak’s magazine The National this past August.
