Rep. James Comer Reveals Next Steps in Biden Impeachment Inquiry

Republican Rep. James Comer of Kentucky said that investigators from the House Oversight Committee would be seeking bank records involving Hunter Biden and Jim Biden as part of an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden as well as any correspondence the president sent under an alias.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy said Tuesday that an impeachment inquiry would move forward, with Comer joining Republican Reps. Jim Jordan of Ohio and Jason Smith of Missouri leading the probe into business dealings involving Hunter Biden. The House Oversight Committee released bank records Aug. 9 showing that Hunter Biden received millions of dollars from Russian oligarch Yelena Baturina, who was married to Moscow Mayor Yuri Luhzkov until his death in 2019.

“This is a very important tool in the toolbox. This will help us, when we go to court, to get some of these bank records,” Comer told Fox Business host Larry Kudlow. “This will help the judge, force the judge to have to rule quicker. It also trumps executive privilege if the Bidens try to say anything we were trying to get, they couldn’t have because of executive privilege and it also allows to us get things like grand jury testimony. There is a precedence when Jerry Nadler was leading the impeachment inquiry against Donald Trump. They were requesting information and they said they couldn’t hand it over because it was grand jury testimony and the judge ruled because of the impeachment inquiry, then Nadler could then have it.”

“This is a tool we needed to move forward. We’re going next after two things,” Comer continued. “First of all, the bank accounts of Hunter Biden and Jim Biden, because we believe as you have seen the arrows where we show from countries like China, Romania, Russia, Ukraine, there’s arrows through these shell companies, then they end up in nine different Biden personal bank accounts. We want to look at the personal bank accounts to see if there are any arrows beyond that to pay for things of value for Joe Biden. The other thing we want to use impeachment inquiry is to force these agencies to turn over correspondence. We’ve requested all the emails that were in the pseudonyms. We know there were 5,400 of those, one pertained to Ukrainian policy and Hunter Biden was copied on it, so, these are things we need and I believe with this new impeachment inquiry designation, we’ll able to get it much quicker.” (Read more from “Rep. Take One Guess Who Joe Biden Is Pleading With to Fight Impeachment

No sooner had House Speaker Kevin McCarthy announced an inquiry into whether Joe Biden should be impeached, based on evidence Congress already has obtained about alleged corruption, than the White House announced it wanted legacy media corporations to fight back against the review of the evidence.

A report from the Daily Mail revealed Biden’s White House plans to send letters to major news organizations including CNN and the Associated Press “demanding they probe the ‘lies’ of the House GOP’s impeachment inquiry.”

The AP, even before the letter officially was dispatched, seemed on board, with its claims that the Republicans have been “aggressively” investigating Biden and have been making claims “without evidence.”

In fact, McCarthy in a letter to House members outlined extensive evidence that already is in hand.

That includes that “President Biden lied to the American people about knowledge of his family’s foreign business dealings,” the $20 million in payments “directed to Biden family members,” that the family has generated more than 150 “suspicious activity” reports from banks, the FBI document alleging a $10 million bribe to the Bidens, and the entire Burisma scandal, where Joe Biden, as vice president, ordered the Ukrainian government to fire a prosecutor looking into corruption at a company that was paying Hunter Biden millions of dollars. Joe Biden’s Claims About 9/11 Actually Get Fact-Checked

On Monday, President Joe Biden not only failed to speak at one of the memorial ceremonies on the 22nd anniversary of where the attacks occurred, he also told one of his tall tales, claiming he was at Ground Zero on September 12, 2001. In the process, it appears the president also managed to plagiarize Hillary Clinton, who as a senator from New York at the time, had been there the day after. . .

CNN’s Daniel Dale, who has shied away from fact-checking the president in the past, despite that being his job description, was forced to address Biden’s claims.

On Tuesday, “CNN News Central” played the clip of Biden’s remarks in question, with host Brianna Keilar pointing out “that’s not actually true,” as she asked Dale “when did Biden actually visit Ground Zero?”

As Dale explained, that would be on September 20, 2001, nine days later. He went as part of a bipartisan delegation of senators, with Biden serving as a senator from Delaware at the time. “I asked the White House last night about this claim. They provided a photo of him there on September 20th, reiterated that he was there that day. I think some people might say, okay, you know, he was there,” Dale continued. “It’s just days, a matter of days later. Maybe he forgot. And maybe he forgot.”

“But look, it’s 9-11. It’s sensitive. He’s speaking to military and first responders. So, I think the facts matter,” the fact-checker pointed out in actually fact-checking the White House as he explained why the claim can’t just be easily dismissed.

IRS Whistleblower Reveals David Weiss ‘Not the Deciding Person’ in Hunter Biden Case

Contemporaneous notes handwritten by IRS supervisory special agent Gary Shapley during an Oct. 7, 2022, meeting about the tax fraud investigation of first son Hunter Biden indicate Delaware US Attorney David Weiss said he was “not the deciding person” in bringing criminal charges.

The notes were released Wednesday by Shapley’s lawyers following a transcribed Sept. 7 House Judiciary Committee interview of Baltimore FBI Special Agent in Charge Tom Sobocinski, who attended the meeting and told the panel that he couldn’t recall the exchange.

“Weiss stated — He is not the deciding person,” the handwritten notes from Shapley say.

The document was released one day after House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) launched an impeachment inquiry into President Biden’s alleged role in his son Hunter and brother James Biden’s foreign business dealings.

“Mr. Sobocinski was one of seven attendees in the October 7, 2022 meeting,” wrote Shapley’s lawyers Tristan Leavitt and Mark Lytle in a letter accompanying the release of the handwritten notes, which contained redactions made by the tax-focused House Ways and Means Committee. Reporter Calls Out Biden’s Frequent Gaffes at White House Briefing: ‘What Is Going On With the President?’

White House National Security Council John Kirby dodged a question about President Biden’s frequent factual embellishments after the commander-in-chief falsely claimed this week to have been at Ground Zero the day after the 9/11 attacks.

“The president has lied about being at Ground Zero the day after the Sept. 11 attacks, falsely claimed he saw the Pittsburgh bridge collapse, claimed his grandfather died in the hospital days before his birth. What is going on with the president? Is he just believing things that didn’t happen did happen, or is he just randomly making stuff up?” Washington Times reporter Jeff Mordock pointedly asked Kirby in a jaw-dropping moment during Wednesday’s White House press briefing.

Kirby, a retired Navy rear admiral and veteran military public affairs officer, sidestepped the question, highlighting Biden’s Monday trip to visit troops in Alaska and clarifying the 80-year-old president’s Ground Zero gaffe.

“The president was deeply touched and honored to be able to spend 9/11 with military members there in Alaska and some families and was honored by their presence and the chance to make an important set of remarks about why we need to continue to remember that day. And he did that,” Kirby, 60, said.

“And he spoke about a visit to Ground Zero, which he did participate in about a week or so after the event, and what that looked and what that smelled and what that felt like. And it had a visceral impact on him as it did so many other Americans on that terrible day.” (Read more from “Reporter Calls Out Biden’s Frequent Gaffes at White House Briefing: ‘What Is Going On With the President?” HERE)

‘F—ing Spy Chief of China’: ‘Irregularities’ Found in DOJ Probe of Biden Associate

The Department of Justice (DOJ) investigation and prosecution of CEFC China Energy Co. boss and Biden family associate Patrick Ho displayed “irregularities,” including concealing known connections between the Chinese Communist Party-linked entity and the Bidens, and communication between Hunter Biden and the FBI agents involved in Ho’s case, according to a memo by the Heritage Foundation Oversight Project.

Ho, infamously referred to as “the f***ing spy chief of China” by Hunter Biden, was arrested in November, 2017, and convicted in December, 2018, in the Southern District of New York and sentenced to 3 years in prison for violating the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and money laundering. Ho’s first phone call upon his arrest was to Hunter Biden, who was allegedly providing legal services to him at the time.

Now, a memo by the Heritage Foundation obtained exclusively by Breitbart News alleges that since Ho’s conviction, “significant evidence has emerged identifying concerning irregularities with the DOJ investigation and prosecution,” including that “DOJ was aware of connections between the Biden family and CEFC at least as early as 2017 and that they acted to conceal this information from the public,” as well as “contacts between Hunter Biden and FBI agents related to Ho’s arrest,” and “a leak of investigatory information in the Ho case.”

The memo cites the fact that Ho was under FISA surveillance during a period where he was in “regular communication” with CEFC and the Biden family, which would indicate the FBI and DOJ had knowledge of their business arrangements in at least 2017, and probably in 2016.

The memo also cites evidence that the DOJ redacted mentions of the Biden family — specifically, Hunter Biden — in the evidence presented at Ho’s 2018 trial. For instance, Assistant U.S. Attorney Daniel Richenthal requested redactions of an email presented in the case for the purpose of avoiding a “political dimension”— which was eventually revealed on Hunter Biden’s “laptop from Hell.” (Read more from “‘F—ing Spy Chief of China’: ‘Irregularities’ Found in DOJ Probe of Biden Associate” HERE)

WATCH: Biden Blankly Stares, Refuses to Answer Impeachment Inquiry Questions

President Joe Biden refused to answer — appearing to blankly stare into the distance — when questioned for the first time about the House impeachment inquiry about him for “abuse of power, obstruction, and corruption.”

During a meeting with his Cancer Cabinet in the White House, Joe Biden refused to answer questions about the inquiry, appearing to blankly stare, lick his lips, and rub his hands before leaning over to first lady Jill Biden.

The video showed Jill Biden point to her left, causing Joe Biden to scan the room while questions rang out from reporters for over 30 seconds about the newly launched inquiry.

After refusing to answer questions, White House staffers ushered reporters from the room:

Whaddya Know? Trump Was Right About Biden Family Corruption All Along

“The president should be held accountable,” then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said on Sept, 24, 2019, just short of four years ago, opening a formal impeachment inquiry into then-President Donald Trump over a telephone call he made to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who had just been elected president of Ukraine. “No one is above the law.”

Mrs. Pelosi initiated the impeachment investigation without a formal vote on the House floor by her colleagues, worried that she may put some of her swing-district members in peril on what amounted to flimsy evidence (a secondhand account from a whistleblower in the intelligence community who was not even on Mr. Trump’s call) to mount a historically partisan inquiry to oust a duly elected president.

Democrats at the time, drenched in self-adulation and righteousness, argued that if they didn’t move forward in impeaching Mr. Trump over reports he pressured Ukraine to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden on corruption allegations, they would be betraying, in the words of Rep. John Lewis, the civil rights icon, “the foundation of our democracy.” (Read more from “Whaddya Know? Trump Was Right About Biden Family Corruption All Along” HERE)

House Announces Formal Impeachment Inquiry Against President Biden; Video Shows John Fetterman’s Over-The-Top Reaction to Biden Impeachment Inquiry

By Fox News. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy on Tuesday said House Republicans have “uncovered serious and credible allegations into President Biden’s conduct” that will serve as the basis of an impeachment inquiry.

“Today, I am directing our House committees to open a formal impeachment inquiry into President Joe,” McCarthy announced in a statement at the Capitol Tuesday. “This logical next step will give our committees the full power to gather all the facts and answers for the American public.”

The speaker said House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., will lead the inquiry in coordination with House Oversight Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, and Ways & Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith, R-Mo.

McCarthy spoke for only roughly three minutes and did not take questions from reporters. He made no mention of holding a floor vote before opening the impeachment inquiry, despite telling Breitbart earlier this month it would happen “through a vote on the floor of the People’s House and not through a declaration by one person.”

He listed allegations of “abuse of power, obstruction and corruption” made against Biden by several GOP-led committees who have been investigating the president. (Read more from “House Announces Formal Impeachment Inquiry Against President Biden” HERE)

Video Shows John Fetterman’s Over-The-Top Reaction to Biden Impeachment Inquiry

By Daily Caller. Democratic Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman had an over-the-top reaction Tuesday to the announcement of an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden.

The senator was walking alongside an aide in a brick building, and someone off-camera asked him about his thoughts on the announcement, video footage posted to Twitter shows.

“Oh my god, really? Oh my god,” Fetterman said, pressing both hands to his face. “You know, oh, it’s devastating.”

Laughter can be heard from those accompanying Fetterman. As he continued to react, a man appeared to lead the senator away from the cameras. “Ooo, don’t do it. Please, don’t do it. Oh no,” Fetterman said, clutching his chest. (Read more from “Video Shows John Fetterman’s Over-The-Top Reaction to Biden Impeachment Inquiry” HERE)

House Seeks Info on Biden’s Actions to Oust Ukrainian Prosecutor Who Was Investigating Burisma

House investigators have asked Secretary of State Antony Blinken to turn over documents and records related to “sudden foreign policy changes” by then-Vice President Joe Biden related to the firing in 2016 of Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin.

In a letter sent Tuesday to Mr. Blinken, House lawmakers lay out a timeline of events that suggest Mr. Biden turned against Mr. Shokin after his son took a lucrative job on the board of Ukrainian energy firm Burisma Holdings, which Mr. Shokin was investigating.

House Oversight and Accountability Committee Chairman James Comer sent the letter to Mr. Blinken as House Speaker Kevin McCarthy announced plans to launch an impeachment inquiry into Mr. Biden over allegations of influence peddling related to his son’s foreign business deals.

The impeachment probe is likely to center on Mr. Biden’s role in ousting Mr. Shokin while his son was paid an annual salary of $1 million as a member of the board of Burisma.

Mr. Shokin was ousted on March 29, 2016, at the urging of Mr. Biden, who boasted in 2018 that he threatened to withhold $1 billion in U.S. loan guarantees to Ukraine unless Mr. Shokin was fired.
