Airbnb Apologizes After ‘1830s Slave Cabin’ Was Advertised as Luxury Bed and Breakfast

Airbnb removed listings and apologized on Monday after a TikTok user complained that a “slave cabin” in Greenville, Mississippi, had been listed as a bed and breakfast.

Wynton Yates, a black lawyer from New Orleans, posted a video that went viral last week blasting the online rental app for listing the “Panther Burn Cottage” at Belmont Plantation. Screen captures taken by Yates showed the listing described as an “1830s slave cabin” that had also been used as a “tenant sharecroppers cabin” before being converted into a bed and breakfast.

“How is this okay in somebody’s mind to rent this out — a place where human beings were kept as slaves — rent this out as a bed and breakfast?” Yates asked in the video.

“The history in this country is constantly being denied and now it’s being mocked by turning into a luxurious vacation spot,” Yates said after pointing out the rental featured running water and lighting fixtures, luxuries that were not enjoyed by the enslaved people once held there. COVID Shots for Tots Flop Despite Biden’s Push

Few parents are getting their young children vaccinated against COVID-19, despite the Biden administration’s much-anticipated rollout of the shots for children under the age of 5 more than a month ago.

As of last week, just 4.7% of U.S. children aged 6 months to 4 years old had received at least one dose of the shot, according to the Centers for Disease Control.

Parents are not lining up for the shots, which became available June 18 after the Food and Drug Administration authorized emergency use of both the Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines for children as young as 6 months.

According to the FDA, “the known and potential benefits of the Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccines outweigh the known and potential risks in the pediatric populations authorized for use for each vaccine.”

But parents are hesitant, and many say they will not vaccinate their young children until there is more information about immediate and long-term side effects of the “newer technology” mRNA used in the Moderna and Pfizer shots to trigger an immune response. Never Woke Enough! Beyoncé to Change Song to Appease Woke Mob

Beyoncé is caving to the woke cancel mob by agreeing to remove to word “spazz” from her new album Renaissance, following complaints that the word is ableist.

[Warning: content contains explicit language.]

“The word, not used intentionally in a harmful way, will be replaced,” a spokesperson for the pop diva said in a statement sent to multiple news outlets Monday.

The word “spazz” and its variants are used in the song “Heated,” which is the 11th track of the album. “Spazzin’ on that ass, spazz on that ass,” Beyonce sings. The lyrics occur late in the number, around two-thirds of the way through the single.

“Spazz” is seen by some activists as an ableist slur against people with spastic muscle conditions. Woke activists don’t seem to have any problem with the use of the n-word or the abundance of profanity in the song. (Read more from “Never Woke Enough! Poll: 66% Of Americans Say the Country Is in a Recession or Even Worse, Majority Want a Third Political Party

While the White House refuses to say that the United States is in a recession, a significant majority of Americans say that the country is in a recession or something even worse, according to a new poll.

A recent Suffolk University/USA TODAY poll of 1,000 registered U.S. voters conducted between July 22 and July 25, 2022, asked participants if the U.S. economy is in an economic recovery, stagnation, recession, or depression.

Over 50% of respondents said the U.S. is in a recession, plus nearly 16% who declared that the country is suffering through a depression. There was an additional 18% who felt the nation was experiencing stagnation. Only 9% felt the U.S. was in an economic recovery.

The Biden administration has been lampooned for attempting to change the traditional definition of recession – which is widely accepted as two consecutive quarters of decline in a country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Even left-leaning CNN mocked the Biden administration for attempting to change the definition of a recession.

Brian Deese – director of the National Economic Council –had his old definition of recession come back to haunt him this week as he tried to protect the Biden administration. Out-Of-State Democrats Pay Millions To Influence Kansas Election Because Abortion Is On The Ballot

Kansans head to the polls Tuesday to vote on the proposed “Value Them Both” constitutional amendment that seeks to overturn the Kansas Supreme Court’s decision in Hodes & Nauser v. Schmidt that declared that the state constitution guarantees a “fundamental right to abortion.” Many Kansans may not realize, however, that the votes they cast on Tuesday may have been heavily influenced by out-of-state abortion apologists who contributed a whopping 71 percent of the $6.54 million spent by the lead group campaigning against the amendment.

The proposed Value Them Both amendment passed the Kansas House and Senate in January 2021 by the two-thirds threshold required under the state constitution to place the proposal on the ballot for the citizens of Kansas to decide. The amendment would overturn Hodes’ holding that a state constitutional right to abortion exists by adding to the Kansas Bill of Rights a section defining the propriety of abortion regulation, stating:

“Because Kansans value both women and children, the constitution of the state of Kansas does not require government funding of abortion and does not create or secure a right to abortion. To the extent permitted by the constitution of the United States, the people, through their elected state representatives and state senators, may pass laws regarding abortion, including, but not limited to, laws that account for circumstances of pregnancy resulting from rape or incest, or circumstances of necessity to save the life of the mother.”

At the time of the Hodes decision, Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey remained the law of the land under the federal Constitution. Pro-life Kansans nonetheless responded to the opinion by pushing for the Value Them Both amendment for two reasons.

First, the Kansas Supreme Court’s Hodes opinion created a so-called right to abortion even broader than the then-controlling right established in Roe and tweaked in Casey — a state constitutional right so expansive it would guarantee a right to taxpayer-funded abortions. Listed: U.S. Cities That Are Funding Abortion in Pro-Life States

Pro-abortion officials in cities around the nation are taking a bold stand in support of abortions for employees. Seemingly following the lead of dozens of companies that have announced plans to cover the costs of abortion-related travel for employees, these cities are adding heat to the pro-abortion pressure female employees may be feeling in the face of potentially missing a step in their careers. . .

The Austin City Council wants to fund abortion with taxpayer dollars despite the fact that a state trigger law (passed in 2021 and set to go into effect 30 days after the Supreme Court’s decision) restricts abortion except when a mother is at risk of severe injury. The council will be holding a special meeting to discuss this and is also directing city prosecutors not to enforce the Texas law that protects most preborn human beings. . .

Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb and the City Council are working to create a $100,000 “Reproductive Freedom Fund” to pay for travel-related costs of abortion for both city employees and residents. It’s all part of the city’s six-point plan to advocate for abortion, including refusing to prosecute abortion crimes, treating abortion-related investigations as the “lowest priority,” and considering adding abortion coverage to its employee health insurance plans. . .

According to the Democratic mayor of Cincinnati, Aftab Pureval, the city will now reimburse government employees who travel out of state for abortions. The funding will cover the costs of traveling for an abortion outside of a 150-mile radius. . .

Kansas City City Council members passed a resolution to allow a travel reimbursement for city employees who travel out of state to have an abortion. There is no set dollar amount for the reimbursement, but it would cover the travel-related expenses for the abortion, not the abortion itself. The coverage would be negotiated by the city’s insurance provider, said Mayor Quinton Lucas. (Read more from “Listed: U.S. Cities That Are Funding Abortion in Pro-Life States” HERE)

Tranny Cheerleader Booted From Camp For Allegedly Choking Female Teammate

A transgender cheerleader who was born a biological male was kicked out of a Texas cheerleading camp and given a criminal citation after allegedly choking a female teammate.

“Well guys I’m officially retired as a cheerleader as of last night at 5:30 AM. A girl on the team was being very disrespectful and told me I am a MAN with a PENIS and that [guys] should not be on the team,” the cheerleader, Averie Chanel Medlock, wrote on Facebook last week. “I stood up for myself and she called her mom and dad because she was scared because I [stood] up for myself. Her father said ‘she still has testosterone and a penis and I will kill anyone who comes after my daughter.’”

The incident took place at Ranger College, where police responded to a dispute between the members of the team, according to Facebook posts from team members. Medlock alleges that a teammate made transphobic and racist remarks before the altercation, with cell phone video showing other cheerleaders hiding in a room from an agitated Medlock.

The father of the girl whom Medlock allegedly choked was also called to the scene by his daughter and he has begun pushing for police to release body camera and CCTV footage of the incident. (Read more from “Tranny Cheerleader Kicked From Camp for Allegedly Choking Female Teammate” HERE)

Air Force Includes Drag Show In Woke ‘Diversity’ Festival

The U.S. military is hosting a drag show at a family-friendly festival at Joint Base Langley-Eustis (JBLE) at the end of July.

JBLE is hosting its first ever “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Summer Festival” on July 30, featuring a series of performances and speeches, including a poem on “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion” and a drag show by Joshua Kelley, who performs under the moniker Harpy Daniels.

The festival was first proposed by the JBLE Breaking Barriers Alliance, a committee comprised of volunteer service members under the base’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion. At least one top base official, Colonel Gregory Beaulieu, the installation commander, signed off on the event and approved the use of military resources, a JBLE spokesman told The Daily Wire.

The festival is advertised as a family-friendly event, including “bouncy houses and face painting for the children,” according to an event description. The event, which will feature performances by several cultural groups, is billed under the theme “Celebrating Differences.”

Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives have gained ground in the military in recent years, a development that critics say is gutting the unity, meritocracy, and mission readiness of the U.S. military. Rep. Mike Ghallager (R-WI), the ranking member of the House Subcommittee on Military Personnel, said in a February speech that DEI initiatives are undermining the military’s strength. After Roe Decision, There’s an Increased Interest in Sterilization Procedures

After the U.S. Supreme Court’s Dobb decision, which overturned Roe v. Wade and eliminated the … right to have an abortion, many are reconsidering their birth control and pregnancy prevention methods — and some may be considering long-term, permanent options, doctors say.

In the weeks since the Supreme Court’s decision, requests for sterilization procedures — generally, vasectomies and tubal ligations — have reportedly increased in Texas, Florida, California and Iowa, among other states.

Doctors we talked to in the Triangle are seeing an increase in requests for the procedures, too.

Dr. Amy Bryant, an OB-GYN with UNC Health, told The News & Observer that she received three or four requests for tubal ligation procedures within the past week — an increase from the requests she would normally only receive “every once in a while.”

Bryant said that, considering the timing of the increased requests in relation to the overturning of Roe v. Wade, she thinks the increase in requests is “definitely due” to the Supreme Court’s decision. (Read more from “After Roe Decision, There’s an Increased Interest in Sterilization Procedures” HERE)

Jared Kushner Claims John Kelly Shoved Wife Ivanka Trump

Former President Donald Trump’s second chief of staff, John Kelly, once shoved Ivanka Trump in a West Wing hallway and then apologized for it, according to her husband, Jared Kushner.

The alleged incident, which Kelly denies, appears in Kushner’s forthcoming Breaking History: A White House Memoir, which hits shelves Aug. 23. Both Ivanka Trump and Kushner, the daughter and son-in-law to the president, were top advisers in the White House in the previous administration.

“One day he had just marched out of a contentious meeting in the Oval Office,” Kushner wrote, according to the Washington Post. “Ivanka was walking down the main hallway in the West Wing when she passed him. Unaware of his heated state of mind, she said, ‘Hello, chief.’ Kelly shoved her out of the way and stormed by. She wasn’t hurt, and didn’t make a big deal about the altercation, but in his rage Kelly had shown his true character.”

Roughly an hour later, Kushner added, Kelly visited Ivanka Trump’s second-floor West Wing office to offer “a meek apology, which she accepted.” (Read more from “Jared Kushner Claims John Kelly Shoved Wife Ivanka Trump” HERE)
